So the shop keepers have cosmetics for sale with gold currency but how can we get it

My active game build is 2.0 however the build on servers are specified as 2.1 and I cant join, there is no update waiting for me since the small one that came out when servers went up. How do I get to 2.1 or what exactly is going on?
