  1. So you're saying if you have 59 crew off the cannons they use 59 metal everytime there's a call for 1? Haven't really noticed a massive shortfall of metal.. except after repairs after a fight. (in my case sotd) and it's usually wood I'm short of.. not metal. That's a really good idea.. or allow us to use a lever!! Open = Everyone off the cannons, in passive. You hear a little ding ding.. Closed = Everyone on the cannons, you hear a little ding, ding, ding.. With a switch to allow crew to repair or not. Or allocate 1 crewmen to sweep. Other's can Partaay!
  2. Unless it's fried in bacon fat.. then it almost tastes like fish..
  3. Easily, build a wall around it. Point is, I wouldn't because I don't believe in doing these things.
  4. Could be solved by white listing. I ask for permission to build in your settlement, you add my name to your list, I spam the island, you take me off it. I cannot build, but you cannot remove any of my items, I have 48 cooling off hours to remove my stuff.. at which point, everything I made auto demo's. I think that'd be fair. Then noone could spam your settlement. Pvp rules can be adjusted.
  5. Theres a difference between placing a few pillers to claim ur area and mass spam. For the latter mass griefing, there should be a more severe punishment. You cannot blame a bad system for your own bad choices.
  6. Pathetic.. this is why code like this has to be added. Imho.. we need gm's to just perm ban anyone who does this. And then globally demo all of their company assets. Only then will the problem be solved. The amount of server lag this generates is technically griefing the entire region. Btw the cleanup code only works now on officials on settled islands. And only if the area hasn't been visited within 12 hours.
  7. Reverted the change to Stationed Crew repairing anchored boats in order to control the amount of materials that are being consumed when a boat has been anchored. Idle crew will still repair boats. So now we have to take our crew off the cannons again? Just because a few people don't want to grind a few hundred extra resources?
  8. Actually.. you build a funnel.. chase the chicken into it. Easy peesy. Oh and I've never actually met a hunter.. who actually used a bola. End of the day.. it's a game, taming need challenge.. bola escapes it part of it. Don't like it? Lump it.
  9. I have the shortest possible character, male. Everyone thinks it's hilarious that I can't see over half walls, can't see over lt podium.. can't jump over half walls.. well, sometimes I can.. But yeh.. I get lost in long grass.. I feel sorry for little people irl now..
  10. Can't hear.. if you don't read or listen.. Whilst it isn't a "common" bug, it is still occuring.. as with buildings on shore, as with dozens of other bugs.. That also aren't overly common. I guess we need more info, what exactly was happening at the time, was there a patch before, did anyone see it go, when was last time someone did see it etc..
  11. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1799275566 Try Rowing..
  12. So you have a company with 50 members, 50 flags.. if you limit companys to 1 flag, people will settle as an offline company, sharing everything ingame, keeping their 50 flags.. The guy with 1 flag.. still suffers. I like the current system.. lets companies have their own place, the problem really to me is that there is a/ a lack of islands and b/ a lack of variation in those available.
  13. Only really interested in what is now, not what it could be. As for pvp v pve.. imo, pvp makes the game toxic. People aren't naturally so.
  14. Once heard of a bear, that was snared in a trap, immobile trappers sat down beside it, the bear, unable to respond as it usually did, struggled against it's bonds, eventually managing to free itself, ripping it's feet and legs apart in the process, breaking the trap as well.. angry and in pain, the bear attacked the trappers, killing some and maiming others. Bola's are just leather strips with stones on the end or twisted fibers.. They aren't made to be particularly enduring. Whilst I agree with the idea of a hunter or tamer making stronger bonds when the animal is downed, it doesn't always happen, people come in different varients. And last I saw.. when you use a bola in atlas, you do not secure the animal. So it makes perfect sense that it should escape after a period of time. The bigger the animal.. the faster it should break free. As to resolution, I'd say that creature efficiency should be the key to taming faster, keeping the animal calm, reducing the number of bola's needed. The higher your skill in taming.. the easy a life you lead. Ever tried to actually catch a chicken? Hard work that is.
  15. It has something to do with loading in on the ship.. something like there's an illegal object in the ship at that precise moment, maybe a rock, seaweed, animal, fish.. dunno. But I've now seen this happen on 3 ships. 2 schooners and a brig. I log in, I'm floating in the sea with my ship spread out around me. my crewmen being eaten by sharks etc This is on pve. It might be possible that it's griefing.. ie someone sticking a piller or something under ship.. but I doubt it, never seen any pillers afterwards. Everytime I log in now, I am half expecting my ship to explode. It isn't a great way to start your day.
  16. Roughly every 3rd region, the ships around me appear to stop at the edge of the region we just passed into, they appear to just be sitting there, but on the sextant buff minimap, they are sailing past me. Once they get out of render distance, if I sail towards the ships at this point, I can then see them again. At next zoning, usually I can see them, but at the 3rd it happens again. It's like there's a memory leak or something when zoning. I've also noticed the game has a tendency to crash if I open my inventary after zoning. Which you kinda need to do.
  17. It's not just an issue on lawless, settlements are covered with spam as well, to block people from building on them.. to force claim the entire island..
  18. Except when I'm hunting them.. then they down spawn at all. I've started hanging racks with gold in them to try to lure them out of hiding.
