  1. Yeah I gave up on the Ocean map. The Black Isles seems to keep my character though, but I don't like it quite as much. I'm also having issues with the warehouse only connecting to 3 of my 4 resource gathering buildings.
  2. That has nothing to do with what I'm talking about, trust me, it doesn't gain or lose module points based on being anchored. Apparently you just looked at the screenshot without reading my post.
  3. As you can see, this is a fresh Kraken with no modules and already 30 out of 40 points are used. How does this make sense? I'm assuming this is a bug.
  4. The module point system is currently bugged, I was only able to place a Diving Attachment (1 point), and 3 Cannon Rails (9 points), before it said I was out of points. I'm no math wiz but last time I checked 1+3+3+3 is not 40. The problem seems to be the game thinks a fresh Kraken ship is starting with 30 points already filled. Personally I think you should do away with the point system and just let people attach what they want. Also the Kraken would only let me attach a diving attachment at one spot and nowhere else. I haven't had time to test other attachments on the Kraken. Anyway, I like the idea of the module system but the execution needs work.
  5. On single player if you're on PC, hit ~ key to bring up the console and type cheat ssf majestic kraken and hit enter, just make sure you're facing open water. There aren't any ship sales NPCs on single player that I've been able to find, so that's pretty much the only way.
  6. While I can't speak for everyone, I know when I asked for more ships I wanted more buildable ships. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there is some value and a niche for prebuilt ships. I also don't like that you can't use any of the add-ons, (i.e. the diving attachment), on these prebuilt ships, which puts them on par with the sloop and the raft when it comes to utility. I also don't like the lack of customization potential or the inability to build on them. It's a shame to finally get something on par with a frigate and we're pretty much stuck with how it comes out of the box. I'd also like to see more parts and options for existing ships. I still think charging gold for ships you build in your own shipyard is an asinine feature. I do like the mating changes, having to have them set on wander was a rather bizarre and inconvenient requirement. Even though I fully anticipate my list of suggested changes will be ignored as always, here they are regardless: 1) Remove gold charges for ships you build yourself. It makes no damn sense. 2) Make buildable versions of the prebuilt ships and more customization and allow addons. 3) Make more parts for buildable ships. The whole reason I started playing this game is because it allowed me to build my own ship, and you've done practically nothing to expand on it since the game went live. 4) Why can't we equip guns on our NPC crew? Can we please get this feature?
  7. If you ordered a meal at a restaurant and it wasn't cooked properly, are you saying unless you could cook just as well as the chef you have no right to complain? As paying customers we have a right, even an obligation to point out when the service or product doesn't meet our expectations. Your post is patently absurd. Yes, it is in early access, but if no one points out when things aren't going in the right direction guess what the full release will end up like, if we ever actually get there?
  8. Apparently they have a niche group of yes-men players whos opinions they value more than 99% of the feedback I've seen. Why? Because they agree with everything the devs are doing, so clearly they must be right! Never mind the vast majority telling them it's a bad idea. The majority of players that disagree with this stupid idea don't count. It's just "noise" to the devs, in their own words. Well, let's see what that strategy does for them if they try to sell any future content for the game when the noise makers refuse to buy it.
  9. Either you all are just straight up trolling us or
  10. I have to say I find some of these changes misguided to say the least. Why do we need more gold sinks when you're going to be wiping servers? How does charging gold for ship frames make any sense at all? Am I paying myself to make the ship? Am I nailing gold coins to the frame for some stupid reason? Seems like the devs are just making design decisions by tossing darts at a dart board or pulling random thoughts out of a hat. Granted, the trade mechanics seems like an interesting idea, though pretty much useless for me playing single player. Unless I can somehow trade with myself and generate gold? I was hoping at some point we'd get something like Medieval Dynasty, where you could assign NPCs to tasks and things like that instead of magical resource gathering buildings. You've got a good idea for a game but 20% of the content and depth to keep people around. I like new content but the balance changes are nonsense at best and irritating at the worst. Next time maybe you should ask your selves, does this change add something to the game? does it make it more enjoyable? If the answer is no, maybe don't push foreword with it? Just a thought.
  11. While I like the idea of being able to straight up buy a ship for gold, most of these changes read like you're deliberately trying to kill off your solo player base. Charging gold for ships in your own shipyard is absolute nonsense. Now, if you want to make it an option to spend gold and get a basic prebuilt ship instead of having to go to the Freeport that's something else. But make it an option. You're making gold harder to get and a new player is going to be SoL trying to get anything other than a sloop which has extremely limited utility. Think this through, devs.
