  1. I will build on this for you: We are a large group of players, (we're not actually but we could be) we've finally found an island we like.. where we can build and expand, instead of living on several islands, we can all live on one. But it's got a couple of people there.. we've tried speaking to them, but they're never online. One of them has no tames, a schooner and half a brig in a dock being built. But there's crops growing in the 3 plots outside their house. So I assume they're somewhat active. The other guy.. well, he plays alone, he has build all over the island.. empty buildings that he thinks looks amazing. Now we're told we're not allowed to raze all these structures, that are on our island. We have to wait 2 days before we can do so. Some people even think we should wait 10 days.. Before we can even remove anything.. from OUR island.. That WE are paying for. They want a safe island to play on, a settlement where they can exploit the lawless system and keep their houses for months without losing them to auto demo, they want us to pay for their ability to do this.. so they can continue to leech off the players who do all the hard work, who do all the grind. So they are protected.
  2. I get that. I do. Hope you continue to enjoy the game and I fixed your statement for you. I am guessing english isn't your main language.
  3. And your point is? People bought the game in EA.. it's not finished. It's a process.. when it's released, maybe the numbers will be the same, maybe by some miracle they'll turn it around.. maybe it's just doomed, because the world is full of babies. That's life bud.. that's life. In the meantime, I have tames to feed, islands to explore. The large amount who don't even play the game? Thier opinions, like yours, don't matter. Which is why I ignore the majority of what you say. I bet you can't even remember why you're arguing?
  4. I think it's great how you just make up stuff in your own head and then accuse people claiming they said it. Do you really think people will hunt down occupied islands, just to raze everything? It's an optional extra. Most people won't use it. Some might, but it is, their choice, not yours. You aren't paying, you don't have an argument. If you want rights.. own the island. Until then, go back to crying into your pillow, screaming at walls or whatever it is you do when you're not trolling these forums. If you don't empty your house in the 48 hours.. that's your fault. Also you clearly have no comprehension of what a casual player is, most avg players, play on avg 2-4 hours and have jobs, children, lives etc. Yet they still manage to play every day for a few hours. Casual players turn up maybe on a weekend.. maybe for a day every other week.. Why should the rights of all the thousands of players who play every day, be punished, so the few people who may or may not turn up at all can play a happy happy game. The have no rights, if they want more, they should at least play the avg number of hours everyone else does. Games should be balanced for the majority.. not the minority. Minorities get no rights. If they did.. I'd have a submarine.
  5. There are no taxes. It's just a 20% bonus to all settlement owners.
  6. Or 99% of the time, was just deleted by the game for some random reason. All ship sinkings should be in the log. Along with the reason why.
  7. Yep for people with decent pc's or maybe home servers to make their own mp 8 player game on, for themselves to play on with just their mates.
  8. When you're lv 150. With your 300 hps you might find sharks a minor thing. Try it when you're lv 20.. Try it, without the diving platform, without the dingy.. without a grapple. Go give it a shot with only 100 health.. Then we'll see who is laughing. Perhaps sharks should spawn in relation to the level of the player? So a lv 150 player spawns 4-5 level 150 sharks.. maybe an alpha shark.. Then you'll be crying about alpha sharks ripping up your whales before you can even get your mythical diving suit in the water.. Eating your potential crew before you can even rescue them. (oic.. it was a joke thread.. i take everything so literally sometimes)
  9. Who do they matter to? Themselves? The devs don't care about them.. you don't care about them, the griefers, nightraiders, offliners. They don't care about them. And you actually expect me to as well? As well what.. to care or not to care.. Personally I do care. But I recognise the problem and the scale of it, because I'm more intelligent than you are. All you do is persue argumentative statements to make further argument. You pull out 1 line of text.. to make a new argument, because you actually think, that if 1 argument you make wins, it actually justifies all your arguments and makes them all true. But it doesn't.. it just means you won 1 fight out of a dozen.. that you lost. Now.. who doesn't think. When they type?
