ARK was never wiped, some new servers added. I can easily see Atlas with no wipe as well and no new servers either.

I really doubt this. 1 Atlas server is so expensive since its 225 actual servers. Ark legacy servers, the completely unmoderated EA servers, are slowing being culled. This culling really cannot happen with Atlas. But who knows maybe the cash shop will be successful to support the servers.

I can see a youth item added, it would probably make the devs lots of money.

It's a server on your own PC that dynamically loads the full 15x15 map as you play.  Usage overheads are reportedly quite low.   If I can do it right (I think I have port forwarding issues) I'll bid goodbye to Official servers forever.  I'm going to watch the instructional videos when I get home.

I trying setting up a solo server, before this program was developed. Sadly, port forwarding isn't possible my mobile isp. Game need LAN server support.

Yup Ark was a better start i remember every week or every other week them adding new dinos and that shit was awesome.

Going back and looking at the statistic for early Ark EA. It's was more than twice as populated and didn't really lose players for the first couple months.

Atlas on the other hand had the huge refund frenzy. It's player base started declining within a few days. And has continued to decline (obvious weekend spikes).

Well in that case play PVE. Its the mode without any PVP which is what you want right?

Except PvE still have PvP....The land claim nonsense and the sinking ship exploits.

The land claim system should have been completely different for PvE. Limits in placed. But WC/GS simply turn off player-player damage and called it PvE to make money.

Yes it does require port forwarding (which some people have issues with setting up given ISP/router restrictions), but if you get it set up you can play just like Ark single player running the server on your game  PC or LAN.  Just need avail CPU/MEM which it does not need as much as you would think and the program lets you choose from 1-9 open servers so has flexibility in making it fit on what you have.

I have an isp restriction. Mobile ISP dosen't work. So for now I will just stick with Ark. I am still hoping Atlas gets to the point that it's playable for me, cause renting a server isn't an option.

You do not need a LAN menu just put it in steam favorites using your internal IP and query port and it will show up in favorites.    Now this is not as user friendly to use as ARK was (port forwarding multiple servers) but once you get past that it works great.   Although you do have to still deal with updates like that last one that trolled those in sloops searching for FoY by making the damned AI impossible for noob and solos to deal with.   But once you realize it is a MMO that you can play private solo and look for the gameplay tweaks and mods you can make it more to your liking...

When I request LAN server support, I am not talking about a LAN menu. I am talking about the server and the client communicating behind a LAN with no port forwarding required, like Ark.

I am not being a white night, but when all else fails name calling is so fun aint it?

So you think none of the constructive criticism in this thread is relevant and have 0 criticism of the game? If so, that exactly being a white knight.

The steam chart statistics clearly show Atlas is losing population and Ark's population hasn't been effected.

Without decent, non-punitive sailing, ATLAS is just an inferior ARK with worse tames on cramped islands. But yet, sailing is set up with moments of guaranteed failure you cannot prepare for. As the FoY example illustrates, this is not a bug, but a feature of ATLAS.

Therefore I ask you, with sailing designed to be a frustrating crapshoot by Grapeshot, why not just continue playing ARK which is superior in all other aspects?

Agreed. Why isn't Atlas an improvement? Did they not think through any of the gameplay mechanics?

Why can't the developer's just be transparent with the community? There have been numerous reports about characters getting spontaneously deleted but there has been no response. Sinking numerous hours of lour lives into a game to only have it disappear without reason is BS. Damn how hard is it to say "we fucked up" to the consumer. It shouldn't be hard to have a character restored when it was deleted.

Lmao. Character still get deleted in Ark, a released game. I would expect Atlas to be the same copy and paste. Not surprised at all.

Almost every building game i've played over the many years a triangle piece was usually half a the square piece. Makes sense right???  Then came the facepalm moment in Atlas.

Well Atlas came from Ark. No triangle foundations.

Because it's in it's F'ing 1st month of being released in EA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     Why?????     So you expect things that didn't get implemented on Ark after a year or more to be available after a month!   LUL

This thread isn't about things not yet implemented, except for my SP suggestion. It about the current gameplay not being enjoyable and not providing incentive to continue playing.

LOL, and you forgot to mention the really fun part of Wurm. Spending YEARS incessantly grinding for skills and many of those grinding sessions are just mindless, like grooming a horse over and over and over again.

Well. I was mostly talking about the awesome systems, ones that Atlas is missing.

But Atlas has the same grind. Its just not as sophisticated. And combat is more modern.
