  1. Then how do they get to freeports to hire crew and use the vendor?
  2. The knockback they do makes fighting thrm with swords unwinnable, assuming they don't clip through you and leave you stuck inside their model unable to attack. Their attack soeed is faster than yours, so you get knocked back as you're swinging and they're momentarily out of range as your swing completes. The massive lag lately from all the building isn't helping.
  3. Is he set to aggressive? If so and he's on a large cannon, he's probably shooting at hostile wildlife. Large cannon can't traverse side to side, though, so he can only attack things directly in front of him, explaining the randomness.
  4. If you look at the materials requirements, you'll see "X x Y," means you need Y number of X *different* resources. So if it's 3 x 15 wood, you need 15 of three different types of wood, IE regular wood, softwood, elder wood, etc.
  5. Raft degrades rapidly in open water and faster in freeports. Anchored near shore in a non-freeport zone they last several days without needing repair.
  6. Am I missing something with this? I can't seem to place them anywhere, always get the "cannot be placed on floor" message, or occasionally "obstructed." I'm imagining they need to be built into the side of a fairly vertical mountain face, but since all the mountains have a ribbed, stack-of-pancakes structure, I'm wondering if that is the issue. So far I've found 2 places they can be built on my entire island, and both are barely off the ground. What's the trick?
  7. Same thing happens frequently with wolves and lions.
  8. Posted in bug reports, but wanted to give people here a heads-up, too. If you craft an improved version of a structure from a blueprint, place it, and then pick it up during the grace period, you get back the standard version instead of the improved version. Be very careful with your high-quality structures! You only get one shot!
  9. Just as the title says, picking up an improved structure crafted from a blueprint during the 30-second grace period returns the standard version of that structure instead of the improved version.
  10. Thought this too at first, at least for the common ones, but then I noticed even the common BPs are better than the standard, unlike ARK. That's why you need the skills. The blueprint is showing you how to make a better version of the thing you already know how to make.
  11. Had a schooner moored all day outside our base at anchor, no degeneration damage. You just need to get out if the Freeport and make sure your ship is anchored.
  12. I thought it was map uncover range, but I haven't found the gems to craft one to confirm.
  13. Removing Freeport decay or de-spawning ships in Freeports will just make everyone log all their big ships there for zero risk. Putting these behind a payment cost will give even more advantage to large companies. There are plenty of alliances on islands willing to let wanderers settle if you ask. It's to their advantage to have allies nearby if they themselves aren't big enough to hold an entire island because it means they don't have to worry as much about hostiles moving in if you've got that section locked down.
