  1. Easy fix. Remove ability to gain dp's by teleporting or dying. Must sail into region to get dp. It's great how people make demands, but never have any answers or suggestions.
  2. I have to grind out maps all week.. or kill pods of whales.. just to allow people to get unlimited structure decay on my island that they do absolutely nothing for. But obviously.. that's nothing. I'm sure the guys who grind out your maps.. would understand my point.
  3. Has nothing to do with priorities, it's to do with being quoted.. if a dev says something, it's taken as concrete fact.. and if it isn't delivered.. it's take as evidence of lack of development or some other negative excuse. So it's easier for devs to simply, not reply. Except to what can't be used against them.
  4. Yeh I suppose if you twist anything around.. you can make it sound anyway you like. Except for the island owners who do all the work. Not acceptable. A timer base instead. Owner sets demo order, say 2-3 days hence or a week even. If original owner doesn't log in and stop timer. Pop goes the weasel. No more spam. Add timer enable to log with a popup warning if player logs in. You want to add more gold for us to grind out.. I'll be telling you where I'll be sticking my island. Or better still.. disable protection for items already timed out.. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1804369383 Like this.. can't be demolished.. even tho it's supposed to have auto demo'd.
  5. Could make the ai attack pillers etc.. thereby removing spam.. log in one day to find ai wandering around your house.. Could be cool. Anything that improves gameplay is welcome.
  6. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1805602810 But I did actually sink them all. They even managed to get a plank below 50%. Please make the Sotd dangerous again. Er.. but maybe not spawn in so many at once..
  7. Our owner did the same. However on our new island I strictly forbid it. No gold has gone missing. Yet.. But that said.. there's only 5-6 of us left now still playing. If you can't trust someone.. why play with them. Join thier discord then.. or twitter.. email them.. They won't post in public except to answer very specific questions.
  8. My aren't you grumpy.. I wonder how many in this thread have played atlas in the last week. This discussion of the island raze, the main contention was an assumption that someone could possibly maybe remove structures in use. Not that they would. But an assumption that everyone is evil and toxic. I haven't removed a single bed from our islands. I haven't even removed traps. I ask people to do that and they come and do it. Beds I don't mind, most of them are plonked down in out of the way places. I'm certainly not going to run around looking for stuff just to break it. Seems to me, most of you need to take a good long hard look in a mirror if you want to see an actual toxic personality and not just base your assumptions onto everyone else. Today is a sad day.. and a loss for the pve community. To pull out one part of what you are saying here, about the guys doing maps in other peoples bases. you know if you throw a grapple in someones base it is returned, because a grapple does a small amount of damage.. therefore violates rules of pve. Thus, you can't grapple onto someone elses gates.. but you can fire a zipline into them. Cos apparently ziplines don't do damage. I'm sure there's a bug in there somewhere. But I do agree, maps on peoples bases, should auto migrate to a location outside of peoples bases. But I'm sure the devs have thought about this already.. Do you know why people put flags behind walls? It's because people in their own companies.. were stealing from it. As for who is to blame for griefing etc.. well the devs for allowing the concepts that allow the griefing to occur.. but also the players who do the griefing.. and latterly the devs for not going anything about them, when they're caught. Outside of written warnings. Funny tho.. make a homophobic remark or a racist comment.. and you get banned permenantly from the servers. As a certain Russian found out last week. But caught using exploits or 3rd party code.. ach noone cares. Of course.. if they did care, they'd have region locked the servers and made Asian servers for the chinese, koreans, japanese and various others whose countries I cannot spell correctly..
  9. Interesting way to put it for my island gtfo.. In Ark, I always thought of it more as "this is my area, those are my trees, those are my rocks, you can build anywhere, except in my area, my trees or my rocks and you are free to harvest from the trees and rocks that you can't build in." Pillering was done more to protect resources than to just own all the land.. then ark became open season to other races and cultures.. those new aggressive cultures started spamming pillers everywhere.. they couldn't comprehend that pve actually meant pve.. not pvp. It took months of continual explaining, using google translate to explain to people why you piller.. what you piller and to understand what pve is. In the end it did work, on my server at least, we got those others to remove their pillers and stop training wyverns on ours and each others camps.. although tbh.. my plantx wiped out the wyverns and gigas that were trained there. But the point stands.. the "toxic" issue on pve and probably on pvp stems more from misunderstanding the rules than any actual toxic attitude. People can't help how they were brought up, but they can learn to be nicer people. As far as atlas is concerned. As far as I am concerned, if I have to grind gold to "own" an island.. then I should be able to do whatever I want, it's my island. I accept that if I have "allowed" someone to build on my island, that their stuff, is always and eternally their stuff. Originally it was decided to allow new buildings to be demolished within 12 hours. ie if someone came along and spammed, you could remove it. If they came along and built a nice house.. you could also remove that, but from my experience so far, noone ever did. At least not in any regions I lived in, quite the opposite. People did remove old traps etc but not someone elses pen or house, except where it interfered with the resource rule. Noone should build on resources.. ie metal spawns etc. Anyone who does.. deserves all the grief they'll get for it. I don't think of people in Atlas or Ark as being "toxic" I know people think I am.. but that doesn't really bother me. What people think of me, is water off a ducks back. What I think of others is however, esp if I'm wrong, which is rare I know. Most people I've met simply misunderstand.. or make assumptions. And those can be corrected through using words. Correctly spelt words often helps. This new rule would have been a great help, esp on empty spammed islands. Contrary to popular belief.. your stuff doesn't actually get demolished after 10 days.. it actually remains. All those traps you never knocked down, all those old houses, old pens.. all still there. It would have allowed new owners to clean the island. But due to the offliners complaining it would allow people to "nuke them" it's been reverted. For pve at least. Which means, those of us who do own islands.. have to put up with all the spam and old traps, houses, pens, shipyards etc.. that don't actually auto demo after 10 days.. or 30 days.. or 50 days.. On occasion the odd ship does vanish.. the odd piller is removed.. pillers only.. sometimes pillers with ceilings. But all the rest remains. And there's no fix for that on pve. So thankyou to the offliners who don't play anymore for your dare I say.. toxic help.
