  1. Not really. Brute forcing a 10 digit long numeric code takes seconds for a computer. The only real solution is to remove the stupid pin system and just add locks. Why the hell is there even a stupid pin system in a pirate game anyway? Since when did pirates have number pads on their chests? Oh wait, they just took it from Ark and changing it requires effort.
  2. The land claim system isn't going to get changed as the current system is specifically how the developers wanted it to work. They're even bragging about how awesome it is that huge chunks of land are claimed by companies on Twitter. It's retarded but the game is working the way the developers want, why would they change it?
  3. Atlas is a game where you spend forever punching trees and picking cotton to build a ship, then you lose it in minutes to a bug. That is the entire game.
  4. Yeah we all want to spend weeks building ships to lose them in 2 minutes. Totally this is how the game should work. Also, if you can't claim land you can't even build a damned ship anyway.
  5. Same here. Just lost everything because of it.
  6. If it's on your claim you can steal it. Outside of that build a container on it, fill the container with junk until the raft goes over weight (900 usually). Once this happens the raft will rapidly lose health and sink in a few minutes.
  7. It's not that the map is small. It's just that 90% of it is water and basically just empty, useless space. All the islands are tiny and it's too easy for people to entirely claim them.
  8. Hundreds of ships spawning in and destroying everything? Skill tree reworked to make it harder to do anything? Resources taking forever to respawn? Yeah it was on purpose. They said a galleon would take over 1000 hours to build, but people had 10-20 of them in a day or two.
  9. You think making that area claimable will fix that? It wont. The only difference will be all those shipyards will vanish because no one can build them anymore. You still wont own the island, it will still be harvested to death, the only difference is an alpha company will own it.
  10. It was done on purpose, same as making the skill tree take more points and resources respawn a lot slower. People were getting ships too quickly and the developers had to purge the server of all ships while making it a lot harder to get them. It was suppose to take "1000 hours" to get a galleon. The large companies had over 20 in 2 days.
  11. And you know who will claim the lawless areas? The 2-3 mega companies per server. You're not going to own it, nor will any of your friends. If you make those areas claimable, you may as well just ban anyone who is not part of a mega company because they wont be able to do anything anymore.
  12. That's PVP servers, which are never going to be playable for most people. You may as well not bother on PVP without being part of a huge company. At least on PVE people can still go to one of the starter lawless areas and do something.
  13. Lets not. Because within minutes they'll be fully claimed then most people will literally never be able to build a ship. At least with how it works now, people can go to those islands and build a ship. If you revert them back, you're locking 90% of players out of the game.
  14. Anything bigger than a raft will just get destroyed.
  15. It is that bad. Until a few hours ago there was a bug preventing ghost ships from even spawning, it got fixed and now there are ghost ships everywhere. They've purged the world and destroyed every single ship. Only rafts are safe.
  16. And no one can even build ships anymore. Soon as you try 20 ghost ships spawn in and destroy it.
  17. Pretty much every ship in the game has been destroyed now. Ghost ships everywhere. Even the biggest 1000 member clans are stuck using rafts now.
  18. On one hand, I can spend valuable skill points on a bunch of skills that don't do much then waste loads of time harvesting food and crafting it into better stuff. On the other hand, I can stash all my items in a chest then go for a swim and maybe punch a shark. It's not really a hard choice to make, is it?
  19. Of course they don't. And if they do it's using cheats and god mode to "simulate" how a real player would play. The developers do not understand how their own game works because they've never played it like a real player. Because of that they don't know how to balance it at all.
  20. Problem is, the current systems in place are trash. You cannot balance eating with vitamin levels, it's just not balanced at all. What normally happens is you're either starving to death but all of your vitamin bars are full. So if you don't eat, you die, but if you do eat, you also die. Or the opposite happens, where your hunger bar is full, but your vitamin bars are empty. So again, if you don't eat you will die, but if you eat you will also start dying. The second problem with the hunger system is how rapidly it depletes and how little food gives back to it. Your hunger bar empties in minutes, especially if you're doing anything. But if you kill and butcher an animal, then cook all 20+ of it's meat, this doesn't even fill you up fully (and you'll overdose on pink vitamins and die anyway). Being cold makes it even worse, one time I was only slightly cold but losing well over 1 hunger per second. I was ramming meat and berries into my mouth but was starving to death faster than I could eat, and this was on a freeport starter island! Don't even get me started on how fast food decays meaning you can't even stockpile it. What a horrible system. Given all of this, drowning yourself is just the quicker and easier option. It's way too tedious to try and micromanage this system because it's just broken.
  21. This is what has happened right now. Every island is full of small claims. With a claim that needs time and effort to grow, everyone will be able to snag a small claim but growing it will take time, and the developers/server owner would easily be able to dictate the amount of time needed to grow a claim. Also since a player/company can only expand their claim and not just plant a claim down anywhere they want, even if they do destroy a smaller persons claim, they cannot put down a claim and own it. They need to expand outwards from their original claim location. Depending on how far away they are, this could take months, maybe even years. (Owning a claim would require you be in a company, and if a company disbands or joins another, they'd lose their claims so you can't have 100 players in a company spamming their own claims to land grab)
  22. It's broken right now and everyone knows it. It's basically just pillar spam from Ark but a feature. Here is how it needs to work. 1. You need a skill to build a flag. This isn't difficult to unlock but would need maybe level 10 or so before you can reach it. 2. You can build 1 flag, and it takes materials. Nothing too costly, maybe a few hundred wood, stone and fibers. You can only place 1 flag down and if you have one you cannot place another. 3. When the claim is placed down, it gains experience as you do things (like ships do when you use them). If you're in the claim it gets bonus experience. 4. When your claim levels up, you can place down 1 more claim flag. But this flag has to be inside of your current claim. Each new flag you build costs more resources and levelling up your claim takes longer. A small claim might take an hour to level up once, while a big claim might take a day and a huge claim could take a week or more. 5. For someone to steal your claim, they must destroy your flags then build their own flag and start their own claim. Destroying a flag means they must go up to it and hit it until it breaks (shoot it with a cannon ETC). Protecting them with walls and such will be important. Additionally, when your claim levels up, you can select between expanding it with a new flag, or fortifying it which does not let you place a new flag but makes all your current flags harder to destroy. In PVE instead of destroying flags, players must counter claim them. This is something they build and place inside of a claim, it will slowly damage one flag (the closest to it) until it's destroyed. Only one counter claim can be built and placed at a time but the owner of it can pick it up and move it around after using it (but it'll need repairing). To stop a counter claim, the owner of the original claim must be on their claim, this will stop their flags being damaged, slowly heal their flag and shield it for 30 minutes from further damage.
