I'm sure there are things you could "Lechuck" at the Kraken!

Pretty much my sentiment to. All ranking does in PvE is highlight those that have more time to get more done. There's no skill wall in PvE, just time. Who's go more achievements? Who owns more land? Who has the most gold? well it's all relative to how much time someone has.. not like in PvP where one minute you're the richest, and the next you have been raided and lost all your gold, to which it passes on to your attacker, and so on and so on. Rankings in Atlas PvE are pretty moot.

We're not really a combat company on EU PvE....but I'd like to unlock the Kraken for the sub -- however, the nearest thing we currently have is a schooner, full of monkeys. If we can keep throwing a crap load of shit at the Kraken, and distract it enough for you to hit it with more chunkier weaponry, then I'd like to tag along... if possible?

Could be worse, could have Path of Exiles skill tree....

On topic, what knarks me is when I go running on load up, then stop as an invisible wall surrounds me, then once it's loaded, I realise i'm in someones base, in a room with locked doors, and I can't get out. Especially annoying when on a bear.... Had the same issue in Ark

Just an epic story arc would suffice. Easy to implement, just have treasure chests chaining to other chests. Something like a submarine arc, requiring materials, various trinkets dug from linked chests, and finally an NPC that hammers all the items together to give you the unlock... for those that have completed it, perhaps it can fetch good gold on the 'black market'......

So true, sometimes you log in, need to go west, but, you got an East wind that's going to make it hell... I tend to go with it, go east, and cross the edge of the map... much quicker I'm sure some people still sit in column N, thinking they need a good westerly wind to take them to column D... but forget they can take the easterly and be in D way quicker. Did that to a friend, one minute I was in O9, and 5 minutes later was in A8... he's like OMG how did you cross the map that quickly... I told him I hacked the game, he believed me, said we'd get banned... I laughed, and said, the world is round my friend ... left it like that for him to ponder.

Something I'm very interested in as well. Our merchant schooner does about ~19 kts at half weight, so wonder how much a cargo rack would drag that down, vs putting on a weight sail...... Personally think the cargo racks are too violent on penalties to be useful. The racks were one of the things I was most looking forward to, but alas the penalties are too severe for us

Exactly the same here, I hate foundation spamming, yet, it's the only counter from other players building daft structures like taming pens, right outside your main gate etc. We have preserved a beach treasure point, and plenty of resource nodes by placing our own foundations around. Prior to this, we found buildings, or walls around nodes, or ransom shacks (as we call them) where someone builds an enclosure around a treasure point, and actually charge gold to allow them in with their bears.......... damn straight we tore it down when the timer run dry. Better our own controlled spam, than spam from trolls. As we're active, we're absolutely here to help if people need to build. I have already cleared an area for small company to call home. I have no issue with that, just have issues with people with a pre-wipe mentality, of spam = power.

It's just really really really inconvenient. I'm not moaning by a long shot. if I have to cheese something, to unlock something, it's not playing the game, it's cheesing it. God knows I played Elite Dangerous enough to know when something needs to be cheesed to avoid non relevant hurdles there to provide 'accomplishment' to those that have the time and resources to steamroll the irrelevant, to brag about the 'other' stuff that appeals to everyone! Kraken, is great if you want to kill the Kraken No denying that. It's just really inconvenient, though, if you want to do something locked behind the Kraken and not bothered about the Kraken... We play on PvE, we have no war ships, we're not a warlike company, we like to trade, and explore. I think the nearest thing we have to a war ship, is a galleon with a few monkeys. It's customary to open the 'bow doors' and crap poo on our pursuers whilst singing: What you're gonna do with a drunken SoTD sailor? What you're gonna do with a drunken SoTD sailor? What you're gonna do with a drunken SoTD sailor? Early in the morning?? Hooray and up she rises Hooray and up she rises Hooray and up she rises Hurl-it in the eye this morning!

Never confessed to being a 'bad' player, time starved maybe, perhaps I don't have all the time in the world to 'play', probably a bad example of a 'good' Atlas player perhaps. All i really want to do is explore the new trenches, perhaps acquire a crab? Seems I have to engage in other stuff that doesn't interest me to do something that interests me. I'm not complaining like a snowflake, just merely pointing out it's very, very, very inconvenient, and, it's a huge chore that I don't feel I should do, to unlock what I would like to do Take it as folks wish.

LOL 100% this. The reason being, all other stats are useless, or have no use for a deck swabbing (damn Guybrushes crewmate looks like he has an IQ of 3) automaton. BUT.... a fat bastard, will live longer if your larder runs dry!!! awesome, Stan! yep remember Stan. Wasn't he the shipyard guy? I must have been like 10 when it came out!

it sort of sounds like the kind of thing that can sink ships! if the crab can still walk it doesn't sound so bad, if it ground to a halt at >40% i'd be a bit perplexed.

I haven't been uber enough to tame a crab yet, but, can they still run / walk when >40% weight? I'm a little confused as to how this change breaks the crab, so far, I don't even have a crab, and ponder if I really need it.. It sounds like a PvE nice-to-have, rather than this 'game cannot work without it' type deal. I'll crawl back under the rock wherenst I came now!

The problem is, Realist has a point. Many potential players will scan forums to collate a form of consensus, I do, it's the easiest place to see what's hot, or, what the gripes are (every game has people moaning in the forums). Usually this will help them understand why steam ratings are what they are (i'd lynch anyone that just takes steam ratings as gospel). People coming to the forums to understand the ratings are more likely to buy (as they're probably more interested, or nosey lol).
