  1. I agree that they should add merchant ships with loads of weight however I don’t think they should turn the galleon into a merchant ship. There were many ships that were made purely as merchant ships so the devs could add them rather than change what’s currently available.
  2. I’ve seen many arguments about this topic and I see both perspectives. But the fact is without any sort of offline Protection new players simply won’t stay, when someone spends 6-12 hours of their spare time every day farming and building just to log on the next day and everything is gone and destroyed from an offline raid is infuriating. It’s not the fact that people destroyed the base or ships it’s the fact it was done while they were unable to protect themselves. If I lost a brig or a galleon in a ship fight I wouldn’t mind, they won fair and square but if someone sees my ship anchored and destroys it while I’m sleeping or at work then all I’m doing every day is wasting my time. There’s no progress when you gotta start from scratch every time you log on. The game has huge potential but requires my buildings and ships to be safe while I’m busy trying to live an actual life. A simple Protection timer would do fine, it could activate 15 minutes after logging off to prevent it being exploited in actual pvp fights and it can last 3-4 days and after that time is over then bases and ships can be destroyed while the players are offline. Something along these lines would work, but in its current state official servers simply aren’t fun for new players.
  3. A stronger force of wind in storms that’s harder to turn the wheel against, I’m fairly sure it’s possible and the devs have said they want more emphasis on sailing since this isn’t Ark 2. It’s a game based on pirates and naval combat so why not make sailing better.
  4. I’m sure the devs have had discussions about this but making the ship steering more realistic would be nice. I’ve currently become the main wheelman for my company so I spend a lot of my time steering the ship. So I noticed that there’s no tension when turning the wheel in high winds, in atlas all you have to do is point the analog stick the direction you want to go and it’ll turn even is storm weather so some form of tension to make sailing in storms more difficult would be great if possible.
  5. I’ve watched the future of atlas YT video so I know you all intend to add more ship variation. This is just a small list of ships I’d like to see. Ship of the line 1st rate (Man o war depending on ones perceived definition) Corvette Frigate Galley (Has oars for a little more control in the sea)
  6. I’d suggest buffing the ghost ships but serverly reducing their spawn rates making them rare/ super rare encounters. And use British, french, Spanish ships etc for the bulk of the ocean encounters instead. The feeling of sailing and all of a sudden seeing a British man o war on the horizon would be great. Each country could have different difficulties aswell depending on the country itself. A boss battle with Horacio Nelson on the HMS Victory would be epic.
