  1. Yep, that didn't seem to change behavior either. However, I uninstalled and reinstalled again about 30 minutes after I posted this and now the game suddenly works, so it only took redownloading & installing the game five times (and over half a terabyte of data!) to finally get it to work
  2. Hrmmm. Does this game have a persistent connection to their servers from launch? I can launch the game, and literally do nothing after than, just let it sit at the main menu, and it will eventually close/crash after a few minutes. When I do try and play, it doesn't matter if I select Single Player or try and connect to a server. CTD. I have three friends who also just picked the game up on Steam this week and it's playable for them.
  3. This game is crashing on my system at various points, but all points are before actually playing the game itself. When I launch the game I can let it sit at the main menu and it will eventually simply close/crash to the desktop after a few minutes with no error message. Sometimes I can get into the section where I can click the button to launch a single player game, but doing that simply returns me to the main menu, where it eventually crashes back to the desktop, again with no error message at all. I've tried it in every mode: fullscreen, windowed, etc., every preset setting: Ultra, Low, etc., Added -lowmemory to the shortcut, verified the cache via Steam at least 10 times now (which, btw, every single time it says that there was one file missing), uninstalled/reinstalled four times (at 113 GB per...), disabled Steam overlay, moved some WMV files out of the movie directory (and then moved them back)... Then there's the issue with having a VR headset: Every single time I launch the game it also launches the Oculus software, but I don't even have my headset plugged into the computer. Atlas seems to crash faster if I close the Oculus software, but I'm not entirely sure how much faster. At any rate, I have well over a hundred games on this system, and this is literally the only game that can't be played, or even crashes regularly for that matter. I've spent about two hours reading posts, trying different things and at this point I am out of ideas.
