I think the best bet is to get away from lawless and freeport and trying building there.

Then you get higher by finding the stones for your compass.

And another can argue in a pve, it promotes trading, or selling of wares. It also applies to PVP as well, but the current state it is in...zerg is all they know.

In some tradition games yes, in ark and in atlas, blueprints are not consumable. It promotes sharing and trading from my point of view, I am just use to it from my time in ark.

Also blueprints help you from have to put points in certain trees, essentially letting you bypass certain skill reqs.

Seeing as you can ram other ships it probably rammed him, and his ship and continued to damage to his raft while he was beached.

Also to be fair, there is some group out there that would of mapped out the areas anyways. Be it sooner or later the outcome would of been the same.

That's unfortunate that happen to you, but keep in mind that new players from now to the end of this games life will always be at a disadvantage. With most games with a system like this, that is the case...be it through experience (level/knowledge) or materials. The most you can do either accept this and move on and go at it from a different approach, or simply not play it. Yea learnt the hard way, to take the extra time to sail further past the first set of islands out of freeport. My first non starter island experience was a 3 man KoS, so I am back at freeport to restart.

Then you can be that ol' pirate talking to your fresh meat scallywags saying, "Back in my day..."

I know you may not be in the freeport while asking this question, but i got alot of sap from E harvesting some trees. Might be a relation there somewhere.

i agree somewhat with you there. With some patience and a bed once could travel a further bit out and get some land. Most of the claimed land I'm seeing is the intermittent areas around freeports and lawless ports.

Maybe it is due to the fact that docks take up some much water space, that when you plant a flag that covers water it gives you more lee way?
