Developer Live Stream Q&A - Deadline: 1st of May
Jack Shandy replied to INVALID's topic in General Discussion
Ship sails need a rework: Biggest problem I see is you named them for what they do, not what they are. I would suggest Square rig sails: Fastest but has a large drop off if not sailing downwind. Not fast at turning. Bermudan Rig: Can change direction fast. Not fast but drop off is minimal, will be faster than square rig sailing upwind. You already have: Velocity, Acceleration, Angular Acceleration, and variable effects due to wind angle in the game. You can then add any number and type of sail by using a name not a descriptor. Is this something you would consider? -
I thought i'd found a work around, although it was a bit buggy a couple of times. Join another server, create new character if you have to, once in, exit to menu. You can now change back to your server and log in. first time i could not interact with anything but was in, logged out. tried logging back in, got stuck on primalgamedata again, logged into other server and back again. seemed to be working fine but: Tabbed out to write this and battle eye kicked me again. will try getting back in and see how long i can stay in. I can only stay in about 4-5 minuits then get kicked again.
-
Was kicked with message battle eye lost connection or some such wasn't on the screen long enough to see well. now I'm stuck loading primalgamedata_BP, tried verifying game files nothing seems to work.
-
As Forb said pork pies work fine, and fish & Chips. the two together give all needed vitamins plus tonnes of food. very easy to make, 30 per stack and 5 hour spoil timer in inventory.
-
What's the range of BP's from the wrecks?
-
EU PVE - I5 Shipwreck Island, base halfway down the west coast (at work, so can't do the CCC thing) Large stone platform is loosing ceiling pieces periodicaly - have been replacing with stacked foundations so don't know if it's still happening, will check when i get home. Edit: Yup, I fixed it all with foundations, so can't show it anymore.

they are not solo's. there are 4 of them with 3 friends in another company. And who knows they may have befriended other small companies by the time they get good enough to attempt end game content. But as it stands there are 7 of them, more than enough to do the end game content currently in game. The only thing standing in thier way is large companies having thier fun harrasing the little guys.

Cooked food provides no increase in some vitamins
Jack Shandy replied to mouflon77's topic in Bug Reports
came across the same, the beef buns takes 3 meat to cook but gives no vitamin B. Once you get into intermediate cooking you can balance your diet, with fish & chips and pork pies. both are a bit heavy on the meat / fish & maize / wheat requirements and provide a bit too much food when not realy active. It would be nice to be able to get a balanced diet with a few more pairs of food or drinks, as some crops can't grow in every biome. (we're lucky only laking being able to grow potatos, but can dig them up quite nicely) -
Plant a few crop plots, once done you dont need the skill, and feed your pets and crew vegetables, large food amount and long spoil timer. Elephant, giraffe, bear & rhino, 1 run of each should keep you in repair materials for weeks. Then the only upkeep is gold. Use whats in the game to make your upkeeping quick and simple, leaves more time for sailing the oceans and having fun.

Good changes, but a choice needs to be made
Jack Shandy replied to Realist's topic in General Discussion
you do brighten my day with your drivel. -
not saying it's not good. Just that previous system with tweek might have been better. Openening up added depth, trading water. As to carrying that much, a bear with 2.6k weight can carry a lot of barrels.
-
I would have been happy with the previous system with one slight change - The ability to empty a barrel directly into a resevour. we were traveling to an island with a freshwater lake with a load of barrels (you can fill them in your inventory), back home we would empty them into our resevours to water the garden. (had to use jugs) If they had kept this system with that small change it would have been great. As it would have added to the things you could trade, load up your ship with full barrels and travel the dessert regions selling them and collecting the empties to refil on the next trip.
-
Happy tenant here, we didn't have the company size to get the island we aimed for. And like most the guys that claimed the island aren't dicks. Water is now sorted, had no trouble filling barrels on another island to water our garden, but easier now. We are having fun, keep it up.

Colonies offline protection failed : Reason

Someone could always suggest a raid window length based on company size! Just a random thought while reading this - figure out the durations yourselves. -
Colonies Company size going up to 75...
Jack Shandy replied to Billy Bones's topic in General Discussion
Don't fight each other, don't want to figth small tribes. - Go play PVE Only if provoked. So you get attacked by a couple guy's having a bit of fun. What happens? you go wipe them? Force them to join you? make them leave the game? or (and i'll need a lot of convincing if this is the case) Have some fun in a naval battle and leave it at that as you want some fun next week too? -
Not sure about the issue, but if you want nearby Honey try I5 lots there.
-
You get a huge great blue "fertile soil xx%" across your screen when attempting to place in a place that'll give you water. found a spot (45% fertile) right outside our base, (now inside) in a dessert region. put 12 reservoirs all linked with pipes, it now feeds 30 plots and has plenty left over for cooking and drinking.

Bull and bear, very easy to tame now. just need to stand somewhere near the front leg. Elephant, sweet spot by front leg seems to be about the same size as before, it's breathing can sometimes move you off the spot. best location is when breathing moves the sweet spot to you then away again every couple of seconds. Not tested any others since update. edit: had a bear do that 90 degree turn thing, put me behind it so was odd but didn't effect the taming.
