I am having similar connection issues. But I was able to log on the 26th of Dec. and the 31st but no other days than that. I can log in from other locations without an issue. I haven't made any changes on my end. Times that to was able to work 0000-0800 the 26th and 30th. I hope this info helps isolate the issue. Prior to the 1st I would get the timed out error message but after the 1st I just stays on the Atlas splash loading screen. There is no time out or error message. This screen has lasted of 30+ minutes before I force shut down the application.
