  1. Resources spawn so slowly it's not worth letting someone else build on your land. Even with 30% tax they're just preventing resources from respawning. Unless you own an entire island it's always better to deny people building rights on your land. The 30% I get from them doing this is less than what I lose from you preventing resource spawns, and since there are more people around, we're fighting over resources so I'm getting even less.

Most of us do not own enough land to just allow other people to build on it (and I've got about 20 claims down).

Don't even bother coming to 014. This ignorant dev team in their infinite wisdom picked ONE PLACE on the whole stinking map where 90% of the population NEED to go in order to  get rid of an absolutely IGNORANT debuff.   Can you guess what the ping times are like in 014?

Trust me, it's like day 1 in a freeport all over again.

Whenever you see "server performance improvements" in the patch notes, what this means is "more people quit so the servers aren't as stressed".

Now that people have to go somewhere, the servers gonna crap themselves hard again. The devs didn't think this through at all, terrible system with even worse implementation.

Also, if the server resets the fountains location changes. Looks like they are going to reset so it wont be on O14 afterwards.

  3. Not even kidding. As long as you got someone to invite you to your old company and a few trash treasure maps, you can remake, grab 3-4 treasure maps and with the discovery bonus be back at level 40+ in an hour.

It'd take me longer than this to sail to the fountain of youth, and then I'd have to fight through the 100 super aggressive spawns that can just 1-2 shot me no matter what armor I'm wearing who all have thousands of Hp and are basically unkillable for anything short of a group of 20+ people.

Unless you got a huge company or have some kind of cheese, just remake your character. It'll be quicker and less painful than running for a fountain of youth.

What are you literally aiming to do nerf everything so bad we just sit and stare at each other?

If you literally suck that bad go play some solitaire or something. I can just hear it now nerf the aces! :anchor:

I got full plate armor that is all blue quality. 1-2 shots from crap on those islands still kills me.

And now that all of my stats got nerfed into the ground I die even quicker and can't even run away since I don't have as much stamina or stamina regen.

Not that I'll be taking anything with me to get to these islands. The closest one to me is 2 hours away by ship. I'll be respawning a bunch and suicide running to them, as I suspect many people will be.

Aren't certain Islands just worse to live on than others? They have a greater variety of resources but then more predators in the process.

We only have snakes/spiders that are hostile in our island but then we don't have gems/crystals/salt.

Some islands are just straight up better than others. Was on an island with crystals, gems, a ton of iron and even syrup trees (sap). It also has a few growable crops on it as well as an abundance of all the basic resources. It's animal spawn rate was decent too and almost none of them were hostile.

Then I went to another island that had nothing. Only wood and stone (and recently fiber). And it's full of hostile animals, mostly wolves that roam around in massive packs just killing everything else.

Some islands are just great. Others are trash that people only live on because they have no other choice.

Is this seriously how they think this game should be played?  Someone please explain to me the fucked up logic of the dev's that has so far produced a 'nay' when asked to nerf aggros.

Devs don't play the game, so they don't know how bad it is and when making changes they have no point of reference to judge whether a change is good or bad.

Simplely put Lawless servers where never meant to be a place to live forever.. was meant to be a place to get a sloop maybe schooner and then get out there and find land... Which the way land claims are now.. VERY easy to get land. Rent it from someone or steal it..  IF your complaining cause you cant find land with in 1 or 2 servers. you need to go further.

Wrong. This patch made it harder to claim land. Everywhere is already taken and stealing claims takes forever now. They added a "the more claims someone has, the quicker it is to steal them" but it's bugged. Everyone is counted as having 0 claims which means it takes 9 hours to steal.

And if someone steps over it for a minute while you're gone, you lose that progress anyway.

The only places not claimed are the places that are so inhospitable no one can survive long enough to claim the land. When you have 100 fortitude, fur armor and still die to the cold in a minute it's not worth trying to claim that island, especially when it only spawns wolves who can chew through a 10000 hp wall in minutes anyway (even when they only do 2 damage per hit).

  8. Without alphas most of us wouldn't be able to level up anymore. Need thousands of exp and killing anything else gives 1-5 exp max. Alphas give 5-10 exp just for hitting them once and killing one can give hundreds of  exp, maybe even over 1000.

They're annoying but once you hit higher levels your choice is kill thousands of animals for 1 level, or kill 2-3 alphas.

