Creepy Uncle Feely

I finished this quest and do not see an instant equip either. Tested the pistol and carbine. Other items on Hotbar as well.

Why is it so difficult to spot discoveries with the spyglass now??? The blue haze is almost impossible to see and we are unable to find the them. I understand making things a challenge, but not an impossibility. please fix this.
