  1. If enough people quit playing the steam ranking will drop. For an MMO, it's in the devs best interest to not only make money off initial sales, but player retention. And the eventual cash shop.
  2. How much player or potential player interest is there for a single player mode? Either like Ark with the client running the server or LAN support (no port forwarding or NAT loopback needed).

If this was a better survival/mmorpg hybrid things like this might have been added. But it's really just a survival game.
  4. I think the loading screen idea world be great as the server switches over. I would have been happy with a 2x2 solo server, but it wouldn't work through LAN and that's the only way I could host. I had to refund Atlas, never even got to play.
  5. Yeah. I made a custom 1x1 by tweaking the one from cpjet64 tutorial. Sadly on mobile internet I cannot do the NAT loopback required to actually connect to my server. I need LAN only server. So I refunded, never actually got to play. Have 0 interest in official servers. I wouldn't mind unofficial but my schedule is too crazy for a persistent world. I need a Single player mode or LAN server. No S+ for Atlas. Orionsun did actually design the building system in Atlas, but he has stopped modding.
  6. There is a custom map tool. So all the biomes could be in smaller maps.
  7. Quoting myself. But since I couldn't get my LAN server working I have refunded the game. No point keeping a game I cannot play. Both single player mode and LAN option are needed before I would buy this game again. Both are available in Ark.
  8. Single player mode And LAN connectivity for servers Both greatly needed.
  9. I gave up on trying to run a LAN server. I tried lots of suggestions.
  10. The github page says this: gridSize is the size in unreal units of each grid. We do not recommend going over 1400000 due to floating point precision issues. No clue what that really means though.
  11. Single player mode like Ark needs to be added. For single player, the grid could easily transition to the next as the player travels.
  12. I am using the files and directions provided by cpjet64. My LAN IP. Tried it as the seamless ip and switched it for MultiHome (what I use for Ark). Never had problems with Ark within my LAN. Atlas, I never see the server listed in either steam favorites or in-game. Port forwarding my router has no effect, because of the mobile 4g hotspot.
  13. This would be so awesome for single player mode.
  14. I don't remember exactly what he said in the video.
  15. From watching cpjet64 video, I think 1 grid is about 2x the size of the Ragnarok map. And you don't want to increase the grid size past that value.
  16. I am just trying to get confirmation before I give up. I don't think it's possible. Is it possible to run a Atlas server only on LAN with no port forwarding (like Ark)? My isp is mobile broadband and port forwarding dosen't work.
  17. I have tried lots of things to get a dedicated server to work just to play single player. But since my internet is from a mobile hotspot apparently port forwarding does work with mobile isp. Ark is easy to run through just LAN, this dosen't seem to be possible with Atlas. Guess I will refund. No point in owning a game I cannot play. Add Single Player mode and LAN server access (both are available in Ark).
  18. Thanks to everyone who helped me. With my mobile/broadband hotspot internet, port fowarding isn't possible. So it not possible for me to host a private LAN server, like I can for Ark. Unless the devs add in a single player mode or LAN methods, I cannot play. I have no interest in renting a server. Thanks again.
  19. Having single player mode at EA launch would have at least allowed more players to play the game. Even just to test things out.
  20. Ark has single player mode. Same devs.
  21. The whole world cannot be pirates. Freeports are already on the map.
