  1. Twice today... TWICE... I've tried to land on an island and take a claim.  TWICE I've spent well over 30 minutes staring at a respawn screen only to be killed instantly by crocs any time I even DARED to respawn.

I have waited over 5 minutes for them to disperse only to be insta-killed.

How dare me want to actually play the game.  The AUDACITY that I have come to expect games to be playable even in early access. Every game should be 5 seconds of game, 1 minute of staring at a respawn screen.

Tell me. How the hell is this supposed to be fun?

Your respawn screen looks real nice.  Staring at it for 30 minutes until the crocs crush the bed on my raft is NOT FUN!

I relish a challenge.  Dying the instant you respawn is not a challenge, it's bullshit.

Keep deleting this mods. Complaints about the state of the game is just unacceptable.

  2. The whole problem with this game is the utter arrogance of Wildcard.

They assumed their shit didn't stink.  They assumed that when they coded something in and it sounded good, that it was good.  There are SOOOO many problems with this game that could have been EASILY avoided with simple play testing.

Getting the code right for all the flavors of computer hardware out there, that's a real challenge and I expect that.

Having crocs camp the bed on my raft for 30 minutes making it impossible to respawn. THAT should never have happened.

Sounds like you should just make your own game.... What ya doin here

Wasting my breath and throwing money and time out the window apparently.

Was hoping for some entertaining escapism.  That's not happening.

Though I agree there are alot of issues but I find it funny that you think so of these issues can be "fixed" within the what 2 weeks it's been up. Something like the claim system will take a long time to get right

    DELETE from SOD_List WHERE time_alive_minutes > 60

    UPDATE Croc_List SET spawn_rate = 0.01

    UPDATE Croc_List SET aggro_range = 10

    UPDATE Player_Base SET Max_claim_flags = 1

There, I fixed 4 problems in 2 minutes.

  4. Here's why they won't do that.  The utter flood of people trying to log back in and get a claim will once again 'crush' their servers.

That and you have entirely too many expectations. Do you think the dev's read this?  The playerbase has asked them for days now to fix aggros, fix SoD's, fix claims.  Have they listened? Barely.

My suggestion, instead preaching to the choir, go give them yet another negative review on Steam. Even if we can't get our money back, even if we can't get them to listen to us, we CAN have an effect on their bottom line with negative reviews.

The math is simple.  Either they listen to what the players want or they can start looking for a new job.  And trust me, if this MMO goes bust for ignoring the players, having 'Atlas' on your resume will not be desirable.

  6. I've posted 3 now and some jackass moderator keeps deleting them.  If I take the time to take screenshots and make a detailed description of the bug, have the common fucking courtesy to at least tell me WHY you keep deleting them.

Now, you can delete this post too ass hole.

Claims should be limited, but probably more than one per player, maybe up to three because I can see a need to be able to claim more than one area. Other players should absolutely not be able to steal your claim unless your claim decays after at least 7 days. Players should possibly have to pay taxes to maintain their claims, they have this system in Medieval Engineers where you make a claim and then pay resources as taxes for more time on that claim. Players should be able to build and have beds without a claim but be vulnerable to theft and have an extremely small no build radius. You could have a really hard picklock mechanic that players would use to break into someone's house and boxes that aren't on 'claimed' land. Finally, if someone does claim the land you have built on, they shouldn't have the ability to take your stuff, there should be taxes and a certain amount of time you have to pay them. Just please don't kill PVE by allowing this current stealing claims nonsense to continue.

PVE = Player vs ENVIRONMENT.  You are describing elements where a player steals from another player which is Player vs PLAYER.

But, claim theft is BS.  1 person = 1 claim.

That claim should decay at a set rate.  Whether it's refreshed by logging in or some form of taxation, I don't care.  Taking my claim?  Then why would I want to build a house, fort, shipyard, anything if it can be gone in a matter of minutes.

That being said, I did try earlier to test this on some claims where the owner has never showed up.  The claim stopped at 9:59 and I was unable to take their claim.  I was however able to drop multiple claims, much like the one guy who owns 90% of my island.

  8. For those who read this like I did and freaked out, I decided to test this myself.

Yes, you can drop multiple claims.
Yes, you can own an entire island if you got there first.
No, you cannot grab a claim on a PVE server like described in 10 minutes, if at all.

I tested on my mostly deserted island on the PVE-NA servers and dropping a flag does say that it's contesting ownership.  However, the timer stops at 9:59 and neither flag moves.  I tested this on multiple claims.

So while I do agree the system is completely hosed, at least someone can't just move in on a PVE server and take everything you own.

It DOES however mean that if they got there first that they can place claims on all the major resources and depending on their 'dick' level, they can set up tax houses to make it almost pointless to try to get resources.  Which is the case for about 90% of my island.

  9. I found ONE metal on my island.  I resorted to running around whacking rocks for metal... until 8 hours later I realized that even those rocks didn't respawn. Meaning... I'll be out of metal very soon... The entire ISLAND will be out of metal.  Seems rather impossible to progress in the game without it.

  10. This entire day I've spent farming to build a sloop.

No, that's incorrect.  I spent HALF the day farming to build a sloop.  I spent the other half of the day watching crocs wipe every living thing off my island, including me DOZENS of times.  I watched them crawl on my raft and dare me to come close.  I watched them rip my house to shreds trying to get to me. I I watched them slam into my shipyard trying to chase a stoopid parrot.   And I'm not talking one or two occasionally.  I'm  talking every 10 minutes 3-7 crocs were in my claim forcing me to drop everything I was attempting to do to deal with them.  I got to the point that I'd stop work, strip myself naked and just run around punching crocs to death so that I could actually play the damned game.  If I didn't, it became impossible to farm for resources because by the time I returned there'd be a mob of them standing outside my door.

But... to have them destroy my sloop before I even had a chance to learn how to sail it???  This croc somehow managed to jump on my ship, something I couldn't even do... smash my bed, kill me and then rip the side off the hull.   A LEVEL 4 CROC MIND YOU!

There's a fine line between challenge and BULLSHIT!  I don't mind a challenge.  That... however... is complete and utter BULLSHIT!

There should NOT be 50 crocs on ONE STINKING ISLAND!
