I was a little annoyed at this change but it's not so bad. We generate more than enough coal from our Grill, fires and forge to keep our farmhouses producing. A lot of areas also self propagate as they generate coal as well. It's a little annoying but not that big a deal for me anymore.

I'm looking forward to some of these PvE ocean jobs. It would be awesome having a crab boat, setting strings with the 30 pots I've made and my team mate using a grappling hook to get the pots. As long as the ocean jobs are rewarding and you can make out a decent living catching crab, shrimp or even some long lining this would add to the experience in game. There's a long way to go before this becomes a reality though as you guys (the dev team) need to focus on fixing what is already implemented but I like the ideas that are being considered.

It's very disappointing. As a new player (with just under 100 hours) I was absolutely in love with this game until the latest patch. There is A LOT that is broken from the latest patch including my buddy losing 18 gun port planks for our Galleon because he dropped them to me and they "phased" out of the map. We can't build a Galleon to continue on our journey because he can't place when building and he says he is running around but to me he stands in one spot and doesn't move and he can't access inventories or anything (this all happened after he levelled up in game). I'm hoping these issues are rectified with some sense of urgency as I'd love to continue playing but it looks like I'll be playing solo because my friend has uninstalled the game. I won't be playing until everything has been fixed but based upon what I've read in the forums it could be awhile as the developers seem to be lackadaisical in their approach to updating things that are broken.

So me and my friend were playing and I mentioned that people were crashing to desktop when levelling up due to the new patch and he tried it to see if it happened. He didn't crash to desktop but something worse happened. My friend and I after he levelled up continued to build the Galleon that we had finally managed to gather all of the resources for (even after you guys stiffed us with the farmhouse update). My friend has the skills to build the Galleon so all good there. He then couldn't place the gun ports on the Galleon where they were able to be placed and then he tried passing 18 gun ports to me. I said I'd come up to him to get them and he said I already dropped them in front of you. Confusion ensued. He was running around and could see me running around yet for me he was standing in one spot. He couldn't access inventories, couldn't place anything and couldn't do anything. I couldn't see anything he had indicated where he made his drop. My friend then logged out and logged in again. Still scuffed. He then ran a validation on all game files and found corrupted data. He validated and repaired and the game is still scuffed for him, he cannot do anything in the game whatsoever. Congratulations. With one patch you've destroyed it all and the game is now unplayable. Maybe this had something to do with levelling up, perhaps it is a separate bug but there are a lot of issues with the latest update and it's frustrating because we were really starting to get into this game and were really enjoying it. Last night we would crash to desktop just by searching for craftables in the skills menu and now we literally can't do anything. My friend has since uninstalled and most likely I will do the same as there isn't anything I can do with a half built Galleon at this stage and we needed to get this built for further progression. With hours spent grinding resources and this being the end result. Not surprised the whole community is leaving this half arsed attempt at a video game in the dust. Very disappointed.

Hello! I wanted to check out the recipe of craftables after the new updated and typing anything in the craftables search box under "Skills" crashes the game. Can replicate this bug over and over.

Agreed. Built a nice harbour... Wiped in an hour.

Why farmhouses now need to use coal and oil as fuel befuddles me. The game will be a complete resource grind without effective use of farmhouses and how they generate materials by using wood/thatch. I live in a lawless region and I'm forever having to re-build ships because they get barrel blasted when I'm offline. Just last night me and a company member were discussing how much of a grind this game would be without the farmhouses as they currently exist and well, you guys took the wind out of our sails. I will now need to farm coal and oil in order to produce fuel for me to be able to use the farmhouses for other resources which is going to be a pain in the ass. I hope that the farmhouses that were generating coal continues to do so otherwise most of my time is going to be spent resource grinding which I already do enough of. I'm enjoying the game but there are a few things that gets changed in updates which effect the QOL for smaller companies and solo players. EDIT: This problem isn't as bad for me as I first thought as most of the farms in my area generate coal so the farms self propagate with resources. I feel for those that don't have access to farms that generate coal. I just hope others have the etiquette to leave a lump of coal in the farmhouses and don't just loot everything like they did when I logged back on after the update
