  1. It is a Sandbox/survival/stitched mmo that is sailing/pirate themed.. it is not "JUST" a pirate game. and this.. My hat.
  2. lol, it is intrusive to the leveling, that's for sure.. I have it turned off on my singleplayer hahahha. I can't be bothered there.
  3. This is a fun an helpful idea.
  4. Have you been actively playing Atlas since the SP and Blackwood were added? Have you already gotten the updates for Atlas this past week and had been playing it this week and suddenly today it all poofed or did you playing a while back ago and just decide to re boot up up this week?
  5. If it is an item you craft in your inventory, you can repair it in your inventory.. if not then, repair them at the station you crafted them from. Remember, your ship has a weight limit and the more weight it has on it the slower it will be. You can level it in weight of course to let it carry more and use cargo racks but, still there is a limit. heh heh.
  6. The area of the map on Napvp, I have not even seen the larger groups or any lager group raiding yet Have seen raids going on down near the equator of the map though. Watched some of a good two hour pvp battle going on down there with two groups both land and sea player levels were not 50 yet and a few of them kept getting owned by a lvl 28. lolol
  7. The way I see it is.. there will be a turnover of ownership of islands and all on the PVP server.. PVE, not so much, unless inactive. I think, opening up a pvp one is the better choice, just because some people will have a head start it wont be long before others will catch up and contests will spring up all over. erm, am speaking as a non Pvp player, I honestly suck at pvp, I get the handshakes and all when ever I engage in it.. well Not when firing a cannon.. find that I am fine there .. Honestly, it is more fair to do it with a pvp server, where new players can catch up quickly if they dedicate the play time and pass even, all but the Established like minded "no life" players.. PvE, if pc were let in a week in advance..not so much so... I am solo sneaking around the Napvp server, I feel like a deer about to get pounced on all the time.. /cry lolol
  8. Think the one server only is up this week so they can do last minute testing for the crossplay, leaving the other servers to be fresh starts for the crossplay when it goes live. If they opened up Napvp like they have, for this testing and said, well .. its up for testing but, we are going to wipe it again in a week, don't think anyone would log in resulting in .. well, unable to test it... You have little patience in life, it seems. Its the technical stuff to do with connections and basics they are testing out, not the playstyle.
  9. Yeah, they do it on unofficial Rp servers where they have rules in place and can monitor rulebreaks and take care of things but, groups like that have a mutual respect for one another and monitor themselves to begin with so, don't need mechanics to stop them form screwing up everyone elses gameplay fun. heh. Heck, darksiderp even had a few people logging in every day to work a post office and shipexpress to retrieve and sail mail out to people all over the map, was great. In chapter (season), I think 2 the Royal Navy made the mistake of detaining then exicuting the mail man what resulted in every other Company rather they were Pirate or Trader or/and random civilians instantly hating the Royal Navy as the news got out across the seas that they had done so.. don't mess with the postman.. nope.
  10. hrm, my SP ocean is working fine and all I did was delete the SP ocean folder in the menu above my blackwood folder in that menu. ee. I am playing on sp and napvp this last couple days. Validate his files on steam maybe?
  11. Yes, you can do Admin spawn and cheats on SP and change some of the ini for your SP stuff, as well.. mm
  12. Did you delete your old SP ocean game and start a fresh one? Do you use any mods on Ocean SP map that may not be updated to run smoothly on the new Ocean map stuff? Blackwood is still Blackwood, it wasn't messed with.. Ocean map, however had a lot done to it.
  13. Went with a cold freeport... chillyness lvl 8 and out of there within a couple hours, including a couple stretch breaks, spent nights at random campfire w/torch out, had to eat tons but drink little, made it to 8, got the sloop and out of the freeport grid without dying once though. Proud of myself
  14. Ya can tell that wasn't a pvp build I really like it when people actually build for a town/port feel, instead of a layered box.. Nice build ya did there!
  15. So, did Jat say that when the NA Pvp comes online and the pc players can hop in and start playing that some of the dev's or chosen people by the devs will be on their xbox's playing along with everyone on pc, for testing? If so.. get em!
  16. er.. The Ocean map itself is being overhauled, SP uses the same Ocean Map as Official.. any island/grid you have base on.. on the Pve official now.. wont exist(if that grid was changed or moved) on the new map even if you transferred it over to the Sp Ocean map (what will be the new map too?)
