don pedro

so i logged in and created a new character for the first time in a couple of patches. i farmed some matts quickly and created a crude tool. as soon as i dragged it into my first slot my game crashed and i have not been able to log in since. does anyone have any ideas? i've tried verifying integrity of files and i'm currently reinstalling atlas even though another post on the steam forums said that does not work.
