Maybe instead of sailing get some decent ship xp from ship activities like repairing, picking up flotsam, fishing. I know repairing sounds like it could be rough but it will also be rather resource heavy to straight level this way by tediously managing sotd damage resources and repair time.

So i think from this post we can all agree some sort of trading system change needs to be implemented. There are some great ideas here.

I was promised magic, the trailer says magic and i want to launch fireballs have magic infused weapons and to be able to launch the cursed heads of my enemies at the remaining enemies via catpult. But honestly they said there was going to be magic and i am yet to get any.

You can 100% do it solo with a galleon. We used a galleon with 250% resist and the rest in damage. 1 weight 4 handling 1 speed you could easily do it with 3 speed i think it would have run better. 2 cannonballs will take out a tentacle np so we just put 3 cannons facing 45 degrees from our front and rear totalling 12 cannon. And then we had 20 each side in gunports but tbh that was overkill we did 1 volley and the head phase was over. All our cannons were only about 130% dmg. We didn't repair the planks once 1500 cannonballs will get you through. Only use the front and rear 45 degree cannons for tentacles so you can keep ports vlosed for more speed. Have a decent set of hp fur and spec into hp and fort. You want the savior feat in medicine because it is an aoe that will also heal your crew. Have good lvl 80+ crew members with armor on and the fight will be a breeze. We had just a gally and a brig but could have easily solod it with just the gally

I rather like the idea of your player shops also being able to buy requested items at a price set by the owners. The reason i suggested the auction house is to cut down on time spent. Yes there is a few groups that do trade rss but with such a large map it is often more economical to farm yourself. People make their gold in a variety of different ways in this game and trading seems to be lacking. More players would be ideal to solve this whole situation but this won't be coming for a long time yet (i expect there to be a spike at release and then fanboys will drop off again) an ingame auction house at freeports would work well for both pve and pvp. The rapid decay also prevents loitering, small companies would have alot of danger and frustration of long distance travel removed on pve and pvp. You can start noticing the names of people selling on auction house and make more connections. Like i said with the player base lacking i feel this would greatly boost the games alure. I just feel that a great economy would boost the games health in general. There isn't much to dump gold into other than upgrading gear atm.

A good crab can take down almost anything on golden age. Only mythical creatures will be a pain.

I just want them to remove the sailing speed decrease on cargo racks tbh. The extra weight on the ship is enough of a decrease.

I would love to see an in game auction house at freeports that is linked between all other freeports. Much the same as WoW, what implications would this have on the game?? Imagine all the rss are only as far as the freeport away.