  10. Now.. that isn't the question. They have "so much" money, it's now worthless. It was worthless from the start. IT is only use to buy cosmetics and pay for islands. The question is, will they use it, to grief people with empty houses? You see, the real question here, is will people who are smart enough to make money from the system, stupid enough to just go around griefing empty buildings for the sake of it? And even if they do.. surely all they're doing is doing everyone else a favour? Cleaning the map up one island at a time. Bearing in mind.. they have to wait 48 hours.. before they can even do it. So anyone who does get caught out.. will be a casual player and they don't matter, because they're a casual player.. And what are the gains? I wait until 46 hours has passed.. run around my base breaking all my lockers.. 15mins later.. all my stuff is gone. All the "griefer" gets.. is empty land. All my tames I couldn't move are dead. All my gold, my bps, my stuff is on my ships.. all the stone, wood, easy to replace stuff.. is in the nether.. This is what you're all arguing about. And it fits between these two full stops..
  11. The spam is not removed automatically. In fact, the settlement system, protects the spam and keeps it active. Similarly, stasis on lawless islands noone visits.. keeps everything buggy, broken and protected.. thus, items have been there for 2 months.. noones ever been online to use them or render near them. Still there.. Player shipwrecks.. still there.. Almost Everything they promised.. almost everything discussed in this forum.. all lies.. it's still broken, still buggy.. still ingame. The only thing that is actively removed are pillers.. Just. Pillers. And some ceilings. There are from time to time the odd bed, boat, locker removed, but it's all stuff that's been placed in the last 6-8weeks. Everything older.. still ingame. Yes, there's some truth out there. But good luck finding it.
  12. Got issues much? I left Eu, because I like Americans. And because there's a lower pop. And because the game was more updated.. and less exploitable. On the NA servers. Because they were the last online.
  13. Haven't played for awhile then eh? Naked, cloth, hide..fort... skilled stats. Nothing helps. At 46dgc or 115dgf you get cooked. Unless you log out, use a freezer or go diving.. Diving is actually a nice suggestion.. that'll save me on icecubes. The worst part of it for me, is the blinding sunlight.. If you have no fort.. and no skilled fort.. you're either lying or haven't played for ages.. as I watch people drop dead 4-5 times everytime it heatwaves in n8 or i8. And they have 40 odd fort..and still get cooked. I have 60 default 90 with balance and still take 50% damage. I also have mw hide armour and all the fortitude stats.. which don't seem to help. Nor does my mw cloth. It's either ice.. or swim/drowning. Dodging sharks.. And the arctic is just as bad, but in reverse. Again tho, high fort and mw fur.. really helps. Unless you fall in the water. Then you get to see how fast your food can really drop. As krazmuze says tho, it does feel like heat waves are broken/bugged and should just affect your thirst.. but atm.. they remind me of the burning sands of the ark expansion.. god the number of times I died before I realised what the tent was for.. We need those tents in atlas.. I'd have one pitched on my deck.
  14. Yeh I lost 2 schooners. Fully built and on green anchor. They just vanished. They'd been sitting awhile.. tbh. But inside the settlement. I've seen other companies ramshackle sloops.. still sitting on beaches in lawless.. even now, weeks after the companies quit.. Yeh a visible timer would be nice.
  15. In case you don't know.. $30 is peanuts to most people. Loose change.. $300.00 to pay2win.. compare that to a decent video card or a decent cpu.. there's your answer on instantwin teams.. I pay £700+ on tv every year.. I don't even watch tv.. if pc games cost the same as say.. server software.. or a decent editing suite.. well, maybe grapecard could afford some devs and maybe even some gms.. and I doubt you'd see pay2win teams.. not at a cost of thousands.. I'd like to see a code check on accounts, if someone hasn't played in the last 10 days, they are automatically deleted from their company. My company.. would drop from 40 odd players down to 3. It'd royally mess up our island points.. but at least it'd be fair. Those tiny little islands you get.. for like 15 pts.. you could fit our entire active company on one of those..but you couldn't fit all our tames... biggest waste of resourses in this game.. tames..
  16. tbh if I wasn't in a company that owned it's own island.. and was willing to grind the gold to keep it etc.. I'd still be living on a lawless island. Probably in the Tundra or Arctic.. where noone else goes. Except to visit.
