  1. Too many maps I have quested only to find player built structures preventing access to all the SOD's to complete the map. Not a fault of the players. the games treasure spawning mechanism does not interact with player actions move/restrict/relocate the spawn so that it is not "blocked".
  2. Placed one this am. Takes wood/thatch to power it. Does NOT pull thatch/wood from the farmhouse. Does not pull fast enough to keep the farmhouses going. You still need to visit them to clean them out. Says it is connected to 9 farmhouses, however, I only own 3. With its large placement range very few players will actually be able to place one. For most players, you will never get to use one. Not really "automated" since it does not pull "fuel" and must be manually fed. If your farmhouses are close enough to your base, stick with that, a resource box and a smithy and forget about the warehouse. Waste of time and materials.
  3. To clarify my complaint, I have no problem with the 9-10 day timer. It is the 30 day timer for the stuff that is found in EVERY base. That is the problem. Everything should be on the same schedule. If your base decays in 9-10 days but the stuff in it doesn't decay for 30 days, it would seem to defeat the purpose of having a shorter time decay period. I don't really see the point of having two different times. You are still forced to wait the 30 days for the space to become usable.
  4. Found the answer finally. In settings, uncheck the box that says "show tutorial hint text."
  5. When standing at the wheel of the ship, the top left of the screen is packed with lines of information describing how to use different features. This also happens to overlap the mini map making it hard to read. I have looked through the settings and have only found how to make the UI interface larger or smaller. How do I get rid of that useless text altogether?
  6. A player put down a foundation and a smithy within 50 feet of my base. Now I am unable to make any modifications to my own base on that side due to "too close to enemy foundation". Why am I being restricted from making changes within my own walls? The person putting down the foundation should have gotten this message and moved further away. Now they have rage quit and the smithy will be there for 30 days and I cannot make any changes to my own base that was there long before the other player arrived. This mechanic is just too stupid for words to describe.
  7. Had a neighbor on the island decide to "rage quit" and left all his stuff behind. It seems that all the walls, foundations, etc are on a 9 day decay timer but things like storage boxes, smithy's, etc are on something much longer, like 30 days. So the building will decay but all this other stuff hangs around for 30 days? This makes any island space that is abandoned effectively unusable for 30 days. The 9 day timer is pretty useless. On what planet does this make sense? Everything should have a 9 day timer. Who thought this would be a good idea?
  8. I changed the name of my company but not liking what I picked. Would like to change it to something else but the button is "greyed out". Is there a "cooldown" period for this type of change or am I stuck with it? If there is a cooldown period, does anyone know what it is. thx.
  9. Trader in freeport sells all the wood types however, it takes 50 gold and 50 of any type of wood to transform it into another type. For example 20k darkwood costs 20k gold and 20k of another type of wood. If this also applies to Ironwood, as a solo player, that eliminates any desire on my part to build anything mythical or legendary. Masterwork Bp's are now the ceiling. This idea is probably one of the worst I have seen. Not sure what they are trying to accomplish except for vastly reducing the number of mythical/legendary ships in the game.
  10. I have level 50+ wild level horses for sale in B7. Superior to bears for pulling a cart over rough terrain and carries more weight than the average bear. Contact me in discord https://discord.gg/PJ4GUXf
  11. "We're spending too much time on land." "We're not doing enough exploring. " Starts to leave port...gets hit by cyclones. Drop sails, sit and wait for the nonsense to stop. Storm over....but wait. Fog so thick no point in leaving yet. Ok fog lifts. Another player enters the region and guess what....another cyclone attack followed by more fog. I am overwhelmed by the encouragement to leave port and go anywhere. This is not an isolated sequence and happens quite frequently. So I guess I am encouraged to keep on base building and taming.
  12. I have several crows available. NA PVE. N8. Hit me up on discord if interested. https://discord.gg/ksjb69p
  13. There are only 3 stations NPC's can man on a ship. Sails, weapons, and the steering wheel. The current system requires you either to "whistle" the NPC to a station or use the "wheel" to assign. The first method (whistle) often ends with unintended consequences and tames running everywhere. The second, (wheel) requires you to stand close to the item to assign the NPC. When cannons and sails are in close proximity this can be a real PIA. Here is a QOL suggestion. When moving NPC's onto ships, they should automatically be programmed to be assigned to 1. Sails first. 2. Weapons and the steering wheel should be the last option. Spend too much time having to choose "steering wheel" just to get the NPC closer to the weapon I want them to man. The current system is rather tedious and unnecessarily time consuming.
  14. Just took ownership of a large island in N8 NA PVE with only 3 settlers. The previous owner's company had built structures all over the island making very little room for settlers. All of that has now been demolished. I take pride in the ownership of the island and work hard to keep out the spam. There is lots of room for new settlers that are kind and considerate to others. Look for Gilligan's Isle if interested in having a place to build.
  15. Was a settler on an island for the past 4 months. Was recently approached by the island owner to see if I wanted to take over ownership. We completed the deal and I have assumed the duties of ownership. The question is about the claim flag itself. Since it was placed by previous owner, it just happens to be located at the opposite end of the island from my base. I have spent several days tearing down all the structures from the old owner to clean up the island and make room for settlers. The flag is located in a spot that a settler could use. Is there a way to relocate the flag closer to my own base?
