  1. The temperature game mechanic is damn stupid. The times I have gone from one temperature extreme to the other in less than 10 seconds!
  2. I do have the "get gud crown". I have the usual cow and chicken in the back yard, just like everyone else, and I have points in the vitamin skills, but there are still times when it is just much more convenient to die and respawn. I may be travelling longer than I planned to for some reason, or I may be in a region where fruit is not common and, unlike vegetables, you can't grow fruit. When I am sailing I usually never bother with food and water at all - there is no point.
  3. It does. It's just so easy to bypass it's not worth having it at all. Even with points spent on vitamin skills I just die and respawn 50% of the time. They could get rid of the f'ing irritating mini-games too. If I have spent points on a skills in the firearm skill tree, that should be all I need to do to speed things up - I should not have to continue putting up with a poxy mini-game as well.
  4. Roadster, that is awesome. Thanks so much!
  5. Not unlike Atlas at one point. The Hammer could even kill a player on PvE - good times, eh!
  6. Why bother writing it in such a sloppy format that no-one will read it? It's a pity that at 41 you think you don't need to learn anything more. Life is both a battle and a classroom, and if you give up on either you've already failed.
  7. Snap. He can't even SPELL "right".
  8. EVERYBODY. What, this company make a deadline? We ALL know better than that...
  9. This is a bug that affects random items from time to time. Fast Travel usually fixes it, and if that doesn't do the trick death/respawn in really stubborn cases.
  10. It needs wiping, badly, but the new claim system is no improvement, to say the least, so it will need wiping again in a couple of months.
  11. It seems Lawless is still the best place to build in PvE then?
  12. Yes, since the Devs don't seem to have a grasp on how to fix anything, this IS what we will be seeing after the wipe.
  13. Ah, I see the problem. You failed to fully understand the intent behind the term "initial excitement" which is Adultspeak for "hype" but, from your use of the hideously insincere and childish Millennialism "my dude" I have lowered my expectations accordingly and will henceforth aim only to address adults.
  14. In the almost 3 months since the game has been available, the devs haven't inspired confidence in their skills. In fact, confidence has shrunk on a daily basis. I've seen the number of players at 55k initially, 35k after the initial excitement and now, because the game is in such a state that they had to announce a wipe prior to a very large patch, I see 5,500 players on tonight. Some of those missing players see no point in wasting their time until the patch, some will probably never return. What's not depressing about that?
  15. So, if they do the same thing all the time, why not have people waiting to attack them as they flee to Freeport?
  16. Effectively, they will. They already know where the best resources are and the best sites to build, and all servers will be able to be chosen as home servers so you will be able to pretty much start anywhere you like in any case. They might just spawn in the closest Freeport, gather cheap resources and head off with a fleet of Ramshackle Sloops, which would make it easier at their chosen destination - that's what I would do. Some other people out of the old Company might well go straight to the site of the old base and pillar/floor the area in order to prevent other people building there. No doubt they have a Discord channel so they will be able to organise themselves easily enough and designate roles. They'll have everything nailed down with the basic stuff in a few hours and dominate the area again within the day.
  17. I just ignore mini-games. I can't believe someone thought they were a good idea.
  18. You're 45? Pffft, just another kid to someone my age. You write like a kid, anyway. Sounds like you only started playing games very recently, too. It's only $20 of pixels on your screen - try not to take it so seriously. The grown-ups don't.
  19. The White Star Line had something like that.
  20. Too many pople have too little in real-life to worry them, so in their sheltered lives and limited mindsets a computer game becomes something paramount to them, at an almost tribal level. The amount of importance they attach to $20 of pixels is both funny and at the same time, pitiable.
  21. I'm happy about a wipe, but it should have been immediate, not pointlessly delayed and also announced three weeks in advance. I have games where I can accomplish a great deal in three weeks AND get to keep it and I am off to play those instead of spinning my wheels in Atlas.
  22. I'd rather they just wiped immediately. Then I could get on with things and have fun. I'm not about to waste productive time on something that is pointless, so back to other games for now.
  23. Haven't played for several weeks, hoping they'd sort the game out and I'm just going to stop until after they supposedly fix it after the wipe.
  24. "Survive the wild, despite being swarmed by countless wolves, bears, sundry wildlife and deadly humans... all at the same time! Build your homestead... IF you can find land... and lose it overnight! Repeatedly! Work with others to tame the WIld West... if you can trust them, don't have resource spawns walled off and aren't blocked in by foundations and pillars!" "Based on the same winning formula as Atlas!! Tried, tested and coded to perfection!"