  12. Yeah I think I would have preferred a frigate as well, but I'll reserve judgement on the galley. I do like that it seems to have some features we haven't seen before that I'd like to see on other ships, like forward facing gun ports and a forecastle type structure. Yeah, I know, we can kind of build them but they don't blend with the ship very well IMO and there's no options to add gun ports that aren't built in.
  13. I like the idea of having a personal fleet sailed by NPCs but that's not a current feature of the game AFAIK. It would also require more automation than we currently have because you would want the crew keeping up with repairs while underway otherwise you might find your ships sinking before you could do anything about it personally. The micromanagement you have to do ATM would be a bit of a nightmare as it stands.
  14. I don't know if it still works the same as it did but it was never terribly intuitive. You have to set the irrigation pipes up first and then the stove will snap underneath it. There may be other methods but that's what worked for me unless they changed it of course.
  15. I agree, but after this last wipe I'm just going to play solo from here on out. MMOs like this just feel too much like a 2nd job that I don't get paid for. I'd rather play (or not) on my own schedule without having to worry about what's happening to everything I've built in the game. Or starting from scratch from all the wipes.
  16. This would go down in history as one of the most fowl tactics ever devised by a pirate. Where ever he plucked this idea from, it certainly added a nefarious feather to his cap.
  17. Personally, the next time there's a wipe it'll be the last bit of motive force I need to get me to switch purely to single player. Starting over in this game is rather tedious.
  18. While I find the bookshelf useful in its current form I would not be opposed to these improvements.
  19. Well they're already planning on adding one of the features I've been requesting which is NPC human sailed ships, the land based NPC humans is an added bonus. So that's one down. It does sound like they'll mostly be hovering around islands, so at some point I'd like to see some traffic in the grids. I'd also like to get rid of the "All predators are friends" nonsense if we could, considering many predators don't even like members of their own species hanging around, let alone group up with other species to go after prey. Another thing I'd like to see is aft and fore gun ports for the millionth time. They were a real thing IRL for a reason. Sure, not every ship had them but they should at least be an option, especially for the galleon. Gun ports for the main deck. Again, not every ship had them, but it'd be nice as an option. This would especially be nice for Brigs or smaller class vessels that only have a single gun deck. I'd also like them because it'd look better having some place to snap cannons on the upper deck instead of having to eyeball gun placement. And lastly, I'd like to see Frigates added. Up to 2 gun decks, and 22 to 32 guns, they'd fill the gap between the brig and galleon. Anyway that's all I have for now.
  20. I've said it before and I'll say it again, a bloody accessibility check on treasure maps would be a great QoL fix. Unless GS seriously expects us to drop 25k gold to tame a drake to get to a 50 gold to 2k gold map, in which case I have a suggestion on what they can do to themselves. They can put height checks on building structures and claim flags, but they can't do it on a damn treasure map? BS. Also, that 1+ invisible no show guardian is every bit as annoying as trying to join the mile-high treasure map club. Stop wasting your customers' time, GS. Seriously.
  21. I agree, I think that anything that results in damage or loss of assets should have a headline entry with an expandable details panel that outlines what happened to cause the event. This is especially important in EA when we're expected to report bugs and whatnot.
  22. I disagree, every time games try to combine them they both suffer for it. PVE gets changed due to things that are happening in PVP, and it is rarely for the better. This is because the AI doesn't care if it's engaged in a lopsided battle, or if the player is using something it doesn't have access to. It's never going to hop on the forums and beg the devs to nerf something players are using. PVP however should be fair, players shouldn't have to fight lopsided battles against other players unless for some weird reason they want to. Everything should be balanced in PVP, because if it's not, it quickly becomes not very fun for the player. They get frustrated and leave. Very few people like having the deck stacked against them or fighting 50 to 1 odds, or worse. Sure, there are some games that successfully have both PVE and PVP but they also tend to have developers with a clear vision of what they want their game to be and where it's going and a staff that's large enough to juggle all the conflicts of interest that arise. This game does not really have any of that.
  23. Do you have to have a certain skill for it to show up in your crafting menu? I haven't been able to find it anywhere.
  24. Not a bad idea, and it could reduce overhead on the servers as others have said. There might be some technical challenges involved due to the fact that ships are customizable, though.
