Atlas is definitely worth getting. It's still early release, so a lot of stuff to come. If you're with friends, you will have a jolly good laugh. I'd say give it the benefit of doubt.

How the hell does anyone get this amount of gold? I dont think we have a boat that can carry 50k gold!

Unfortunately we lost three schooners over the weekend to in PvE. Lucily the brig and galley survived, but our port is looking very barren. Noticed on the company info that all our crew and animals were claimed by another company as well... Don't know what hurts more, losing a few boats with associated gold and resources, or, someone else waltzing by and stealing our crew and animals we tendered and cared for Played GTA V and shot up some LOST to blow off steam instead...

I want to be able to smear poo on my arrows. I'd like to see what a hollow tip arrow head filled with poo does when impaled in someones rib cage, taking in consideration what a chicken poo does when you ingest it.... yikes! Even better, sword blade with poo marinade.

Wow single player? Then I have just been made a very happy person. Wonder if single player could also be private LAN, or P2P

Unfortunately, it's this philosophy that quickly becomes a game changing blight. I still have a dumbass taming pen in my courtyard because I didn't feel the need to foundation spam. As a QOL enhancement, they should at the minimum have a 'demolish all' to connected structures as an interaction option to a building (with adequate warnings!), to allow one to quickly remove a complete structure to compensate for players with 'time constraints'... (politically correct way of saying it!).

Scurvy is a real thing though. Vitamin C is a good thing to have to take note of. However, vit C deficiency is actually really hard to get, unless you have a crap diet (and can take months to show first symptoms). Who has that much of a crap diet these days? BUT we're not talking these days, we are PIRATES, YARR. Months out to sea, nothing to eat than hunks of meat, and salted fish.. and rum.. It would be very good to have a recpie for Vit C pills though. For QOL, Vit C should be a thing, but easy(ish) to keep on top of. I tend to eat like 75 berries for about 75% (convenient 1% per berry?) Would be perfectly balanced for say 50 berries for a 50% vit top up. Meat, fish and veggies I think are fine. I tend to eat the meats first, as they seem to nuke your hunger level far more aggressively as veggies or fruit. But, ironically, I think the yellow bar is the source of more deaths than anything else! How many times I have accidentally OD'd on yellows.... eating too much rice assures death!

I have never really known how autopilot works either, many folks have posted, ahh just stick an NPC at the wheel.. But, if you set a course North-West, does the NPC helmsman just sail your galleon at 18kts into the first tocks that present themselves? What about avoiding tornadoes or other ships / SoTD? I haven't yet trusted NPC helmsman, but figured this is as good a place as any to ask!

The problem is, people go into these encounters with no points in health, not wearing armour, thinking that if they're on a bear it'll soak and sponge all the incoming hits. Anyone remember this? This scene makes me LOL all the time. It's a valuable life lesson. It means, just because you THINK you're a mighty warrior (on your bear), that someone can't just shoot YOU instead?

It can have its upside to! Lost a bear after accidentally falling off a ledge from a very large sheer cliff face after looting some treasure.. Oh how gutted I was, it was one of those -punch yourself in the face- moments after doing something dumb. However... didn't see the server restart notices. Lost control of my character, restarted Atlas, and I was sitting on top of the cliff on my bear. I had a very strong -I LOVE YOU GS- moment. In that parallel universe, I set sail into the sunset watching island fade from view with bear on the boat lol.

It's always a terrible choice after being attacked, when full to replenish your vit D and die of over eating, or die from wounds and deficiency. Normally I carry a spare med kit though... Nothing more appropriate than bandaging yourself after a fish and chips On a serious note, it's ok. I don't mind the vit bit. Just remember to eat berries / veg last, as i have never got 'over ate' from berries, but regularly over indulge on my yellows.. tip: don't eat 50 rice in one sitting LOL

Did no one see 'Lucifer' ? Detective Douche plays quite a prominent role in the first season! Later on he becomes just 'Dan' though.

All that needs to happen is that by installing a weight sail, you get a buff that negates the speed penalty of the cargo racks. if you add yet more weight sails, then you can carry even more. Pure cargo freighters will be possible. The problem at the moment for me is that I need to stop playing to work out: before I fully understand at that moment in time, if a cargo container will be helpful.... then, every time I add a stack of wood, to ensure I'm running at optimum. The uncounterable speed penalty on cargo containers is an unnecessary addition. Weight sails = cargo. Speed sails = speed.. handling sails = handling. It's almost too easy.

Well if they nerf the torpedo, they'll have to reduce how costly it is. Can't imagine firing cannonballs that are 80 mythos a piece lol

Then all that needs to happen is that if you are using speed sails / handling sails then it's a toss up between ship speeds and weight limitations... However: To WEIGHT sails, why not in addition to being able to carry more weight anyway, you get a BUFF that negates the penalty on cargo crates? Not many people sail with >2 weight sails anyway.... By doing this, you're bringing the usefulness and a benefit to the neglected sails back to the game, and, I dare say, what an entrance for these poor under used little sailies aw