  10. I getting normal iron amount now.. which means these maps gonna be giving me normal xp.. and.. well actually it was basic gold anyhow.. by the time I get around to doing maps.. my weekend is over. No mention in update that magic mythos was over.. I could have just stayed in bed.. I could be sleeping right now.. instead of weeping right now..
  11. I agree with this. You know if I'm driving down the road.. I need a msg telling me I've picked up a nail.. which tyre it's in and how long before the car goes into barrel roll and what my life expectancy is. I don't want to just wake up in hospital with no clue what happened.
  12. Prove it. See you can't.. why? Because most guesses are actually right. Statistics are just avgs taken out of context. There's a difference. I have seen, perfect ships sitting on the seabed. Not a single damaged plank. How'd they get there? How did it happen? Magic? Doesn't happen much now tho.. ships just go "" and that's it. One is there one moment.. then it isn't. Just gone. No wreck, no flotsam.. just water.
  13. Actually I did.. Well, it wasn't a plank.. the whole ship, just exploded as I logged in and sank. Wasn't a single plank on it damaged.. not one. Just my ship lying on the seabed.. all perfect like. I wasn't the last.. I've since come across maybe a dozen, perfectly built ships just lying on the seabed.. sunk, but not sunk, well.. not until I got there and dismantled them. I am but one.. imagine how many I missed.. We are but a few who write here.. imagine how many people have problems.. but never write them down in the forums. Now tell me again.. how many ships don't go missing for no reason. Definitely csbrs.. developers get it all the time.. well 99% of them. (I might be generalising a little bit) Don't know how you're confusing planks missing with ships sinking. I was referring to the latter.. in his post.. he wasn't just talking about the plank.. I rather think the entire ship was more of an issue.
  14. There's plenty of reports of ships being deleted. Maybe you need your eyes checked. Think you suffer from csbrs.
  15. Will look into buying some crabs, since I don't have a submarine.. since I keep falling asleep doing powerstone missions. Actually, thinking I might just stop at 71.. maybe go play something else. Come back in the winter see if anything is improved. My character will have been deleted by then..
  16. What a nice idea.. why didn't I think of that. Actually.. I've been thinking of moving to a smaller island. We don't need all this space and I am not spending all day looking after the campers. But if they contribute.. well maybe I will. Maybe it's ok then.
  17. I've never claimed to have any. I make my viewpoint.. you lot burst into tears. Now apparently, I'm a nazi because I have a viewpoint that isn't concurrant with boomers.. Wow.. you guys are so good at namecalling. So, the players who play least, get more rights, than the players who play most. And anyone who argues anything else, is a nazi. Thanks boomer.. Avg hours.. not hardcore.. just a few hours a day.. not maybe once a month. People who play average hours, don't need to worry about loosing their stuff.. people who don't play at all.. they do.. and they expect to be looked after, by the people who play the most.. and I'm a nazi because I think people who put in the work, should win the prize.

  19. You mean people should eat the mouldy rotting one.. not the fresh ones.. As it is.. people eat the fresh ones.. and the rotting ones are ignored.
  20. I did this.. didn't see the other shark tho..and everyone on discord heard me scream. They don't actually. Sharks swim around them.. waiting for the player.. they use them as bait.. they only actually attack the crew.. after they drown. Apparently sharks prefer to eat dead crewmen.. unless. They're MY crewmen.
  21. No. It's my island.. not theirs. Pvp is player v player killing. No killing involved here. It isn't a pvp attitude at all, it isn't even slightly or remotely pvp. I have no issue with them living anywhere else. Just not, on, my, island. Personally I'd give them longer to leave.. say a week.. to move out. Fair eviction for something they aren't and never have paid for. Exploiters that they are. Don't really deserve to be treated fairly tho.. maybe 3.5 days. Other peoples buildings.. are spam. pillers are spam, ceilings on pillers are spam.. any house I cannot use is spam. Pretty buildings on hills are spam. If it doesn't serve a purpose.. it is spam. If it isn't in my company, but is on my island.. it is spam. Unless it's there by permission. I personally think settlement owners should have the right to destroy all buildings, all of the time. It is their island. No ownership.. no rights, no opinion.
  22. I am continually editing my posts, to remove my mistakes. You manage to place a space between words, so unless you're using a prompter of some sort.. I can only assume you're typing on a keyboard. It doesn't take much to proof read what you said, before, during or after. I do it all the time, even reading my own statements, I make dozens of mistakes and misread, repeatedly what I said, only to look later and go "oh..duh..really?" Since I cannot see your reality, I can only guess at it. If I've caused offense.. that's unfortunate. It wasn't intended. But it is a choice. Now can we get back to arguing about how the new patch is nuking the pve world into oblivion, because casual gamers have an undeniable right to build on someone elses settlement that they aren't paying for.. because: Er.. well.. erm.. because. Yeh. Because! These people demanding rights.. are exploiting the lawless system. And they don't want to pay taxes, they won't give up gold voluntarily.. they won't offer to join in as an alliance.. to help out.. They want to live their little solo lives.. on our islands. And for us to have NO rights.. at all. They, get all the rights..
