  1. I wouldn’t abandon hope yet. It wouldn’t be the first time that the patch notes failed to include something. Or they may have encountered an issue with it and need to hold it back during the iterative testing. @Jatheish? @Dollie ? Whats the story on the seahorse?
  2. Are you just not seeing any ingame or not seeing it in the patch notes?
  3. *sighs* She doesn't die, she sings. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It_ain't_over_till_the_fat_lady_sings
  4. well if you're having fun and feel like you got your money's worth, then really at the end of the day that's what matters the most.
  5. which server are you trying to connect to?
  6. Well there you have it. Winter Thorne, no great fan of this dev team or it’s ways, says this was likely the right move. Thanks for your insight as always.
  7. He said in the explanation something about being unable to get the necessary player pop levels for that to be useful iirc. If I were you I’d look it up rather than depend on the old sharp as jello Boomer memory.
  8. Yeah I don’t know for sure but non dedicated always has a tether range and I’d be fairly confident a seperate grid would be too far. My answer represents an educated guess however, nothing more.
  9. I will miss you my friend. Your cheerful disposition and enthusiasm for new adventures has always been a welcome presence here. May the winds be ever in your favor, make port whenever you may need it. May the rain wash away your tears and the sunsets sustain your dreams. We will await your sails on the horizon and feast at your return. From this day until then fair winds, clear skies
  10. When did you try the pvp servers? I have stuck almost exclusively to pve in this game as well, but the tendency is for that sort of behavior to be at it's zenith shortly after a game's launch or a major content update when overall activity is high. Later on when things settle down, or in Atlas's case die down, often things get a bit less insane. My theory is that this kind of asshattery tends to go hand in hand with short attention span, so these types go to a new game, act out til they get banned or their extreme behavior makes them social pariahs, then move on to something else.
  11. check Jat's posting history. He made a post yesterday essentially saying that using NA PVP as a guinea pig for the Xbox build over the next 10 days would give them a head start on finding an bugs or other issues with that build and help ensure a smoother overall launch. I'm not entirely sure I buy the notion that was the best course of action, but that is the explanation being given.
  12. I’m thinking about it too, having recently invested in a sofa with power and USB ports built in.
  13. I know. Kind of amusing. I figured you in particular would get a kick out of that. He’s just used to tribalistic dichotomy. It’s sadly how most things are these days.
  14. Taking time off from work for a video game launch is imo always inadvisable. Taking time off from work given GrapeCard and Wildcard’s track record is especially so.
  15. I’m expecting a nice wardrobe buff, nothing more. If it gave a decent bit of insulation, I wouldn’t complain.
  16. Thanks Thorne, those are great shots and everything looks awesome! Noted about triangular foundations. How did you know I’m a huge Pink Floyd fan?
  17. Hello and welcome to the forums. To answer one of your questions, all official gameworlds will be crossplay. Each Atlas gameworld is a grid of over 200 interconnected servers. Currently only 4 exist, one each for NA and EU regions with pve or pvp game modes. Given the size and cost of maintaining each game world it’s currently unlikely GrapeCard would launch additional game worlds and they have started those 4 will be crossplay. Its pricy, but an ergonomic option for M&K on the sofa does exist. https://www.newegg.com/p/1BK-00UA-00001?Description=Couch gaming&cm_re=Couch_gaming-_-1BK-00UA-00001-_-Product Judt thought I would throw that in since you mentioned the impracticality of M&K on sofa otherwise, with which I would agree.
  18. Okay, but my point is no matter how small your team is, at some point I would say especially if people are paying for your game, you need to move it’s development forward in a way that makes measurable progress towards a finished product. If you’re 6 years in and still on alpha, as a player I’m gonna wonder if you have any real plan for what you want the game to become.
  19. I don’t know that I’ve ever been more curious about another player’s game experience than I am about his intro to Atlas. Will he be able to stick with his discovery point quest or will he find it too tedious at some point or become lured into other pursuits for the sake of variety? Will he actually make efficient progress or find it overwhelming? Will he like Atlas’s building system compared to Ark’s? Same for taming. How will his actual experience stack up against his expectations?
  20. Your wording is either incorrect or unclear, depending on what you meant to say. All officials are being wiped tonite. Only NA PVP will be reset immediately, the others will be unavailable until crossplay launch on the 8th.
  21. No. You're confused because you have bought into a way of seeing things that does not account for me. I don't believe in the fence. The fence is an illusion, an arbitrary distinction that our tribal instincts push us to construct. The flaw with the concept of the fence is that it locks us into a side regardless of objective facts, reason, compelling evidence, or truth. Picking a side of the fence means I'm for the devs when they make poor decisions and against them when the people criticizing them are being foolish, childish or self indulgent. Instead I'm for the side that hopes for a game worth playing, but does not shirk from offering feedback that is critical of design decisions that I think are poor. I think GrapeCard™ both deserves praise for resisting some of the short sighted anti consumer practices like lootboxes that so called AAA studios are exploiting to the hilt so badly that governments are starting to feel compelled to step in and intervene with legislation and regulation, and also criticism for pushing Atlas into Early Access when it was barely a playable product and should have been considerably further along the development cycle before asking anyone to pay for it. The world is not black and white and although I understand the urge to simplify by seeing it in these more simplistic terms, reality is most often shades of grey. No one is right all the time or wrong all the time. Development teams are made up of fallible human beings, so are playerbase. Picking a side would mean foregoing criticism that is valid of either party if it’s not the one I picked, or praise when it is called for. I call it like I see it, and the side I'm on is the side of reason, of attacking arguments instead of people. Debate is healthy. Disagreement is natural. Mudslinging because someone disagrees with you is childish. If you doubt me ask the people who have been here all along. They know me.
