  1. Yea, my Servergrid.ServerGridOnly.json has the same ports 6379 for the database. I never changed the database settings, so they are default.
  2. Yes mine is exactly the same. How do I test if the database is properly linked? I tried removing the db once as a test and all the characters were wiped. I put back the original (I backed it up before wiping the database) and everything is back to normal (aka the original characters are back.) One thing and this may have just been a typo, but you have the file listed as "Servergrid.ServerGridOnly.json", but on my server it is "Servergrid.ServerOnly.json". Is it supposed to be "Servergrid.ServerGridOnly.json"? Oh, one question. The database is on the same physical server as the grid server, so I don't need to port forward port 6379 right? I'm guessing no since it is using the loopback IP 127.0.0.1. Thanks
  3. Does anyone else have these issues? I tried it again and everytime I leave grid A1 to go to grid A2, I spawn in at A2 on a random island with no items or equipment. My boat is also lost. I really wanted to host a 2x2 server and open it for public play, but with this apparently constant issue I have no choice but to only run a single grid server which really sux. I hope someone here might be able to help me or at least might know what causes this issue. Any help is appreaciated.
  4. So my 2x2 server is up and running fine now, but I'm having in game issues that I'd like to ask if others are aware of and if there are known fixes or work arounds. Then I have a few questions about changing my server grid if the issues I mention can't be resolved currently. Ok, so the other night I was in grid 0x0 and sailing about. I accidentally entered grid 0x1 which as normal took a few moments to transfer into. The problem is that when I came through I found myself on an island in the middle of the grid (not a freeport mind you) and my boat was gone. I then noticed my tool belt was empty and so was my inventory. It was as if I died and respawned, except I didn't respawn in my home server nor at a freeport. Is this a known issue or is there a known way to avoid this? I don't want to open my server and have players experiencing these issues. So, these are some questions I have related to the above issue. 1. I tried restoring the server save to the previous backup, but my character was still as if newly resurrected minus all items and my boat is still gone. i'm thinking that the Redis database probably needs being backed up too. I tried wiping it out (backed it up first) and of course I learned doing that wipes the characters, although any buildings and such remain. I now wrote a script that backs up and archives the save directory and the redis directory every hour on my server. The question is this... If a restore is required due to something like a crash or bug like I experienced above, is it required to restore both the save sub folders for all 4 servers and the Redis db as well? 2. If the transferring from grid to grid causes the error I mentioned more than once in a rare while, I am thinking of perhaps going to a single grid server and dropping the 2x2 setup. I mean who needs a 2x2 if travelling between grids kills you and tosses you on some random island in the grid you entered, plus all gear and the boat are lost. My question is this. Is it possible to build a 1 grid server then over time when the current grid has been completely explored, add a second grid as a separate server, have the players transfer over to that new grid and then shut down the old grid, but have it saved in case we eventually wish to switch back? I'm thinking it may work by using a 2x2 template grid but only activating the first grid and then when ready to leave the first grid to move to the second, you temporarily enable the two grids, let the players travel to the new grid, then shut down the first grid as everyone would be on the second grid now. Is this a valid way to do that? well, that is all I guess. I hope some one might have some suggestions, or advice on my above ramblings. thanks in advance.
  5. Is there a way to direct connect to a server by directly entering an IP? I think Ark had such a feature, but it may have been Conan Exiles or some other game. I recall an option to enter a server IP and connect directly instead of having to connect through the list.
  6. Ok. thanks I gotta put my server back up and somehow try to see it online. My friend cant find it in the listing, but I see it. My server is in the same house, but on a separate network, so I should see the same thing my friend does or rather he should see what I see, but he claims he can't. I'll keep working on this to see if it is my friend with the issue or if my server is really not showing on the list.
  7. Hi. I've been wrestling with this issue for a few days now. An Internet search brought up posts and discussions where people claim to have this issue, but I haven't seen a reliable resolution. I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me. When I launch Atlas and go to the server list, I can see my server. My friend who lives on Florida cannot see my server in the list. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? I did host an Atlas server a year ago or so and we were able to play fine. I've also run Ark, DnL, Conan Exiles, and other games as dedicated servers in the past and also had no issues. Any help is appreciated. 8. Phoenix125. Thanks a bunch for that info. I tried it and it works! My server is now up and running with no known issues. I just finished playing for the last hour or two. Lots of fun.
  9. I've tried those suggestions a few times. Both wiping the entire save folder contents and wiping the database in the redis folder. My Save sub folder has four separate save folders within. A1, A2, B1, and B2, so I believe the servers are being saved separately. I just cant figure out why this issue is happening when it appears I have everything in order. The answer is either I missed something basic or the system is bugging out somehow. I'm staying positive though as I started with many issues a few days back when I first started setting up my server. Eventually I was able to resolve issue after issue with help via research and from community members such as you (thanks a bunch ). I'm sure this will get fixed eventually. Oh. Do you think it would be ok to paste my json contents in a code field here in the thread? The file is too big to attach normally.
