The game was an Ark user mod I believe, hence the assets I believe. Anyway on topic, I HATE the gold requirement. As a solo pve player I gave up late season. I got built around so had to move, but couldnt find anywhere that had room for a warehouse, some islands can only have one market. I made a warehouse and sailed in a tiny sloop that is too small to do anything with, for just over a month. Only places I could find were claimed islands and none of the owners allowed me to settle. This season I built a 4x4 shelter and built a warehouse first staying up to 2am to get that setup first. This time Ive just today built a Brig. Once you have a warehouse and market setup its super easy....if you can get in early the is. Anyway yes the gold requirement is absolutely stupid and game breaking for some.

Im not 100% sure what you are asking sorry, but normally the warehouse needs to be placed next to the sea. (Which is frustrating at half the area for farms is unusable). Not sure if that helps?

Hi I have to agree, I thought the plan was to get people out to sea rather than land based. Well for the first time Ive built a landbase, Im now just playing the game like an Ark reskin. Whereas before I was out in a Brig as my base. (Also a solo player)

Um Ark ran at 480p on xbox in the early days. Atlas is HUGELY improved over the same period of Ark. Ive NEVER seen a noticable res drop. I do however get lag spikes and maybe 20fps with people hoarding ships and tames. The only way round that is limits, but people cry of such restrictions. This weekend I saw someone on chat complaining cos a snake killed over 200 of their parrots. WTF is wrong with you that you need that many, breeding doesnt if you're culling correctly. Its a neverending battle. OP, Ark on official was the same on many of the servers I played on both with xbox and playstation (not sure about PC, but on PS4 server 34 had MANY bases that would blue screen everyone around them). Its the same hoarding behaviours, in EVERY game Ive played that doesnt place strict limits. Play on non ded with good admins, never had a problem then. Otherwise, its just anways gonna be that way Im affraid.

ARK was out on PS4 in EA........anyway OP ceystal balling using ARK as a reference maybe a year? This console bs is just rubbish. Im lucky enough to be in a position to be able to own both but really feel for those that cant. Its utter rubbish. This next gen Ive been tempted to look into PC but my experiences in the 90s just totally put me off it, still to this day

Because a large number of gamers seem to be hoarders. I had to move once already due to a solo player just building lots of ships for no reason. Cant remember how many exactly but was well over 20. Plus hundreds of tames cos zoo keeper sim. I'd hate to see their irl homes! Yuck!

I really struggle to understand this. You're playing a pirate game but have no interest in sailing? I have one small 'home' but spend almost my entire time sailing around the world. Exploration in this game is amazing. SOD can be a tad annoying though as a few times I have seen this issue of them spawning on top of you. But most of the time you can very easily sail around them. The only other time I havent been able to do that is in a Galleon. Even with two handling sails I still find it hard to alaway avoid them However in saying that a Galleon has sooo many HPs that you can just sail straight through them. With the Brig I have 1 handling sail and two speed sails and never have an issue with them outside the few times Ive had them spawn on you. As for the whales, never had an issue out sailing them, none of my ships have full speed sails and my Galleon only has 3 speed sails and 2 handling sails yet I still out run them with no issues (the number of sail slots is so silly, a brig should only have 2 masts and a Galleon 3) I have no tames, if I want to play zoo keeper I go play Ark. So, maybe for you its the wrong game? Keeping in mimd the game will be changing shortly to put more focus on sailing rather than playing this game as Ark 2.0. What is it exactly that you struggle with with out running whales/SOD. What ship(s) do you use? Sail setup? Are you trimmimg the sails correctly?

So I am currently sailing the world on my galleon I solo built last weekend with the insane rates. Decided today I prefer my Brig, so now I have a galleon to sail back home and decide what to do with.

Yep grew up sailing and it does my head in, they work the complete opposite way they shoud. Ive said it before but it still catches me out.

I play completely solo. Currently travelling the map in a Brig, have a couple of bases. Have only just got into taming as Zottel said, it takes longer so I focused on building, Ship Construction first. Got a NPC crew to make sailing fun though I solo'ed a three sail set brig with no issues, just had to be more careful at sea. The diving attachment makes getting coin easier, havent done the treasure maps yet. However, I find I get plenty of coin from diving for sunken treasure. I have always preferred playing games solo, Atlas seems easier than say Ark or Conan.

Im on N7 NA PVE had to leave my home Island due to this as well. Was on the northwestern most Island and lost 2 ships to this as well. One as soon ss I launched it even though it seemed to have plenty of depth. The second just stopped and somersaulted and sunk. Samething plenty of depth.

As someone who grew up sailing, it bugs me that the handling sail (I assume too for weight sail, however Ive never used them) work the opposite way they should. When tacking or with any form of crosswind the sails should be pulled in, when running downwind the sail should be out. It is extremely confusing that its the opposite way. It often catches me out.
