  1. I honestly thought the push to get it to Xbox would result in only a few hours delay. It is really hard not to talk about how bad this looks while also being completely par for the course. At this point, I don’t understand why this company continues to embarrass themselves by operating this way.
  2. Yes. This is expected behavior. The main feature of breeding is mutations. Mutations come in 2 forms: boosted stats and different colors. What you are experiencing is expected and normal. Congrats.
  3. I am firmly of the opinion that children are a wonderful thing for other people to have.
  4. If you are asking my permission, you have vastly overestimated my authority. As far as I’m concerned you’re always welcome.
  5. Why would you think it might be true that they would disincentivize putting maps on bookshelves?
  6. Well that knocks you and me both out. Plus all the folks who said on time.
  7. Never played Sea of Thieves so I will have to take your word for it, but I have played quite a few MMO's, and Atlas is pretty paltry in the content dept in comparison to games I have played.
  8. It is priced at a discount, but based on its current state, I’d agree it’s still overpriced. If the amount of content were closer to what one could reasonably expect, it might be worth 30. Your approach sounds like a prudent one for you.
  9. I had you down for 30 to 40 min slot based on a previous post. If you want me to change your slot, pick which ONE HOUR slot you prefer.
  10. The definition of successful launch in the pool rules you didn’t get to is 2 of the 3 servers up and running for one hour.
  11. So you are saying on time, but actually taking the 30 to 40 minute slot.
  12. As previously mentioned the game is Early Access.Bug free is not a reasonable expectation. Also, did you own the ladder you were stuck on? Because if you did, you could have simply demo’d the ladder. Problem solved. Speaking only for myself, I support the game because of its potential. There are many legitimate complaints about Grapecard’s development of Atlas to date. “I experienced a bug in an Early Access game and it was still there a few months later and I deserve a refund because I couldn’t figure out one of several obvious work around and now I’m complaining about it on the forums instead of asking for help at the time.” isn’t one of them.
  13. *frowns at Jerryn for actually switching back to the generic avatar.*
  14. Please keep posts to the pool thread on topic. This question could have been asked and answered elsewhere.
  15. This thread is a pool for predicting when the Xbox version will actually go live. Please read pool participation rules carefully because if your post does not adhere to them, you will not be eligible for the one bajillion doubloon* grand prize awarded to the winner. 1. As many people as would like can bet on an on time launch for all servers, but if the launch is on time (10 min grace period), all winners must split the prize evenly. Bragging rights can be split in any fashion the winners choose. If the launch is not on time, all those predicting it would be are subject to We Told You So. Slots are as follows: 10-20mins late Houser 20-30 30-40 D legacy 40-50 50-60 1pm EST to 2pm 2pm to 3pm 3pm to 4pm Boomer 4pm to 5pm 5pm to 6pm 6pm to 7pm 7pm to 8pm 8pm to 9pm 9pm to 10 pm 10pm to 11pm 12pm to 1am 1am to 9am Realist 9am to 10 am 10am to 11am 11am to noon After noon on the 9th After noon on the 10th 11th Needsmokes 12th 13th So late they miss the weekend 2. For purposes of determining successful launch, 2 of the 3 official game worlds that are currently down must be up for a minimum of 1 hour. 3. All slots can be picked by one poster on a first come, first post basis. The only exception is on time predictions, which are unlimited. Posts which indicate the poster did not read and follow pool rules will be disqualified and reading comprehension mocked mercilessly. I will start the pool by claiming the 3 to 4 hour late time slot. *Grand prize subject to Boomer’s guarantee
  16. You are now officially talking to yourself in a gaming forum. Do they have a post office in your world? Local government? Or is everything just run by the pink elephants? You are acting like people wanting a game clearly advertised as being pirate centric to focus more on boats than animals is some off kilter idea, meanwhile quoting yourself in new posts. This is not behavior that comes across as rational.
  17. *passes Realist the Aloe.* Here you’re gonna need this.
  18. Quoted for truth. As for my age, I was there when Jesus Christ had his moment of doubt and pain, made damn sure that Pilate washed his hands and sealed his fate. I rode a tank, held a general’s rank, when the blitzkrieg raged and the bodies stank. Pleased to meet you, hope you guessed my name.
  19. A) You asked a question on an open forum. I answered the question straightforwardly. I do not see anything in my answer that merited the hostility in your reply. Before you tell others they need to get help, perhaps you should ask yourself why you felt it necessary to react with such hostility to someone giving a perfectly reasonable answer to your question. Because both your response and the tone of it were certainly not reasonable. B) You like tames and you like Ark. That’s great, I liked Ark as well, so much so that I have 4K hours in it and ran a multi server cluster community of several hundred players for over a year. Atlas was not advertised as Ark, an Ark sequel, or tame oriented. It was promoted as a pirate fantasy themed game. Many players came here expecting just that and excited to play such a game. What they found instead was a game that was barely playable and a development team that in developing said barebones game did not seem to be taking it in the direction of pirate fantasy but instead seemed to be making it a version of Ark that happened to also include a lot of water and a few ships. This idea may appeal to you personally, but it is not what the game was promoted as and it is not what the majority of players expected. Their expectations were not unreasonable, but for you to tell people who didn’t get the advertised game to go play Sea of Thieves is a hostile and unreasonable response to a perfectly reasonable expectation. C) If you don’t see a future for this game let me assure you that it is not because it lacks enough tames. I have been active on these forums since day one. For every post with positive comments about tames I can think of 20 saying essentially “ we didn’t buy Atlas for tames. We bought it for pirates and there doesn’t seem to be much pirate stuff.” The game has fared exceedingly poorly thus far and based on the overwhelming majority of comments here and ingame, it isn’t for lack of tames but for lack of pirate content, specifically lack of emphasis on ship oriented activities. Saying “who doesn’t like riding a dragon to attack your enemies?” misses the point. I could just as easily say “ who doesn’t like riding a T. rex into battle?” But if I’m doing it on the forums for Grand Theft Auto or Ghost Recon, both games with themes of gritty realism, I’m not being reasonable or realistic. D) The notion that tames will keep Atlas alive is very much a dubious one. Saying you don’t care what the community thinks is illogical. The community is who has to like the game to keep it alive. If the community ie the players don’t like the game, it dies. So far they have voiced their displeasure quite clearly, your personal views notwithstanding, and they have left in droves. You may want another Ark, but if the devs listen to you rather than the overwhelming majority who have said they do not, then you will not have a game to play for very long unless you’re going to personally finance the game’s development. E) Instead of blasting people who don’t share your personal preferences, you would be better served to do some research here and ingame, be fair minded and realistic and you will come to understand that fighting FOR tames in Atlas is actually fighting for the game to die. It is fighting for the game to be something other than what it has been marketed as, and that disconnect has contributed directly to the game dropping from over 40k online at opening to barely 1500 in 9 months. That’s horrible, and not something any game can survive for long.
  20. when you think pirates, the first thing that comes to mind is not lions and tigers and bears, oh my. It's ships, cannons and cutlasses, hidden treasure and walking the plank. Atlas so far has been long on things that can already be found in Ark, but that don't really have all that much to do with piracy. That's what people are irked about, that there isn't actually much pirating in the pirate game.
  21. Tell them there are starving children in impoverished places in the world (like say Bangladesh or Detroit) who would love to have that PC version and if they want desert they will eat it or no tv for a week.
  22. Oh I think that’s the detail I assumed the Op knew, that Sony doesn’t do EA games.