  16. I am trying to get my brain around the rationale for the increased resistance. Since they changed that item specifically what problem did they see that required the buff? What are they trying to accomplish with the change? On green and regular maps the end result has only been to increase the amount of time it takes to kill the AoD. Where it used to take one use of Nature's Cry, now it takes a second use to complete. What did this accomplish? The only thing that sticks out is they don't want solo players doing higher level maps since this change only really affects that. That approach doesn't make any sense either. Just makes gold acquisition more of a grind. As a solo player I have tried bringing extra animals to the fight but it has not gone well. My last attempt, I brought 3 high level HP tigers with me to tackle a blue map. I lost one of the tigers and if not for another player showing up at a crucial moment to help in the fight, I would have lost more. The tigers just seemed to be confused and standing around and not really taking the fight to the AoD like I thought they would. I had them whistled to "follow me" and not the bear I was riding. What is the proper following instructions to use in this scenario to make extra animals the most effective?
  17. After a bit more discussion in game with some of the breeders, I think that is the issue. Since I am solo player, I don't have the points or time to breed my own animals. Fortunately I ran across a bear breeder that let me be present at birth to "claim and imprint" my own bear. That has made a world of difference.
  18. Okay Fan Boi. Just because you have never had an issue is irrelevant. There are many aspects of this game that are not written down unless someone tells you about it, there is no other way to find out. For instance, the next post talks about a whistle command to put NPC's on different items. With all your supposed intellect, please point to the complete list of whistle commands. The one in the options menu of the game is not a complete list. See screenshot. I avoid using whistles just because of the nightmare that can be created with the creatures running amok. So thanks for playing and go be a fan boi in another thread. The complaint about functionality is still valid. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2003553280 Regarding the Resource Silo, please explain the rationale for only accepting berries. The food larder on the ship for the NPC's holds everything. The resource silo was promoted (as I understand it) to "feed and pay" NPC's on your base and anchored ships. How is it a valid replacement if it does not hold the same items and restricts to only berries?
  19. - Extra damage dealt by AoD treasure guardians reverted (but they kept some of the resistance that was added in the last patch) This is code for "we are treating AoD guardians as if they alpha creatures". Which translates into cutting the damage you do to them in half. Just did a level 9 map. (green) On normal creatures my bear hits for 60 hp. On the AoD that has been nerfed down to about 25. Which top tier "nature's cry" the bear can do 56 hp. The AoD were doing around 40 hp to my bear. Not much of a big deal on low level maps but this discrepancy gets worse the higher the level map. It is too bad the communication skills of this dev team are sorely lacking and they can't be honest and upfront about some of the changes they make. I will adapt and overcome but from a business point of view, treating your customers like shit and keeping them in the dark is a really pathetic way to conduct business.
  20. Here is a perfect example of some of the useless maps in this game. Far too many of these. level 4.3 map. only worth 243 gold. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198129132554/screenshots/ On top of a ledge you would have to build a very tall ramp to reach or fly there. Either way it is not worth anyone's time. Throw on the ground. Move on. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198129132554/screenshots/
  21. Why is there a resource silo that is supposed to feed and pay NPC's but you can only put berries in it? NPC's eat more than berries. I live on a island with very few berries. This was not well thought out. Why is the NPC assignment feature on ships look like it was designed by a first grader? To assign an NPC to any item you must be standing close to that item. God forbid you put a cannon near a ballista or a sail. It is a fricken nightmare to move them from one to the other. I spent 10 minutes trying to get NPC to man the bow sail. I also have two cannons at the bow, left and right. I could not get the NPC to use the sail. The only option I was given (no matter where I stood) was for it to man a cannon. I deleted the cannon to solve that problem but the bigger question is why is NPC assignments so retarded?
  22. I purchased a "treasure bear" from a player, bred at lvl 62. I have spent a lot of time leveling the bear so it is now level 92 doing 221 melee. Before this last patch I was clearing level 19 blue maps solo (level 70 AOD). Bear was hitting for 56 pts. Of course they screwed up the game with the patch that extremely buffed the AOD. I waited to do any maps until the "fix" patch came out. Taking advantage of the 3x gold weekend I set out to do all my blue maps. I had a level 22 map and suspected I would have trouble so I put it out to the sector for help. Two guys with bears came and helped me defeat the level 90 AOD's. Of course I shared half of the gold with them. Anyway, they asked me if I needed a new bear because I didn't seem to be hitting with much damage. Only about 25 or 26 hp, about 1/2 of what it was before the first patch. I asked them what melee their bears were and they replied 185. They were hitting for twice the damage I was. How is this possible? Is there something about breeding and levels I am not aware of that affect the end damage dealt? How does a bear with 185 melee do more damage than a bear with 221 melee? Why is my bear doing half the damage it was before all the latest patching frenzy? After this level 22 map, I moved to another sector and did a level 14 map. Almost killed my bear. Whatever they have done in the patching, it is not like it was before and they provide no detail on the changes. Can anyone who breeds bears shed any light on the correlation between the levels and damage done? Thanks.
  23. update dropped that supposedly fixes the AOTD damage. See the patch notes. Only two items on the list.
  24. As a solo player, while I like the changes to the loot tables, the changes to player level, the aotd damage increase and hit to character level has taken the wind from my sails. Now I have to find so many more discoveries jut to get back to the level I was and treasure hunting has been pretty much nuked for single player. There really is no more reason to play. Base already built, have 2 of every type of ship. Without a reason to leave my base, the game is pretty much worthless.
