I like the new waterspouts, they are easy mode compared to how they were when the game first launched however, instead of them rolling in randomly like they do on any day maybe have entire, bad weather days, and on those days you get the chance of storms, only? idk, do know its kinda annoying how the waterspout events seem to be attracted to multiple ships in an area or something. Fog and storms at sea, I actually like and I think they need things that will force you to stay awake at the helm like they have but, as well, introduce some rewards for it too and new things that will reward you for staying alert at the helm every time you are sailing. Random events that reward not just ones that punish. Edit: maybe, if you are sailing your way through a storm, random items/bp have a chance of falling on your deck? When fog rolls in, chance encounter of a good thing like, lost ai crew for free(or a some with talents that can only be gotten during this) that can be rescued or something mystical, could happen? I was looking through my old screenshots and remembered the old waterspout spam where they would cluster up soo bad , even if you were alert and good at sailing you were get blasted through the entire thing.. least now you can dip and dodge your way through them easy enough. lol
  2. 980 here, works good for me, if I lag or have fail frame rates its 1. tons of building loading in 2. Something is overspawning (like when fish were/are overspawning big time in lakes) near me. 3. grid is going down for some reason. 4. when I first log in and buildings are loading in fish in the pond overspawn in and..

There are MANY who come up negative in the forums who are honestly, just giving an opinion and they will actually outline why they have that opinion on one thing or another about the game and that's the kind of feedback that is very good for game development. Many of those opinions are just that, an opinion.. some want pvp focus, some want content focus, some JUST want to be able to log in.. heh. I like to read what others are having trouble with or the insights they may have on improving the game even when I personally disagree with them at times. Just because something is valid for me don't make it so for someone else. Now, when you get those post that are for no reason other than to flame the devs or the game and really, have no other purpose, that's nothing but toxic, why are those ops even here. Many many people who DO complain are doing so because they actually ENJOY the base of the game and just want to see it become something brilliant in the end.

I am pretty sure a good reason to not have non freeport islands with anything extra on them, like npc's that offer goods is because, players being players, will just build around them and block them off from other players. Since it atm is very much an Island claiming, land claim game. If they start adding stuff like npc's you got to go talk to, anywhere but, a non build zone.. yeah.. on official the ONLY ones that are ever going to see them is the group that claim that island. Its the same thing for adding any static loot spawns out there, currently. Players are very good at cheese farming the shit out of things like that and keeping it to themselves. Again, adding static goodies to find on official anywhere that is not a NO build zone.. bad in a game where players can build I can see them taking advantage of the multiple freeport grids that are spread across the map however.
  6. I enjoy the building aspects of this game, I love building city type builds or small towns with ports along the shore. I don't care if I can do it in connan or ark or other games, I like that sort of thing in THIS game as well. However, land mass. The only islands I even look twice at are the largest ones OR the ones with a cool feature on them.. The small island with the two skulls facing each other, one crying the other uhh.. spitting up waterfalls.. IS my favorite island in the game it LOOKS like a pirate treasure island.. prolly why I like it. Most of the Large ones as well have a footprint of civilization on them, same thing as to why I may like them more. Too many islands, in my opinion, are too small or too broken up and small or nothing but pillars.. MANY of those islands are undesirable for PvE, just not enough there to warrant picking them over something else.. OR PVP, not enough there to have a secure base on, really.. exposed to all sides. ya that. lol I haven't seen what they are doing on the PTR though, I am sure not many will complain if they just get rid of the islands that just are bleh or add something to them that would make them worth living on. lol. If they make islands bigger though, doesn't that gear players to do MORE land builds and not less of them?

  8. There is some content out on the PTR atm, they may include that or.. might make it wait.. I wasn't sure about if they meant that, that would be implemented or not. oh uh, FOR THE DOLPHINS!
  9. Ya'll got what you wanted: Confirmation about more ships, offline defense, less tames, factions, crossplay, QOL, optimization. People are still thinking of Atlas as a finished game for some reason, it is far from it still, all this stuff takes time.. like months of time YEARS of time, in some cases. I am glad they agree that Atlas needs to focus in a direction and that being of "a pirate game" and want it to feel more alive in the world and even brought up maybe using the Faction idea many of us here have discussed, rather it will be npc only factions or if players could join one or another.. I am GLAD they got that message I am glad to hear they do not intend on making it an Ark by over saturating the world with beasts and leaving them as a secondary thing to be doing in the world and not a focus. Instead, gearing it to pirate things and sailing, as it needs to be. The only thing I didn't mind one way or another was what many of you thought, was the biggest, crossplay. lol. I cared more about the core elements they tend on working on and adding.. NOT, how it affects my current gameplay.. the game WILL be a "new" game by the time they are finished with it and if they can stay on track with what they have outlined, great I don't find my current game play to be anything more than, my time, having fun in the world they provide and being able to see the new stuff as it does come out is kinda neat, even if that means they will be wiping and I will start fresh in the world to see it Look forward to hearing more about what was outlined in the coming months as the team dives into them.
  10. Welp, at least people are not dropping stuff on accident now. As of yesterday, many people couldn't drop anything, had to use drop all or transfer items. Have they put out a fix yet for all that?
  11. Are not games that are "cash grabs" typically, quick easy set up platforms and or copy paste with little effort into making them, for profit? Seems Atlas is in no way and easy game for them to make and a whole lot of effort and time has been spent in development since it's been out, with more content added and bugs to be addressed and all that, that comes from a game in development. Its not like real "cash grabs" where someone tosses out something and they are done. The only reason people started using that term is its the current "in thing" to be doing in a couple months they will start flinging around another one.
  12. Ah, I see. Again, am not a console player, thank you for clearing that up. Being a PC player hell yeah, 100% wipe. Lets get this battle get started the right way, on a clean, uncluttered and untouched, battlefield! .. now back to my SINGLE PLAYER game. lol.. but, ADD those Badges, Grapeshot, let them all know who your "vets" are with a lot of time served behind the helm, in your crazy world, here.