  10. I use ASC to launch so there is no command lines, but I'll attach my json and server.only.json. See attached. Ok, I cant attach my json because it is 256kb and the max upload is 160kb. Should I cut and paste it in a post directly? It is a rather large json due to 4 grids and lots of islands per grid. I did attach my server.only.json but I'm not sure if it is really needed. ServerGrid.ServerOnly.json
  11. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I tried setting all the other islands in the grid to -1 but it doesn't seem to help. One weird issue is that each time I save the json and then remove the server side json with the latest save, the default spawn island seems to change from the previous json. It seems like the server is still randomly picking a spawner location for each grid. I did try leaving one grid and going to another then I killed myself and set the first grid back as my home server which respawned me back at the first grid I visited. I spawned on the same island as when I first logged into that grid, so the specific island I want to spawn on is not working, but once the server launches and decides (randomly) which island in each grid is going to be the spawn island, that island remains the spawn island.
  12. So... I've been wrestling with my 2x2 grid server for the last few days. One by one all the issues appear to have been resolved except this last one. I'm hoping someone might have some info for me. So, the issue is that I have at least 1 Freeport island in each of the 4 grids on my server. I have all 4 grids set as a Home Server so that upon joining the player can choose any of the four grids to start in. The problem is that I setup through the grid editor a single Freeport island per grid and then edited the Spawn Region for each grid. I researched and followed the information I found online on how to do this. Unfortunately, it isn't working. While a player can join any of the 4 grids, you get spawned on an island that is NOT the Freeport island that I setup in the grid editor. Has anyone else had this issue and does anyone know what may be wrong? I'll include the options I followed below to show what I've done and perhaps that might give someone an idea of what is wrong or what I did wrong to get the Freeport island in each grid to be the only spawn point. 1. I set each grid to NOT use "AutoGenerateIslandSpawnRegions". This command would randomly drop a new player on a random island in the grid. This is disabled, so shouldn't be the issue. 2. In each grid I followed these steps to make a single Freeport island the spawn region. Control-Left Click on an Island to bring up the "Island Instance" tab. There you need to set the "spawnPointRegionOverride" to 1 or more for each spawn island you have on a grid. On my server I set the following: Grid 0,0 = 1, Grid 0,1 = 2, Grid 1,0 = 3, Grid 1,1 = 4. Next, I set the "Spawn Region" on each server grid by Control-Left Click on the water area of each grid. The Edit Server tab opens. I then click on the "Spawn Regions" button which opens the Edit Spawn Regions tab. Within this tab I entered the Name of the Freeport Island and the Parent Cell which is 0,0 for grid 0,0 to 1,1 for grid 1,1. I then saved and exported the json file. After doing this the spawn region on each grid should be set and working, except I'm still being spawned on an island that is NOT the Freeport island, it is a random island in the grid. Does anyone have any advice or information on what might be wrong? Thanks in advance. John
  13. I made the IP changes and it appears to have fixed the issue. Thanks for your advice, the server is working properly now.
  14. ServerGrid.json I've attached the json file. As for the command lines, I'm using ASC program to launch the game. I also tried using a command line, but the results are the same. Oh and I tried completely opening all the ports on the server box as a test to see if this was a port forwarding issue, but even with all ports open, the issue happens. Here is the command line / batch file I was using, but I'm back to using the ASC program thus the batch files arent used anymore. d: cd\ cd atlas\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64\ start ShooterGameServer.exe Ocean?ServerX=1?ServerY=0?AltSaveDirectoryName=00?ServerAdminPassword=?MaxPlayers=34?ReservedPlayerSlots=2?QueryPort=57564?Port=5764?SeamlessIP=22.112.117.145 -log -server I tried everything and was up late last night trying to resolve it. I made some progress as I was able to finally get all four grids to show when you first join the server and choose a starting grid/freeport. Originally I was only able to choose grid 0,0 or A1, so I got that much resolved, but now when attempting to connect to grids A2, B1, or B2 I get my previous post error message and I'm kicked back to the server select screen.
  15. Ok. I think your suggestion may have helped some. I completely wiped my json files from the shootergame folder, then transferred the newly saved version from the actual grid editor and now I see all four grids on my map when I first try to join the server. Still, there is a problem. If I attempt to start in grid 0,0 aka A1, I get taken to the character creation screen as normal. If I try to start in A2, B1, B2, I get the attached error message.
