  1. (Official pve) Unless they do something with h11 monopoly on twigs, I sure as hell would rather use a giraffe to collect them than by hand. Or you can buy them at 250g per 1000 from lotus and mess around with setting that up. Maybe you can fill me in on a way to trade with them via market trade. Or "renting" one of their farms. On 5x harvesting I friggin load up! Point being there is a time and a place for tames. There is an economy based on tames and breeding. I've interacted with more people due to tames than any other element in the game. Taking that away is taking a pillar of the game out. This game is huge and has depth. There is so many things to figure out and utilize in this game. To be short sighted and want to only sail around and shoot things from your ship seems elementary to me. Don't get me wrong, it's a pay off from hard work but to have the best stuff to do that with, you need to utilize the tools provided in the game and tames being one of them. How quickly can you get to the ocean floor on the back of a crab? Almost instantly. If you're freezing, jump on a wolf. If your over heating, jump on an ostrich. Instead of beating on rocks like a cave man, do it in style with a rhino. Gathering and moving materials without tames just makes the game more simple and more of a tedious grind. Tames bring a whole other large element to the game. Why wouldn't you want them in the game? Its more enjoyable collecting materials imo than fn around with that damn market. I have 10 collecting and trading and funneling materials to a central base and I spend more time turning on farms and traveling to them so they don't decay and messing with trades than just playing the game. I'm losing more and more interest in the game messing with them because it has turned into a job. Tames are fun and useful. Bottom line. More so than these dumb pre-made ships. Leave the tames, lose the pre-made ships imo!
  2. To reply to your confusy face, 250% bp + lvl 120 crow + dolphin perk + lvl 90 character maxed in intelligence (~17%) = a little less than 300% cannon. With the math out of the way, place 18 of them on the back of a brig. Now agro a hydra and kite it off shore, to which it doesn't get very far from, and it take less than 400 cannon balls (accuracy is bad in auto shoot) at 18 per volley, that equals out to 2000 mythos in a little over a minute. Mythos sell for 1:1, so 2000g in a little over a minute. Try that with that kraken boat psssssss.
  3. Some of these guys must not see the value of adding an extra 17% on top of 250% damage mythical cannons. Maybe if they saw what 18 300% damage cannons do to a hydra, they may change their minds.
  4. I also took the survey and found myself typing, "give these pre-made ships value. They don't offer anything i can't get from building my own" for 80% of the questions. I can build an all mythical ship that repairs itself when anchored. Why would i want this other crap. The fun is in getting the mythical stuff, getting high lvl crows, getting dolphins, using maxed out components and designing it to fit my needs. Pre-builts are overpriced, boring, slow, un-customizable, worthless floating toilets. And on top of that, even at 50% more damage on common cannons, it doesn't compare to the mythical ones I've built that are 150%+ more. That renders the kraken perk useless. So all you really get are no pros and all cons.
  5. I think at minimum hide and Keratin should be tradable. You can trade gems but not hide?
  6. Get over it dude. You don't know what trash is, if you did, you'd climb in a bag curbside.
  7. I did the same with no luck also. I find it peculiar that I demoed 3 claim towers yesterday and placed a new one and a farm all before the 45 min timer was up then logged off for a bit. Came back within an hour and the game was broken. This buffer overflow thing happens when placing towers, so i hope this doesn't have anything to do with what I did. Similar thing happened at update when towers reached 100% the game crashed. Again I logged off before the towers were at 100% and got back on within an hour and same result. Maybe logging off before towers are at 100% is some wacky bug? I logged off with my character within the claim radius? I hope they fix this. This is ridiculous.
  8. Outgoing reliable buffer overflow? Yeah d7 in pve also. Good times. The state of this game is stellar. Posted bugs earlier today now this. Maybe the scarecrow from wizard of oz is running the show over there.
  9. The buffer is reliably overflowing in d7 pve. I'm invisioning a fax machine sound and the server screaming out no compute! No compute!