  19. And I always carry spare crew to continually repair my ship.. without taking them off the cannons. Because I don't mind maintaining my ship. Now it's even better. This is QoL improvements. The unsnapped fix is a good fix, it'll cause us some problems, but I know how to work around it.. I don't like spam much, esp in our own company areas. But it is necessary sometimes for short periods. However the fix will go a long way to clear up alot of lag being generated by the insane spam on some islands. Actually.. I will complain!! 3 patches in nearly an hour.. Guess I'm sleeping here tonight.
  20. Right.. when I posted.. I didn't have all my center decks in. Which is what I thought you meant.. After thinking on it awhile I decided I'd pop the gun decks in, even tho the gally was setup for hauling. And lo.. I could build on the front of my ship.. I was / am getting this bug on a ship I've been using for several weeks now. It isn't in drydock being built. Then I put the anchor down.. and now with it down or up.. I cannot build on the front of my ship again. I am thinking maybe I'll mess about breaking decks to see if or what it changes.. I know that if you look off to one side, you can sometimes get them to snap.. othertimes raising anchor works, sometimes zoning works.. sometimes having foundations or pillers underneath the ship works.. But one thing is consistent.. the error msg always occurs at some point. People who say they haven't seen it are very lucky.. and extremely rare. This bug may or may not be linked to the structure collapsing on land.. we're still seeing that bug as well, mostly on ground placed platforms (ie the ones for trees in ark) or with large area ceilings/foundations. Like large breeding/holding pens that some people are building.. you know the ones.. those massive buildings that drop you to 1fps when you come into render distance.. As for rope ladders.. doesn't seem to matter if they're placed in drydock or afterwards.. I lost a rope ladder recently in a sotd salvo.. and the replacement is as buggy as the original. I also have issues sometimes climbing rope ladders on masts.. getting flung off them onto the deck.. on the side I get flung off into the sea, where I am then catapulted down deep into the ocean.. thankgod for the swimming buffs.. but, those glitchs are rare fortunately and you can work around them. Can't work around something not placing at all. I did originally have a ladder going down the hole in the front.. but when i put the decks in, suddenly I had foundations. Another issue is placing ladders/steps in specific angles inside the ship. I've found that if you cannot get the angle you want.. build a set above or below it, then build backwards/forwards off that to get the angle you want where you want it. Also for ramps, I find placing a ramp in the opposite direction, then allows you to place one in the direction you actually want it to go, then you pick up the wrong one.. But the entire building system.. it just sucks. It's really horrible to have to contend with, there are games with much worse systems.. few with better. Fewer still that look good. Yeh it's ea.. etc.. but ark released to full game.. with this horrible system still in place, with everyone still complaining about it. Modders made it work for private servers.. they enjoyed building there. On officials.. they have only just started to add parts of the + mod, this and other aspects should already be in place for atlas. You're supposed to learn from your mistakes, not ignore them.
  21. current: v209.48 - Fixed a bug which would cause bears and horses from not basing on ships when they had storage carts attached to their harness (this would cause them to fall off ships when sailing) - Non Seamless Grid maps now save and load player/ship locations properly (notable on mod maps such as OceanTest) - Stationed crew can now repair anchored boats - Stationed Crew and Idle Crew now have the same gold cost requirements on land and on ships (Client will need to be updated to visualize this change, it's inc!) - Fast Structure Decay is now enabled on non-snapped structures. This means that they will decay within 12 hours. You keep doing this, I'll have nothing to complain about...
  22. They are actually in your hotbar.. it just looks like they're in your inv. Move a tool onto another tool in the hotbar, that appears to be missing, the two will swap. And the missing tool will be active in your toolbar again. It is just a visual glitch, there's no need to remove them or relog.
  23. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1798006376 Trying to place a roof corner.. the game places 4 of them in a row, not where the highlighted area is. This is a consistent issue with the building system. You cannot even turn items using Q anymore.. Building in THIS game.. has to be in the top 3 most frustrating issues. Modders have made a better system than Ark or Atlas.. maybe consider hiring them and firing your staff.
  24. Since we can use lamps underwater when diving for wrecks, there is no reason why we cannot place underwater lamps on wall hooks to light up our harbours and bases.
  25. Maxed out at 66.. Discoveries are so boring to get. Can't be bothered with maps. It's like discover islands.. do a map.. maxed.. Following week, discover islands, weekend.. do a map.. maxed out. We killed a hydra with grenades and carbines. I regenerated and got a powerstone. Maxed my level, made a mythos farm, in middle of making a second. Although the hydra itself dropped slightly less than I farmed, maybe i'm farming the wrong thing. It's such a shame, but these 2x 3x 4x weekends are what are ruining the game. Making it all too easy whilst at the same time.. showing just how grinding the game actually is. Cargo Racks are rubbish.. even with 4 of them you can't really carry that much more than with a standard galleon. It feels so cheap to sail 5-6 regions spend 10 mins there, sail back. That's your day gone and your haul is only a tiny part of the mythical galleon you're building for yourself.. and your mates. Just to say you've built one.. it won't ever be used for anything worth while. Then there's the shortage of useful tames and they keep adding pvp garbage.. 3 so far that are utterly useless in pve.