  17. Ships/seas/sailing improvements and additions wont begin until after they have gotten the base of the game QOL and all locked down.. yes it IS an awesome priority.. The new items being added and changes now are the stuff that have been on the ptr already. New ships wont be addressed until further down the development line as they see how things go. That being said, yes, still only the raft and 4 ships but, unlike most games, they are ships you can build on and customize at least, not just 4 ships.
  18. From comments I think the speed sails are broke because they decided to break them so people wouldn't use upgraded speed sails to be 10x faster than they wanted people to be sailing. They have been broke, on purpose But, good news there is they intend on fixing them in the next stage of development along with other ship/sailing Improvements, they want to make all travel a bit faster for people.
  19. If you are planning on staying out on the water and not having a base, one of you really needs to head over to the Seamanship tree and learn at least down to shipwright (to be able to build a sloop) intermediate shipwright for a schooner, even better.. and at least medium sails.. There is always a chance of your ship sinking out there and if you can not build another its, back to a freeport to get the cheap starter sloop again. heh. For those that do not like Brigs, they are my goto ship, big enough to hold a bear or two and a few other beasts on deck and if not leveled for fighting, they have plenty of storage for my solo needs. heh.
  20. erm, I wouldn't think of it as focusing on one tree but, picking skills off trees that work best for you.. I think, in the end the only two trees I ever fully have are beast matery and captaineering.. rest are just random skills off each that I pref.. heh.
  21. Depending on how they did the re work on the islands Salt is something most players need (until they can use make ice) So, if you are planning on clearing the grids like you say, you might want a supply of salt handy on your ship incase, you bump into a group of players who are active in making gold but, have no salt in the area.. for a trade
  22. Well, since they said they have changed up the biomes and such.. Not sure where they are now :X Again, grapple hook for snagging flotsam trickles in gold as you go, shipwrecks are pretty good but, would suggest one of you invest into a Diving platform to go down to get them (sharks ignore you if you are in a diving suit) need fish oil to "power it". Freeports are the ONLY place to buy crew until you are ready to destroy SotD and picking rescued crew out of the water from em. If not going to actively do chest.. yeah flotsam and shipwrecks.. or piracy against other players.. bout the only way to go. lol.
  23. Unless or until they change it... Food needs ATM, Meat, fish, vegi/herb, fruit/berries.. Pink/blue/yellow/red are the color codes for them on the vitamin scale. Don't over eat on any one of them though, berries don't fill you up hardly at all. Once you get prime meats (cows and sharks give prime for example).. 1 cooked prime meat, 1 cooked prime fish, 7sih vegi and 10+ berry will put your Vitamin bars about equal..wait a couple of tics, rinse and repeat and you can slowly fill the bars up even.. Save the berries for last since you can eat plenty of them and they wont fill you up. Having both the improved Vitamin stuff (first skill page) and the over eating tolerance (food section) helps a lot with that but, not skills you will want to focus on right away. For instance, I usually get a bow as soon as I can.. helps with the meat and leveling by killing things, since its the first ranged.. can kill alphas from high points and stuff like that. water bag, campfire, basic tools.. solo.. I go for all the basics when first leveling.. down to smithy (to have metal asap) can toss in basic low level taming as well if I don't plan on building my own ships/base right away. I as well grab the starter for ship building tab so I can get both pirace/captain unlocked for grapple/cage and crew larder/ship chest. hrmms .. yeah I work to unlock several tabs even though, I only want things off the frist two rows for the first chunk of levels. Wont need melee weapons or armor right away but will want basics of it for the Fur armor once I plan on reaching colder climates. food storage- it does spoil slower in a crew larder but, will want to get the bags and always be on the look out for islands with Salt to make preserving salt for the food.. until/unless you can invest into icebox and ice. You will find having climbing picks, or better, grapple hook a near MUST have in atlas.. I never go anywhere without a grapple on my bar.. lol. Getting on ships, away from wild beasts, staying on deck when you encounter a siren..yup.. hardly use my ladders just grapple back onto ship. You will want to get your basic skills and equipment first. To build a basic ship you will need smithy and loom(too make sails and rope ladders) and wood building (to craft ceilings/walls/ramps n stairs).. At the freeport though, you can get the ai at the dock to build you a raft or ramshackle sloop, to get out of the freeport grid on.. would upgrade to a schooner once one of you can build one, though. You will need enough Crew to man each sail and or cannon if you don't have live players to do it for ya.. so pick up gold where ya can to prepare for buying and paying crew.