I noticed that the wolves behaved differently between PvP and PvE. I thought it was an intended difficulty increase for PvE. They attack super rapidly and if you do not shoot them in the face right away they will kill you. On PvP you can side step them pretty easily.

There are two kinds of wolves it seems.

In the lawless areas surrounding freeports, wolves are pretty easy to kill. Much slower, less aggressive and just attack slower.

In other areas (any that you can claim) they're buffed as fuck. Hit faster, harder and with longer range. It's crazy. I've seen islands with 20+ wolves just flying around at light speed killing every single animal that spawns. Noped the fuck out of there straight away.

I suspect people saying "just kill them" simply haven't seen the second kind of wolf.

  10. Anyone saying "just level up and kill them" obviously hasn't seen just how bad wolves are.

They always spawn in groups of at least 2 and have a tendency of spawning right behind players.

Have about 300 Hp at level 1.

Attack 3 times a second for about 25 damage on a naked person.

Have a larger attack range than any melee weapon.

Knock you flying 10-20ft with every hit.

Run faster than a player ever can (and for longer).

    Can attack through walls/ships.

Have a massive aggro range and almost never drop aggro.

They also roam around a lot because of how their AI works (they chase and kill any animal in their aggro range, so they move around constantly).

There is no way to fight them fairly. Saying "just get a pike" is stupid. You'll land one hit by the time they land 6-9 hits and by then you'll be dead anyway.

The only way to deal with wolves right now is.

Shoot them from a safe place (up a cliff, building, trap them and so on).

Hope they attack a bear (a bear can kill 1 wolf, but 2 wolves kill a bear) or an alpha so it kills them.

Very unreliable but a blunderbuss can 1 shot kill them if you do it at point blank range and get a decent headshot. Only works vs 1 wolf (and they come in packs).

That  is it. Outside of this, wolves will just kill you. Your best bet is to just avoid them, but if you can see their health bar you're probably already dead.

  11. Getting sick of these things spawning out of my asshole then attacking me 20 times a second just to blast my armor to pieces while killing me before they run to my nearest building and start attacking that 20 times a second with their telekinetic bite that has a 20 meter range and radius and somehow hits about 20 of my building pieces at once.

  12. The problem isn't just that people can spam as many claims as they want, it's that in PVE if they sleep inside the claim, you can NEVER steal it. Not even after the 3 day timer is up. I sailed around the world and saw plenty of claims I could have stolen, except the owner of it built a tiny hut, logged out inside of it and never came back. Most of them have been gone for weeks but since their sleeping body counts as contesting the claim, you cannot steal from them.

Another problem is large companies are already splitting into two and exploiting the claiming mechanic. What they're doing is claiming an area with one group, then with the second company, they claim around the circumference of the first claim. What this does is prevent claim stealing from ever happening on PVE. You cannot contest claims with this set up because you cannot put a claim flag too close to someone elses claim (only inside of it). Problem is, since they have two different claims, if you try to put a claim flag in one, it's too close to the other. So you can never steal claims no matter how inactive these companies become.

  13. I've been sailing for hours. The difference between a lawless home server and  other areas is insane. Other claimable areas are almost empty of anything. Thousands of claim flags but not a building in sight. Some islands have 1-2 buildings on them total. These companies have so much land they can't even use it all, not even a tiny fraction of it.

Meanwhile home servers are ghettos. Islands so full of buildings there is no room to walk. People fighting even over a tiny little piece of land.

It's 1% of players owning over 90% of the land. While the other 99% are fighting over the remaining 10% of land. The thing is, the game is actively in favour of the people who own claims. Not only is it stupidly easy to claim land, but it's harder to steal it from others (and on PVE impossible to steal).

If the developers are making it so most people can't play the game, they'd better start giving everyone refunds. And maybe they should add a warning that you can only play this game with a huge group of people.

They could just allow for all 10 numbers to be used and the pins being possible to be only 1 number up to all 10, then it will take a nice chunk of time for such griefer to go thro whatever that huge number is.

Not really. Brute forcing a 10 digit long numeric code takes seconds for a computer. The only real solution is to remove the stupid pin system and just add locks. Why the hell is there even a stupid pin system in a pirate game anyway? Since when did pirates have number pads on their chests? Oh wait, they just took it from Ark and changing it requires effort.