  10. Something is bugged with the naming aspect of game. Lost a dolphin and now a seahorse in same manner. They both were not named. They vanish if to close to structures being demolished. Spawning on unnamed beds is bugged. If you can't spawn on it, you can if the name is changed. There are other anomalies I've noticed associated with naming or unnaming things. Not going into detail about it, I've used these things to my advantage. This is an example of just one of many broken things in the game. Fix these things before adding more broken things. It is to your benefit so you can pin point new issues without it being an old unfixed issue that has existed for months now effecting new things implemented to the game. Another bug is something with placing foundation structures. Lost 100000g along with resources and warehouse. Had all this suspended above water on foundations/floors. Placed a Pillar, it didn't place right so I picked it back up and floors holding up all mentioned things, that were not even close by, crumbled into the sea. I sometimes lose doors at my base when demoing things. Just the doors demo when demoing other things. Annoying and weird. Please fix.
  11. Maybe for you, but I use them for the intelligence boost. That with a crow, I can get +15% quality on bp crafting. On mythical stuff that is huge. As far as riding it, yeah it doesn't have any real value me. The seahorse is also not valuable to me. It is faster than the dolphin though.
  12. I wouldn't mind playing pvp but I've been offline raided enough for it to be a waste of time. Fighting is one thing, having your base raided while you sleep is for chukiki's. No thanks. Pve is overrun with people and pvp needs to be downsized due to lack of players playing? From what I'm hearing, the devs are catering to the minority? No wonder this game is upside-down. The game needs to combine pve and pvp aspects into one game. Having both available. Having to pass through pvp area's to get resources or something to that effect. Not necessarily forcing pve players to combat, but rather, "if you want the good stuff" you'll have to run the gauntlet. That's real pirating. Pirates derived from stealing cargo from ships. If you want to transport resources, you run the risk of pirates stealing your shipment. The series "black sails" gives a good portrayal of how it was. Pirates weren't murdering psychopaths. They made a business of stealing and selling cargo. Buried treasure was hiding gold from others. A pirates bank or cash in the mattress. There is a solution to the pvp vs pve discussion. Devs need to get creative. We can all agree that offline raiding fits neither in pvp nor pve. That is a trolls survival tool. You know who I'm referring to.
  13. The game doesn't need to mold to what you need it to be so you don't get your shit pushed in. You need to be innovative and creative to overcome obstacles. Perseverance and intelligence to become this "hero" solo player. That's why you struggle, you have none of this. Ironically, sounds like pve is more for you.
  14. In that case, I hope they never reduce server or map size. Besides, what makes this game is it's size. What will it take for you to currently not post in forum?
  15. So I lost my entire base, warehouse and farm. Everything completely gone. I'm guessing due to decay because I wasn't there for a couple of weeks because (I thought) I was taking advantage of no decay timer in claimed areas to explore the map. Something i haven't really done. So put decay timer on claim structures! Put decay timer on claim towers! This false sense of security cost me everything at that base! It's comical because the claim towers won't decay but everything within it will?! Eventually there will be empty islands that nobody can use because every inch will be spammed by afk claim towers? If i didn't lose my base by decay then I have no idea what, and that needs to be addressed. Fix this game please! I keep preaching about how devs keep adding broken stuff on top of broken stuff. Pretty soon this game will be so far down the broken hole that dev team will be chasing their tails trying to figure out how to fix all the issues. I feel like every time I turn around I get to learn something the hard way, then instead of fixing it, adding something else I get to learn the hard way. Why does everything feel broken in this game? Come on now, FOCUS!
  16. I'm also currently in g8 and it's been down for 13+ hours now. Good times.
  17. You sound like a troll. People like you get the toxic ball rolling. People like you ruin games. Eventually you'll find yourself alone, if you aren't already. Now you can stand on top of the stuff you didn't earn brag to deaf ears because nobody's listening. They're all gone.
  18. There is talk of removing claimed islands and just using this claim system. Either way I was in golden age collecting mythos and instead of finding nearest island and going to bed, I spent 1hr sailing into the wind back to base because I didn't want to leave it in golden age. And I was only 3 severs over. Sailing through lawless (which should be called lawed now) to find a claimed island to anchor at is a waste of time. It shouldn't have to be like this. Thus the title of thread.
