  1. Many of us are having terrible difficulty with tamed creatures and NPC crew/thralls sliding off ships. In may cases, this can result in the creature/thrall teleporting off the ship and reappearing someplace in the zone where the player has never even physically visited at all (under the sea floor, middle of the ocean, or along the curtain wall at the grid zone halfway across the zone from where transition occurred). Something we've noticed is that NPC crew attached to sails or cannon, or seated upon chairs, never have difficulty. For crew, this is easy; we place chairs on the ship belowdecks and have any spare/passenger NPC crew seated there. Safe and sound. No such equivalent exists for tames. Please implement the concept of a stall or a tie-down for tamed creatures which uses a similar mechanic that locks the tame down to the ship and solve the problem of unsecured creatures disappearing into the sea.
  2. I have a galleon on which several cannons cannot be assigned to a station group. The cannon work when controlled manually, but NPC crew do not respond to commands on these mounts. The gunports do not open/close with the rest of the ship when the "R" button is used. The ports can be operated manually. These effects render the cannons useless with NPC Crew.
  3. I, too, managed to activate the hidden hyperdrive module on my brig today. Unfortunately, I was not on the brig when it activated. I was on my schooner playing with my cannons and for a moment I thought I'd somehow accidentally sunk my brig. Looking at the map, I found my brig exited hyperspace on another server, just inside the grid line. Anchored. In the deep sea. A quick fast-travel and a half hour later, and I sailed the brig home the slow way. Shame I can't seem to do this on purpose... My experiments must continue!
  4. This bug persists. Affects some tames, not others. Changing servers with the tame seems to fix it.
  5. Hey Grapeshot: Stop pissing off your player base and they won't be compelled to shoot you repeatedly. STOP and LISTEN to what your players are telling you, devs. You are ruining yourselves. You are not telling us anything, so the opinions we form are a result of your actions. Your actions amount to deliberate slap in the face.
  6. Pirate-themed Frogger. That's all sailing is. Many players simply avoid it because it's apparently statistically improbable to sail in a straight line across a zone without colliding with an AoD ship. On land? Kill Alphas! Oh, wait, fire arrows aren't very effective for that any more. Guess we'd better get to work on those stone walls... Oh, wait...
  7. I see multiple people reporting the same thing right now: Elephants can be knocked down and approached, and the text to "Feed Wheat to Tame" appears, but the elephant will not eat. This is multiple unique creatures by multiple characters. One of the Elephants was in the open and knocked down without the aid of a trap in order to verify whether walls are a factor. Same issue. One of those testing noted that she was able to feed a pig, so not all things are affected.
  8. Make the ships rare and worthy of finding. Key concept there: worthy of finding. A challenge you have to go looking for, and a challenge you'll need to be prepared for. Treasure maps are a good example of how to do this well. It should be possible to stumble on them by accident, but only if the player is supremely unaware... for example, a rare weather effect that lets you know there are world-spawned SotD in the area, not unlike the Phoenix effect in Ark SE maps.
  9. Actually, just waiting a bit seems to do the trick. No save file, validation, alt-f4, or similar needed. Just wait until the next server save and suddenly you're back.
  10. This is happening to me multiple times daily. I'm in the midst of one right now where I need to get back to my claim to interrupt a contested flag. I tried to fast travel. Activating the bed takes me to the character select creation screen. So in order to speed things along I suicided so I can log in, see the char select screen, restart, over and over again until my toon finally respawns. Hopefully I don't lose my claim.
  11. No, the ocean is not crowded with hordes of undead armies in spiky breathy speedboats covered in phlegm. The sea should largely featureless, empty, and dull. Seeing another ship should be an infrequent item of curiosity, not a guaranteed ordeal every time we leave shore. Right now we simply have to travel about 30 seconds away from shore to see several ghost ships. In the current state, they are unavoidable. The current state of the game for most players seems to be "hit trees, mess with other players, or fight ghost ships." Where's the exploration? Where are the trade lanes? Prior to the ghost ships, these were things. Make the ghost ships rare and worthy of finding. There's enough to do already without limiting what you can do to "fight ghost ships." Suggestion: Tie ghost ship spawns to a mechanic akin to treasure maps. They don't spawn unless you A.) have a map showing you the spawn site, and B.) actually go there, and C.) stay nearby lest they de-spawn again. C'mon devs, you've learned these lessons. Witness Corrupted dragons in Extinction. This is a solved problem.
  12. Still a problem. This has happened to me as well, multiple times. I can tell when it's going to be a problem when I suddenly cannot access my skills or craft new items. Each time, it has occurred following an unplanned disconnect or server restart of some kind. Instead of re-spawning, I'm at the character selection screen, however, the zone is correct for where my body is, and I can still talk in alliance chat using my correct character name. If I create a new toon, the old toon is apparently lost. It's one thing when this happens to a level 10-20, but for a character past level 30 this starts to become extremely painful. I'm currently on round ~15 or so of restarting steam. I'm about to give up for the night and hope the re-spawn fairy visits me before morning...
