  1. Ah, playing DOOM on AOL dialup was the best! It does feel similar, especially trying to kill cobras. Just aim in the general direction and keep shooting till it dies. Eventually enough head shots will register...
  2. Yep, this is exactly what is happening. We had this issue (along with the rubberbanding, sail turning back and forth, sail not dropping while holding spacebar, etc.) on our private server and found that there are certain player log files that log crap like bed uses and demolition and such that were getting really large (4GB per person). We needed to periodically clean/delete these out and that fixed the issue for us on a Nitrado server.
  3. Everyone is experiencing it from what I've seen and heard in chat. I've posted multiple times about it in the General Forum and in the Bug Report forum. I tried to do a map last night in F7 and the AOD were warping and rubberbanding so bad I couldn't hit them or dodge the big guys swings on my bear. Ended up dieing because of it and ran back, finished the last 2 AOD, but it bugged the treasure map and said there were 2 more guardians (which there wasn't). Couldn't complete the map. Game is running terrible right now. No one @ATLASis acknowleding the issue which makes it worse.
  4. I did under a thread SERVER LAG/RUBBERBANDING/DISCONNENTS. @ATLAS @Chismebeard Is it too much to ask to at least acknowledge that you've heard our issue and are looking into it? These aren't just isolated events and every server grid I've been on has had issues.
  5. Many posts have been made with no acknowledgement of an issue. It's very tough taming any non-passive tames right now due to lag and from what I can tell, playing on a build that doesn't include changes from last season to make taming better. Try taming a giraffe! I just gave up on that stupid piece of crap.
  6. Welcome back! I need to come find a bear.
  7. There used to be but they stopped support the PvE map about 6 months after EA began.
  8. Good point! Forgot he is on PvP.
  9. Yep, a common way to grief people or keep your discovery beds to last longer. Can create a foundation and put a storage box on it for 40 days of no demolish or autodecay even though the foundation is only 9 days. I reported it last season.
  10. It's a lag/desynch issue. They need to clear out the files XXXXXXXXXXXX.arkprofile from each server, especially the servers with larger populations.
  11. The must have reverted the change in proximity of stuff within the water too. Not supposed to be able to do that anymore. Seems like we're working in a version that is actually several versions ago. Report it. That company should also get a warning too.
  12. I'd totally buy some armor skins or roleplay/decoration items for ships at a reasonable cost! If you need working capital, just give it a try.
  13. Reporting from another post here because I'm seeing the same thing: So I've noticed recently that my server lag (ping) to the servers is consistently sitting over 150. Load times into the game and between grids are getting longer. Animals, especially horses, lions, snakes, bears with carts, are warping all over and when trying to tame, animals are desynching all over the pen making it VERY difficult to find the feeding spot without getting hit over and over. When sailing, holding spacebar doesn't drop my sails now and the sails twist back and forth when moving. I also get lags in sailing and then a short freeze and then my ship teleports forward like a rocket, which is rather scary when pulling into port or in shallows. Last session we ran our own Blackwood map for a while this started happening on our server. Nitrado couldn't figure out the problem. They tried moving the server to newer hardware, reinstalling, etc. which helped initially but just went back to the issue. We went to the bug reports and submitted a ticket to GS and they said it was a Nitrado issue. Well, we ended up figuring it out ourselves finally. We started poking around in the files and within atlasmain/shootergame/saved there is a file that holds information for the individual players. Not sure what all of it is but there were a couple that were very large, like 2.4GB PER PLAYER. The file extensions are XXXXXXXXXXXX.arkprofile. We analyzed the file and it was just a bunch of bed activity and other nonsense. So we deleted the largest file and viola, no issues. So now we go in and clean out all those files that get too large. It doesn't affect our game or characters at all so I'm not sure what the purpose is. I don't know if the official servers work the same but I'm betting they probably do. We have a whole new team with new admins and a new head developer and I'm going to assume you guys know about this BUT the issues that I'm seeing on the official servers are EXACTLY what we were experiencing as well. Maybe you guys need to check those files and see what they look like. Because something is WRONG with the servers right now.

  15. The fix to cobras warping through walls and foundations appears to have been reversed. Why? Also, the hitbox on rattlesnakes and cobras is way off. I can stick 20 arrows into a snake before I get 1 hit. When will this be fixed? The change to animals twisting/desynching and the taming/feeding spot for Giraffes and other animals appears to have been reversed? Are you doing anything to address the many complaints that you've been getting concerning taming for this new season? It's worse than it has ever been. When will animals desynching off ships be fixed? Will any further roleplay/decorations be added for buildings and ships? Rugs, lamps, etc. ARK has a ton of great mods such as ECO's stuff that have already been made so we know it's possible. Will the freeport structures and towns ever have buildings that we can enter? It's not very immersive to go into a town and see 2 NPC's that sell humans and cosmetics and nothing else and a bunch of buildings and a tavern that is just a big solid block. My biggest question is, when will the developers actually start listening to the community ideas and wants and needs?
  16. Yep, another stupid "fix" that causes more pain than what it was supposed to fix which is assholes blocking you in. Now you can't build shipyards or docks because of it. This game is just terrible right now.
  17. The resources are all mixed up right now. Not sure what the hell they did but it's all screwed up.
  18. What are the rates and do you do any special events rates?
  19. If they ban the exploiters they'll lose a large % of their player base and that's not good business.
  20. I don't mind the ARK system. It's a little boring and monotonous but at least it works consistently. Considering they haven't figured out how to fix the desync issue with this system in a year and a half, I don't think they'll be able to. Obviously we've found workarounds for most things but man of man can it be frustrating early on. For instance, after I talked to you yesterday, I found a max level bear in C7 and tried to tame him. Set up a simple ramp trap but the stupid thing kept glitching and killing me since I can't make plate yet and was solo. I finally gave up because of the time it was taking with no taming bonus active and was losing taming efficiency. Searched for a long time and it was frustrating to have him keep glitching. I slammed my first so hard on my desk that I cracked the top. Usually bears aren't that bad but it seems worse now or maybe it was my trap since I had to put it up quickly. Anyways, it would just be easier if you bring me a bear Gin! I'm in C7 atm.
  21. The best way is to just use a bear to tank it and no trap. With traps, the giraffe clips into the trap and when the system does a collision check it shifts the giraffe which is what causes the spinning crap. Find a nice wide open spot, sit on the bear, swipe it down till it's low, then just bola. If it's out in the open with no terrain clipping around it you should be able to tame it easier. It's a junk system that they just need to redo. I vote bring in the ARK torpor/knockout system instead of this bola crap.
  22. This system has been inadequate and bugged since the game was released and it's only gotten worse. Tames clip into terrain and continuously shift around and attack you. I believe that the current system checks for clipping issues every 5-10 seconds and that's what causes the spinning shit. Tames are out of sync between my system and the server so the position displayed on my screen is not the true position, thus I can't feed them. This is the same backbone as ARK (as evidenced by the many resources that are duplicated between the games) so just bring in the knockout/torpor system of ARK and be done with it already. I like that system much better than this stupid bola and countdown system.
  23. There never was fiber in the Arctic region (far north and far south of the old map) except for seaweed so not sure if Tundra is the same as Arctic.
