  1. Still no patch. Maybe they meant 7pm pacific time today and not yesterday.
  2. Yes its not a perfect strategy. But it can help. It is PvP afterall if things were completely indestructible then it would be called PvE. I find that underwater stone houses work best for securing blueprints, etc. Even if someone does find one of them its very difficult to destroy.
  3. Thankyou for your honesty. To be clear I am not defending devs. But I do think this prerelease is a lot of fun even in its current state of confusion. They did a really great job on the water effects. The ocean actually feels like an ocean. And when you are on your ship deck seeing the cannon balls flying towards you and exploding ship parts when they hit is awesome. Grappling onto another players ship is great too. The rest of the game is unpolished at this point but I can see the potential once they figure all that out.
  4. 7232 views to this post. That's a lot of interested players.
  5. 3. Don't buy Hydra revolvers they are garbage. Better off carrying around a bag full of flintlock instead.
  6. So the other day I stumbled across a couple players using a cannon on a small thatch house. I perched myself behind the perps and had a clear view of my target. I only had my Hydra revolver with me but I took aim and unloaded 6 rounds direct hit to the back of the head of the cannon shooter. 6 rounds to the head and the person still had more than half their health. Is this normal ? To be clear this thing uses the same bullets as a regular flintlock. There is no difference in ammunition caliber. Something is broken inside my revolver.
  7. I am not going to argue that George. You might be right time will tell. It is not the original development team as you have acknowledged in some of your previous posts. Coming from a programming background I can assure you that working out bugs in code written by someone else is no treat... In my opinion they would be better off taking this awesome game idea and starting with a clean slate. But my opinions were never popular.
  8. I use my xbox to kill time. I need to kill another 20 years or so and that should be enough. You are correct in that I am not paid. By these developers or anyone else. I am retired and I choose to kill some time being a pirate. So I choose to focus on the positive aspects of the game like the awesome water effects and the feeling of my ship swaying with the tides. This demo is still broken but it has a lot to offer for anyone interested in new adventures. Good enough ? Good.
  9. You didn't buy a game. You knowingly bought a prerelease game demo. Anyone playing this now is getting a sneak peak into what a great game this will eventually become. Yes it has been a 3 year project so far and there has been several changes in developers working on it. But the reason we all stick around and keep trying it is because we all know the potential this has. That includes you with all your negative comments. You love it so much you can't leave it alone. Why else do you keep posting here ?
  10. You could have logged in and been playing on the PvP server for the last seven days. I don't think you really tried that hard to play.
  11. Never a better time to try the PvP server. Adventure awaits.
  12. I use 2 weight sails on mine. Not so slow afterall I can chase down Cogs no problem. This ship is meant to have weight sails. Large if your blueprint allows it. You need to reduce your total weight to approx 30 percent to be the fastest turtle in the sea. Also this thing handles pretty decent when sails are turned opposite to the wind and half throttle I can do doughnuts in the water.
  13. PvP has problems too. People are crossing grids and when they get to other side are no longer in their company. Even solo players... At least we can log in but it is at the risk of losing everything too.
  14. 2K trade ships but have any trades completed for you ? Is your market earning gold ?
  15. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScI-5LATwVbLoGrnGRzDHgrEreWxA5T16xKN9hX9WsFalwh6w/viewform Here is a link to their bug reporting people if you didn't already
  16. The reason I play open world sandbox games like Atlas is because there is no one way to play. Like choose your own adventure there is no way to play that is "different than what was intended". I personally don't believe in Hydra or giant sea monsters so killing bosses and travelling through pathfinder portals will never happen in my character's lifetime. I log in to enjoy the water effects and the rolling waves. I like how my ship bobs and sways with the ocean tides. I enjoy sea encounters with other players - some friendly some not. All the rest of the features are just fluff and have nothing to do with being piratey. Owning islands and maintaining farmhouses is Farmville 2.0 and its not the reason I bought this game.
  17. Everyone has their own truths and none of them are the same. There is something to think about George. As Nacona informed us the Wiki is maintained by players. Anyone who has the time can create an account and start updating it if they want.
  18. I agree with 1,2,3,5,6. But handcuffs are kinky and fun. If I could add suggestions : - I think big companies should have advantages but not allow them to claim multiple islands. I would go so far as to say there is no company out there that needs even one entire island to themselves. - In my opinion they should scrap the entire claim tower system and just let builds happen. And maybe somehow limit the number of structures that can be built per company. Ya ya people use multiple accounts but that happens in every single MMO. - And maybe implement a harbour system at a freeport or somewhere for a daily gold rate so that EVERYONE has a safe place to park a ship. There would be more fun PvP battles at sea if we could just log in, hop on our boats and sail out
  19. If you stick to thr medium or smaller islands you should be fine. My xbox crashes non stop also but only on larger islands. Hope this work around helps you enjoy your game trial a little better.
  20. I agree. That's why I don't leave Rookie Cove anymore. Central Waters is for big company playstyle and small groups or solo like me won't last more than a day there. They need to balance the game so that small companies can get a foothold on an island that can't be stolen simply by placing a few claim towers. Or something like that i don't know what is best. But the way it is now you have to stay in Rookie Cove unless you join a big company. Pretty lame.
  21. Don't listen to Mr. Crabby panties i think he has been using this pre release for too long and things are mixed up in the head. PvP is the only way to to enjoy the game. You want ship battles and to be boarded by other pirates ? PvP If you are on Xbox you can check under the Friends tab and there is always posts from others looking for recruits.
  22. Woah. Your opinions on Atlas pvp are an interesting point of view. But don't worry George I will be fine and so will everyone else that plays their PvP in rookie cove like me. Maybe its time to get an imagination. Not everyone is trying to make it big or join a mega company. There is more to the game than just that. Pondering your rant just made me think of another tip for noobs : 2. You can build stone houses underwater on ocean bottom to keep blueprints and other items safe. Use pillars to get started. Very hard to destroy since grenades don't reach and guns cannot shoot undewater.
  23. I had a ramming galley last season. I think the controls were some combination of a Left bumper button and either L3 or R3. Definitely start the combination with a left bumper press. Sorry but old man brain is foggy and i don't have a ship to experiment on right now. Like press top left bumper and then click L3. Or try other combinations with bottom left bumper. It is probably a 3 button combination (LB + RB + R3) Something like that. You will figure it out eventually and they are awesome at increasing speed.
