  1. I didn't know it was possible to retrieve a saved copy of the game. I have never had to do something like that in the PC games I play. ( I never played Ark either). I couldn't find anything online on how to do that either so if you have info on how to do that it would be good to know.
  2. You must not have read the post before commenting. How would a cannon get the pirates that are deep under the ground? Even if the pirates weren't under ground I didn't have the hundreds of cannonballs to get through the 7 layered buildings. I don't care if you find other peoples misfortune funny as long as new players are saved from making the same mistakes I made starting out in Atlas.
  3. Ok now this all makes sense. If they pulled the lead designers team for Ark: Genesis and he quit then I totally understand why nothing is getting done to fix this game. Time to find a different game folks.
  4. Wild Pirate Camps are endlessly full of bugs. Does anyone know if they are working on fixing them? This post was written over a week as I discovered new and unbelievable bugs related to wild pirate camps. I have noticed ever since I have been clearing the camps when I die I respawn at the beds inside of the pirate houses. I just died from overheating while on my ship (One of the worst game mechanics I have ever seen in a game!) I hit respawn on bed which I assumed was on my ship near where I died but instead it was the nearest Pirate camp I cleared. I spawned in a building at M8 that is covered in 6 or 7 layers of the same building and I'm stuck on the bed because the sloped roof is right over the bed. It doesn't matter anyway since I have no way to break out of the building and even if the buildings weren't so messed up the stone doors are locked so I'm trapped. The only way out is death or admin cheats to ghost through the walls. The building from the last death was so layered that there was no door and only 10000 hp walls and ceilings showing. The Wild Pirate Camps in N8 were not in layers but they were still bugged and poorly placed on the islands. One camp had pirates level 200+ and half of the camp was under water. The next camp had lower level pirates no more than level 100 but as usual there were two pirates under the ground "swimming" in the underworld water. The only way to get to them is using cheat ghost and as usual I had to relog to stop falling through the world when deactivating the ghost cheat. One of the pirate camps on Bellto Holm in N8 is completely underwater. Every pirate is sitting on their guns deep underwater. There had to be 20 pirates at the camp that came up to swim after you when you knock them off their underwater guns. One of the camps on Ogeview Islands in N8 has Puckles partially buried in the ground firing with no pirate on them so basically an auto-turret. The damage was much higher than usual and I lost my high level tiger before I could see what was happening. The tiger kept getting hung up on the guns in the camp and was getting rapid fire on it. I fought my first Wild Pirate Galleon and as usual the game found a way to screw me. It took over 200 cannonballs to see the health bar even start to decrease. When I got it to half health I got hit by massive cyclone storms where everything was completely dark. It was the first time I ever saw everything go completely dark. Only thing I saw was the cyclones and the name of the galleon behind me. I was still hitting the Galleon through all of the cyclones and had it less than half health when one of the dozen cyclones that formed on my ship pulled me to the next zone (which I couldn't see until it was to late). That officially ended the fight as the Galleon vanished at that point. I ended up with 148 cannonballs after starting with 618, so if this is what they want the wild pirates to be like then I have no time or energy to keep doing this. Having to stop at an island and grind for materials to replace the many hundreds of cannonballs after each wild pirate fight, wasting hours of my time is getting old. If they are trying to make it like fighting a player then the least they could do is show damage on the health bar if you are constantly hitting so you can judge if you have enough ammo to finish them off or not. 200 cannonballs to see health start to drop then another 270 to get it to just below half health, yeah I won't be doing that ever again. There was a Wild Pirate brigantine sailing around another island in N9 with no sails or anyone on the wheel. Almost caught me off guard. I just died once again from overheating on my ship at the power stone island in O7 and the game bugged on respawn and locked up. I log on the next day and try to respawn on my ship but instead I respawn at a wild pirate camp on the farthest island of N8 (the last pirate camp I cleared). What the hell is going on with this game? This game is so broken that it is doomed to fail. All of this has finally convinced me to turn off wild pirates or just avoid them all together. I don't know what else there is to do in the game so likely I won't be playing this much longer. PvP looks like a complete mess of exploitations and griefers so I will avoid that. There are so many other problems other than the wild pirates so unless the developers do something to improve the game then it will completely fail. If they can somehow fix these problems and add some good content to the game I will be more than happy to come back to Atlas.