Well, I can see them doing something simple like, awarding badges for console view and steam as well, to players who have spent an X amount of hours in the game while it was still in Development, pre console even as a way to give back to those "loyal" time consumers. But, those loyal players should always keep in mind the same thing many of us tell others "The game is EA, meaning it is not a finished game." Ant let the wipes happen as the need to. lol. All that said, If you want to play Ark on xbox you have to purchase an xbox copy of the game and each expansion, don't you? If that's true, I don't see Atlas PC servers for PC to have anything to do with the console ones... ?
  14. Yup, from a business standpoint, money is indeed king. Being a pc player, I wont touch ark, for instance on console even cross.. Have friends who have invited me to join them and was … Sorry, I need to pass, am busy doing other things. Have fun tough . Do we know how they intend on introducing Atlas to console yet? Will it be a 1 pvp server thing, or are they going to include the coop stuff they are working hard on, it seems?
  15. Well, I am suspecting they will go with what the targeted player base wants, for fresh bodies and cash flow.. What company WOULDNT do that, that's not a "grapeshot" thing. I guess they could stop all progress on the game as to not hurt any feelings for those currently playing the game while it is in development but, that kinda is not going to get the game to a finished state. They may NEED to wipe for it though..
  16. I vote 100% wipe when its time for a wipe, get rid of the old litter, not just inactives but, clean up any left over imprints from old system/changes to the game/additions/. Your and mine EFFORTS and time are being spent on an unfinished game. Once it is a finished game 100% wipe to boot it off as one. About the console.. donno don't care to know... People are going to whine and bitch bout things, no matter what the decision is. lol. Can't please them all If they have to wipe at ANY time during the games Development they will, if they have to do so.

I think the they are meme that every swing they do to chop down that tree is only reminding me that they will have to chop down many many many many more before its all over.. they need another slider on options that only turns down human sounds.. Can quiet the laughing and all but then you cant hear gunshots and stuff..

I always leave one crew spot open because of this, always have, when park ship, call one crew off ship.. before log out, or on some ships always up at least 1 crew slot more than I need and nearly never have to worry about a pesky bird. I tend to collect beasts while out if I find one I really like, that's what got me into the habit of at least one free crew slot as a must for my gameplay but, it comes in handy because of dem birds.
  19. With the decay rates upped and all, I was wondering it if affects a servers performance at all when a lot of things are decaying at the same time?
  20. I do agree on one thing. Would like to see the game progress and aim for a game where, you would see MORE Naval battles than, land raids However they end up doing it.
  21. I thought cats were going to be introduced as a means to both spread and cure the plague. Want a pirate game, get plague infested rats along with it? If anything, would like to see cats/plague as an event that goes off every once in a while. Make cats non breedable.. So they don't mass produce in-between events. imo.
  22. I like this list, well thought out I think ship cannons should stay with good dmg vrs land.. its the cannons use on LAND that should be less damage vrs buildings.. Just a thought. It should be harder to bust into a building on land from land using anything really... than to blast one within range of a ship. imo.. anyway
  23. Then again, I am all for monthly/bi monthly wipes of Atlas. Not a place you are suppose to build and stay forever but, a place you are suppose to build up, go out and conquer. If there was a time limit, people would have goals to "win" by the end time, they would not be building and breeding tons of ships and beast that sit around doing nothing for weeks(months if not attacked or decayed).. they would be focusing on offence and near the end, you will have people using all they got to wipe others off the playing field.. That being said having, some sorta of standing at the end would be nice. Hides, because the no wipers are going to start stomping.. lol. Just my opinion all, not saying you are wrong with yours. Edit to say, ON the PVP servers.. Pve.. let people build their dream vacation spa. and let it set for months along with the limit cap of tames and ships until they get bored and someone else can swoop into the spot
