  1. We've had birds sink ships before....but lasts longer than 2.5 seconds.  That short of a sink time sounds like a bug to me.  Was this right after a zone change?  Also the invisible rock theory is probably the best bet.  I would record the location this happened at and send a ticket in with loc info.  Devs can look at that area and possible fix it.  Maybe also get lucky and get your gold back for the ship.

As if transparency helped Star Citizen.  It's taken so long that I think most people have forgotten about it lol

The actual work being done in Star Citizen is light years ahead of Atlas in terms of technology.  I am kinda hoping that CIG can perfect some of its server technologies and license it out to other companies.   Imagine Atlas with no server walls and smoother transitions into overbuilt areas.   Not saying it will be used here, but other companies serious about developing games can potentially use it for cool stuff down the road.

Haven't seen that, but we have a cargo ship stuck in the void since patch release.  It shows up on the map, not physically there when we take a boat out to it, and every time you port to one of its beds it just gives green screen.

We had that happen season 2.  Reported it to Jat multiple times.  He joined our company once, looked at it and said it would be looked at by a dev.  Never fixed.  Was that way all season.   Was not a big deal, in terms of the loss, but still annoying to see on the map the entire season.

  4. I run dual and have 16gb of ram and a 1080ti which has 11gb of VRAM.  I rarely crash crossing grids.  Rare time it does happen I am using the map or opening an inventory or something.

They've had issues in the past with the onscreen map when using the sextant buff.  Haven't used that since season 1 as it caused a lot of performance issues and crashed.

  5. Its a combo of render range and sometimes they spawn a bit close for comfort.  I was hoping with optimization the render range could be increased while at sea so we can see ships further out.

  6. Agreed structure wipe is much more appropriate in this case AFAIK.  They can easily recover the most valuable assets like high end BP's and tames after countdowns time out.

Another group of cheaters got the same treatment last night.  5 old thieves or whatever the name.....they were using a blunderbus exploit.  all they had to do is create a new company and were back at it that night.   I hope down the road that people using third party exploits should get the ban hammer.  If they want to buy the game again and start leveling up so be it.

  7. I think they shot themselves in the foot a bit with the new map.  While I like it as a veteran thats been around since week 1 I can see its not ideal for new people.  I just wish they could find a way to increase FP space and what new players can do in the confines of this space before venturing out into the unknown.  I think that is why Eve can works so well.  People have that security blanket when needed, but no cap ships allowed.

  8. It used to be one active that rotated, but that ended up being an absolute cluster as George described above.  I believe they changed that season 1 so all are active.  Season 2 and 3 were much simpler and there was less congestion at the cave entrances.  I guess we find out today if that is still the case otherwise it will be a shit show at the FoY.

  9. Games like this always suffer from synch issues.  Forcing the server to re-sync helps fix a lot of these wierd bugs.  Trick is figuring out whats out of synch and what you need to do to force it to re-synch.

  10. Anchor your ship away from other ships.  Make sure ladder is up.  ALWAYS make sure your ladder is up.  Sit at wheel while friend goes to pick up whatever it is you are there for.

At this point the only way someone can overweight the ship is to walk off another ship on yours.  If they do just look at the wheel options and kick them off.  If they plan on overcrewing the fix is the same.  Kick them off from wheel options.   After 15 minutes your anchor turns green and you are protected.  Before you raise the anchor always try kicking off unwanted pests via the options wheel.  if someone(s) is there you'll be able to remove them easily from the ship.   And again.....ALWAYS raise your ladder.  That should be done every time you get on the wheel.

Yes they need to find a way to fix these issues, but you do have a way to prevent it as well.

  11. Have not heard of this.

As a complete guess I would delete the steering wheel and add a new one.  Should force a synch between the wheel and the ship on the server.  Might get lucky and that corrects it.  I've had other weird issues fixed this way.

  12. Yeah we need a reason to run the Kraken on a regular basis otherwise it will just fade away as the server ages.  Sure you'll have new characters or people who pushed it off doing it, but the frequency will drop dramatically.  Besides.......they want more ship combat.  Having companies fighting over running it is a good way to promote that.

  13. If I click "Live Game Support/Submit a Ticket" the only options I get are for the Code of Conduct.  If I click "Server Outage/Issue Report" then I can create a ticket.

This is on my work laptop.  Windows 10Ent and Firefox.  I doubt that changes based on OS or browser.  I think its an issue with the web host.
