  1. I wanted to go wood and stone farming with my new elephant and rhino I tamed the other day, but was not in the mood to tame another one when the inevitable alpha wolf or lion falls from the sky, so i logged off early and went to sleep.
  2. The island i am on, spawns so many wolves / crocs / lions / snakes its insane. I built up top where i thought was safe, but it does not seem like there is a neutral spawn / predator spawn system and it is all shared. It is always a surprise what i will get next spawning right next to my base because building does not block spawns at all. The only peace i get is if i lead all wolves & lions that spawn right next to my base off the mountain and let them wonder around below until they eventually spawn again. If i kill everything, which isn't too difficult unless there are multiple lions makes them spawn much faster than me moving them to a different location. I would love for them to make some adjustments or make building prevent nearby spawns so there is at least a safe area on islands. Constantly having to watch my back for a teleporting lions that rip me off my wolf or the numerous alpha wolfs that spawn that i have no choice but to lock my animals up & shoot ranged weapons at it for several minutes to be able to continue to play the game is getting old.
  3. I would like them removed from the game entirely, without help from OP dino tames in ark, they just do not feel like they belong. Or just enable them on power stone islands, that's whatever, but please for the love of god, let me farm on my island with a chance of fighting back. I just tamed my 2nd Rhino because my first one died to 2 regular wolves yesterday, and the only thing i fear is running into a Alpha wolf / lion that i do not notice in time and the possibility of not having enough stam to get away / behind my gate fast enough as fighting them is not an option. I accidentally tagged a vulture lastnight while i was on my level 70 wolf, and a nearby lvl 235 alpha vulture was like HECK NO! and i had to run for my life. That little bugger did 30 DAMAGE A HIT! and if course they hit the rider not the tame, this was with plate armor on! If it managed to kill me, my tame would of been easily killed before i could get back. That is terrifying, who is having fun with these things in the game? certainly not me. They are fixing how it stayed aggro'd to me for what felt like an eternity which is good, but still.. ugh
  4. I am pretty sure foundations or any structures do not block spawns. I have a very difficult time keeping my tames safe on the island i am on, there are 5 trillion wolves / lions / snakes / crocs and other things on the island at anytime, and this is a tiny island, takes a minute or 2 to circle the whole thing on a wolf. I built 2 behemoth gates to completely block off an area and my tames are inside of a pen behind the gate. nothing i have built blocks any of the spawns, lions / wolves still spawn right next to my house, very frustrating, and if i am really unlucky an alpha will spawn. Fun stuff.
  5. I tamed a rhino today, level 9, this is after the 2x patch. I had 1800 turnips that i brought back with me from the tundra to my new base near the middle of the map, (just a quick 4 hour sail) so that wasn't an issue, but this taming system is SOOOOOOOOO unbelievably BAD. This was the most unfun, infuriating experience I have had so far in Atlas. I finally managed to get it in the trap i made, which was a huge chore because they get stuck on everything, had 150 arrows, 20 Bola's and 100 turnips on me, should be good to go! lets get a Rhino! yeah no.. After figuring out that it was a god awful 1.1% per turnip and i could only feed it 2-3 times per bola, I quickly realized i didn't have enough Bola's, Arrows, or turnips as they were spoiling in my inventory. Even in the trap that i made, its head sticks way outside of the walls allowing it to still hit you when Bola'd, hits like a truck, very painful. You have to position yourself CAREFULLY behind its head to be able to feed it a turnip, and if you get just a little to close, it will hit you and you are almost dead, and knocks you halfway across the map. After getting it to about 30% i made a slight mistake and it hit me a couple of times, and i Died. This was right next to my base so i came back, knocked it down again, and fed it as quickly as possible, shouldn't of been more than a couple of minutes. GUESS WHAT!? that 30% progress is now 15%, if you are not chain feeding it the progress drops VERY VERY fast. I died twice taming this rhino, and had to panic run to my Tannery to make a couple more Bola's / get more stuff to repair my bow and lost 10%+ progress each time. My friend came and helped me make more bola's and arrows and i was able to finish it with 35% taming efficiency, i was just happy to finally have a damn rhino. Pretty excited as i wanted a rhino for many days, my island has no metal other than regular rocks, so i figured this would be great! nope.. It gathers no metal, just farms stone quickly, has horrible weight, 300 hp, gets stuck on everything, cannot fit through a small stone gate. And to top it all off, 2 wolves fell from the sky, since they spawn on top of the mountains around my base.. With no stamina left as i was farming stuff, couldn't turn around to even hit them, the rhino is now dead. They need to completely revamp this taming system. Bears & wolves are easy enough, but if they choose to keep this dreadful system, they should at least increase the Bola escape timer to 5+ minutes. It is bad enough you have to sit there and hit E every 30 seconds. but having to bring so many Bolas & arrows to tame something is ridiculous. I would absolutely love ark's taming system after i put myself through this torture. Please do yourself a favor and don't bother with the bigger animals until they revisit this system.