  17. Maybe post in Pvp - Discussions then? Just a thought. As to your query.. any game that has servers that cater for hundreds or even potentially thousands of players.. are always bad for solo or smaller groups, unless there is a vast vast map to get lost in.. in Atlas.. you can zoom out, mouseover regions, see exactly who is where.. there's no hiding and once people know you can't win, they'll gank you. Nothing will ever stop that, short of irl punishments for scumbag attitudes. ie 1000 lashes.. if you ganked someone.. I'd be the hangman!! For free.. Pvp gaming at a seige level requires more or less balanced teams, made up or more or less the equivilent xp of player.. otherwise it rapidly becomes lopsided and one side steamrolls the other. Then the flattened players complain its too hard.. So the system needs to reflect this. This is part of the reason I don't pvp in survival games.. it's too unbalanced towards zerging like groups. Zerg is ok if there's 24 v 24.. but when the numbers are in the hundreds.. it's usually lagged v laggier.. it isn't imo fun for anyone, nor can it be. I'm amazed noone is complaining here about pvp with more than 4-5 ships involved.. because in pve.. you can't usually see more than 2-3 ships without getting completely desync'd with the rest.. boggles the mind how you manage to fight each other.. so it seems to me, that all pvp really means in a survival lagfest.. is offline raiding. Sneakemups and stealemups this is the new pvp.. on youtube for every large ship battle.. there's 10 videos showing people sneaking into offline player bases to destroy all their ships.. that isn't pvp to me.. doesn't matter how many people are in your group.. As for the 12k gold.. well, I'd not call it nothing. Even for a large company. There's also prerequisites before you can mass grief an island.. you need the island points spare, you need to capture it, then you need to buy the eraze.. then you need to wait 48 hours.. then you get to waste your 12k on empty houses and empty stables.. and a shedload of spam. Do that a few times and even mega's will get bored and quit. That all said.. as I said, I don't play pvp, so take my comments with a bucket of salt.. I shouldn't really be commenting on a sphere of the game I don't even partake in. If you'd posted in pvp discussion.. I might never have. One fix I could suggest that might remove a degree of the more obnoxious aspect of current pvp design.. when a war starts, sides are limited to a set number, say 35 a side.. now it might be that one side has 100 members and the other 1000 but only 35 can be in the sieged area at a time.. then companies could multitask raids etc.. whilst the campaign to capture the flag.. which is all it really is, is a balanced 1v1 fight like most arcade pvp games. You take away the ability to zerg, you take away the ability to offline raid.. you force pvpers to play fair.. life is unfair eh.. when even gankers have to obey the rules. I think the obvious truth is, that mass pvp is just a pipe dream, it will never work, because people will be people and not teamplayers. And the painful truth is.. unless you live in an oppressed situation, where friends means something, you'll probably never be in a big company, that games like atlas demands. This is why specific cultures are doing so well in these games.. because being friends, really means something to them. To the rest of us, it's stab another back, afk, gone to lunch, back in 5 but I meant 2 hours.. it just doesn't work.
  18. I refer to the companies of people numbering in the dozens to the hundreds.. not the odd solo player here or there. As for these forums.. most of the people responding here, don't even play the game.. they count as a negative number.
  19. Not to mention have you ever tried firing a cannon on a moving ship? Aiming it alone is a nightmare.. the npc crews make the ship strong.. players are good for turning sails making repairs etc.. selecting targets.. but not for shooting cannons. Hell with the medium cannons you can't even see the target properly. Let alone range it.
  20. I'd like to see companys broken down into squads, sections etc.. But the "company" is everyone, it just wouldn't work with crews of 10, ie pugs.. noone likes being in a pug.. Companies are for dependable people, you trust.. well usually, I'm finding americans don't do trust very well like the rest of us, but, back to pugs. pugs people go afk, they go for lunch without warning etc.. it's no good, you need to be able to depend on people for teamwork.
  21. That's a good point, for pvp then, keep after death, would make pvp abit more consolised and arcadey maybe bring people back, more fun, less grind.
  22. I get the option to demo, but when I click on it, nothing happens. It's like the foundations in a settlement.. can be demo'd but won't.. makes me wonder why you bother telling us stuff auto demos, when it doesn't.. unless it's a piller.. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1804369383 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1804369460
  23. It is. But perfect is never quite perfect now is it? Always room for improvement tho.