  19. In the current state of game for pve, I can't really sail anywhere remotely far away. Where can I anchor when I'm 2hrs away from my claim? I sail 2 hrs to do a map then sail 2hrs back all in one jaunt? I'm SEVERELY restricted when sailing ANYWHERE. How am i to go anywhere or do anything in this game anymore? Was this completely overlooked? Am I missing something? A claim bouy can be placed by my anchored ship and I'm sol, right? So how do we go anywhere that isn't close to our claim? I'm baffled. Here is a great way to resolve this. How about at the cost of gold at x per day, I pay the claim I'm on to anchor there. Another way to distribute gold. Hotspots will be points of interest. Another issue is I have an unclaimed ship in my claim and they left it to rot but it's seems to not be decaying. The npc's are now gone but the planks have the same health as they did before the update. So now I have to claim it or it will never go away. Was this also overlooked? Am I missing something here as well? I am just in a state of utter confusion to when new things are implemented, that these types of things are issues? It feels like devs are spitballing new ideas with complete disregard for the repercussions. This is going to be a long and frustrating road at this rate. Or Is It to give the players ideas to give back to them, but that would take them listening to the feedback and I don't feel that the players are getting heard as much as they should. I'm not trying to hate or be harsh, it's that this is the persona of the game and I'm not the only one that feels this way. This isn't difficult stuff imo. Other games jump these hurdles with ease. This feels like the hurdles in the special Olympics. I'm sorry that this is how I feel. It's just frustrating as all hell.
  20. I have the same thoughts. I can't travel anywhere anymore because if I have to log off for a bit because of the existence of life outside of this game, I can't just anchor somewhere for a couple hours. On top off that I have an issue where there is a ship within my claim that I didn't claim that someone left to rot only now it doesn't rot. It's not decaying. The npc's are all gone but the planks health are the same as 5 days ago. So now I have to claim it or it will never go away. Is the objective of claiming ships to clear up shorelines, or clutter them with claimed ships or unclaimed ships that don't decay. Devs need to express their intentions so we can give feedback on what is or isn't wrong. Don't know the purpose of buoy. Just a toxic tool for toxic players imo.
  21. This game went from hearing the waves crashing and jungle noises while enjoying all the things this game has to offer, to being stressed out (because I'll probably be the less fortunate one after the dust settles) wondering where it will be safe to go in the game once I have the ability to log back in. The introduction of the towers was not thought through from what their functions are. My ships will be vulnerable to be claimed while I sleep by whomever claimed the shoreline that I'm anchored at using the claiming buoy. After the announcement of these claiming structures in the update all the toxic possibilities started running through my head. If you play the game you would know why this will restrict game play abilities not expand. I to somewhat understand what devs are trying to do but this creates more issues than it solves. I to feel the game will never officially launch because of these tail chasing ideas. I can't logically wrap my head around why the game isn't getting tuned by fixing bugs before we move on to implementing more broken things. Spending time coding in hats for animals is like a slap in the face when there's issues with just being able to play the game. I hope I'm not coming off as hating on the game because I this game has the potential to be epic. I just feel it's being driven into ground with a pile driver of short sighted ideas, horrible execution and lack of foresight. The players are their r and d team. If you were a developer, would you treat your team like the players are getting treated? By treated I mean lack of communication and ignorance? Sorry for the rant. Just want to be heard. P.s. I play in pve because I feel pvp to be to volatile and labor intensive, so maybe that's why my view is what it is.
  22. What I'm gathering here is that you need to place as many towers as you can before the first one hits %100 because after that happens nobody in that company can load in? Not sure. I couldn't see a radius around tower while placing. Could only see it when viewing the map. Demoed a couple trying to get my warehouse and farm in same radius. Looking forward to seeing 1/2 buildings claimed and other things that nature. Starting to think the crashing after the first tower was deliberate or dumb luck. Big companies' have only 45 min to claim entire islands after the first one is placed before the game crashes. I feel sorry for the guy that threw gold at it to speed it up.
  23. I think the more you place the more it costs i got down about 6 and the last one took 5 points to place. Then the game suddenly imploded and I can no longer log on. What does "outgoing reliable buffer overflow" even mean? Gibberish for "no compute"?
  24. Now the game crashes when loading in. Hopefully it's just the mad scramble on claim towers. I'm cringing just thinking of the aftermath. Hopefully everyone takes this whole thing lightly. Most of all I hope the wipe comes sooner than later. I'm sure there's going to be some disgruntled players not wanting to try to start over just to have it wiped again. Some players after this will be sol. I think this was a gallant effort with horrible timing but hey, this should be fun to watch unfold. Hope the devs take notes.
