I placed a shipyard and made a sloop like normal and placed everything but the sails. when tried to place sails it said must be placed on a ship which i thought was odd....i released ship and still couldnt place sails...then noticed sloop taking dmg,,,still hasnt moved since released it and then booooom it sunk right in the shipyard... well there goes 2 hrs.....

hey man try this this worked for my friend,,,, so make a charcater on the server and choose a random spawn, then exit game and steam and reload and select the area your character was in last a2 a3 etc (the original character) as your spawn. should fix...but wont guarantee it...