  5. This post is directed at new players or people thinking about starting up Atlas. Veteran players likely already knew about these problems so they can disregard. I have been playing for a couple months now and I am finding new bugs I've never heard about on a daily basis. I'm finding out too late that many of the bugs have been reported or talked about 7 or 8 months ago so it is hard to find them unless you get specific in your search. I lost EVERY ship and EVERY single tame because I tried to find a way to get past the Atlas crippling Wild Pirate camps bug. I started to figure out how to beat the wild pirate camps and their ships but then came the 7 layer buildings the pirates were under. Yes 7 different layers of the same object, such as 7 cannons stacked on each other, 7 roofs, 7 doors, 7 water barrels, just absolutely everything is placed in 7's. Because every object in every camp had 7 layers to them, it pushed the pirates under the structures as well as under the ground itself. I couldn't stand this so I researched ways to reach the bugged pirates and found out you can use admin cheats to "Ghost" through the 7 layers to get to the Pirates. It worked so when I came across the pirates meshed into the structure I would activate the Ghost cheat to get to them and kill them then deactivate and move on to the next. I had to ghost underground to get pirates running around in the space under the map many times. It all was going as well as you can imagine given the situation but then I came to a pirate that was so meshed directly in the middle of 7 wood floors and ramps that nothing would get him off his cannon. I hit him with everything I had until there was nothing left but he just sat on his cannon like he had no care in the world. I didn't have anything strong enough to destroy all 7 of the floors and ramps unfortunately. This is where the game has become to much of a nightmare for me to continue playing. I was looking at the cheat list and saw one that said "cheat destroyallenemies" with the description saying "Destroys all enemies, they respawn eventually (also destroys ships)" The keyword here is ENEMIES!... not your own tames and ships. You got to be kidding me here, I instantly lost more than a dozen extremely high level tames (I only bother taming the highest level possible) and a powerful set of armored ships fully loaded and countless hours of time spent making and taming everything. Losing my armored Brigantine is really killing me right now. Why the hell would something that says "cheat destroyallenemies" completely destroy all of my tames and ships? I wish Nitrado the website that posted the cheats list said that you would lose everything instantly if you used this particular cheat. I think there should be warnings attached to broken administrative commands like this. I just found a very old post where a guy used this cheat and had everything erased so this has been around for a long time. I wish I would have found that post before using the destroyallenemies cheat. I have never played a game that was so overly bugged and nothing gets done about it. Why is nothing being done about any of this? I saw people talking about the buggy Pirate camps 7 months ago. I figured they would have been fixed by now so it makes me wonder if they are working on this game at all anymore. Oh yeah before they took everything from me when I was on the previous island, the pirate camps had an exact duplicate of their 7 layer camps floating high in the air right above it. The game is so bugged that they even have the same mess floating above the mess on the ground. When I went back home to my main base It was completely empty. the only thing left in my harbor was a dingy so thanks for leaving me something devs. I went from Warships to a dingy in an instant. Yes there are so many bad things I want to say about this game but I am trying to hold back. I really didn't want to use cheats at all and I am upset that I had to resort to using cheats to get past the buggy mess the devs created. I understand this is still a game in development but I don't see any progress happening and these particular glitches and bugs are complete game breakers. If there is one thing new players should take from this post is DO NOT USE "cheat destroyallenemies" no matter what! Actually don't use any of the cheats where you manipulate your character because even after you are done with the cheat your character will continually fall through the map. The only way I was able to stop this from happening is logging out. The "cheat fly" and "cheat ghost" can cause this to happen. You will have to kill them all again including the 7 layer mesh pirates if you don't clear the camp before logging out to fix the falling through the floor bug after cheat ghosting. It is sad because I really like much of this game but if the game can be bugged so bad and you can lose everything in an instant then it really is hard to keep going back for more torture. I know there are so many more bugs that could be listed here but none of us have the time to get into them. I tried to add screenshots of some of the bugs but for some reason they wouldn't let me do it. I'm new on this forum so not sure how to do everything or what can be done. Good luck in your adventures in the Atlas. I hope this post helps you all avoid having the same tragedy happen to you.
  6. Are the devs doing anything to fix this issue? I have had nothing but problems with this and it is messing up my game. I have 6 layers to my Wild Pirate camps and I believe the Wild Pirates ships are the same. I sunk one of the ships today and it took 125 cannon balls. I then went to wipe the camp like I have done in the past and it says 1 pirate is around the area. Of course it is under ground and I can't get to it. I was going to link screenshots but it seems they won't let me. How is it after 6 months this is still a problem? I'm not seeing many people talking about this either which is unusual. Devs please fix your game or tell your players how we can fix it.
