  1. I'm glad i'm not the only one that's been raising their concerns about this. This type of mechanic has no place in a PvE environment. The devs have literally made it possible for everyone on an island on PvE to be wiped at any time way longer beyond the initial 12 or 24 hours like they promised us originally. This is a major griefing tactic that needs to be pulled back out of PvE and re-thought before a new design implemented to achieve the desired result. It needs to go because the moment someone griefs an entire busy island on PvE that is a lot of players done with the game. A dev wipe of official network I can live with, but a player griefing an entire island on PvE just because THEY CAN? Absolutely not. @Dollie @Jatheish This needs to go before it is too late.
  2. Absolutely hate the 'raze' addition. This means that any day if my island owner decides to quit, someone else can come along and entirely wipe everyone's work on the island. @Dollie @Jatheish You honestly feel this is an encouragement for people to play? I for one know the moment someone new claims the island i'm on and if they wipe it then i'm done, i'm not rebuilding. I don't understand how in a PvE world you guys feel that it's ok for someone to come along one day and wipe everyone else.
  3. Did this a long time ago! Sadly it got destroyed when the ceiling underneath vanished as I demolished a structure elsewhere, and so I couldn't be bothered to gather all the paints again. Maybe one day. Just to point out, you can't see it in my picture as it wasn't there at the time I took the screenshot, but you can see it in the image linked in the OP, you will need to have a dot in the middle if you are having no text. You paint the image, but if you have no text it will default to 123456789 every so often. But if you put a . then it will be fine, you'll just have a dot there in the center.
  4. Hmm yes true, maybe they should despawn if in stasis for too long.
  5. Chances of someone recently being at the same spot having agrod SoD to the border is pretty slim with the current volume of players.
  6. Yep I have recently taken on advice of entering grids at a steep angle so you don't go head on into anything and if there is danger you have time to react or simply go back to the previous grid. I also still follow my own advice of travelling along the grid lines, that way you can cross grids in a straight line with no need of entering at a steep angle and have no surprises unless SoD spawn in corner of grids which i've not seen ever happen. But by crossing in the corner you've also got the immediate left or right grid to turn into if there is danger.
  7. What we need is decay timers displayed on ships like structures do, that would help clear up some of the confusion so people know if the activity they done has refreshed timers.
  8. I like to have a spare back-up schooner for my current schooner. I don't actually have a back-up one yet as i'm building a Brig, will probably use my schooner as a back-up in case I lose my brig. There's no need for me to use the back-up unless I lose my main ship. So are you saying in those cases if I don't use the back-up I don't need it? Think about that.
  9. It's possible that the issue is the timer may only be 14 days rather than the believed 21 days? @Dollie @Jatheish Could you guys get confirmation on the decay timer for ships? I've seen a few now report their ship disappeared after not boarding them for 14 days instead of 3 weeks.
  10. It's been confirmed before, can't remember where exactly, but confirmed by the devs that you just need to board the ships. Rendering is not enough.
  11. That's not claiming, and clearly not relevant to what was being discussed about claiming lawless. Nice try.
  12. So you think you can claim lawless islands now? What is false advertising?
  13. You can't claim lawless islands. They only have island points because of the silo thing. It says so in the patch notes.
  14. This is a good place to start: https://wiki.nitrado.net/en/Admin_Commands_for_Atlas No need to use the word 'cheat' in front of commands when in single player, just type the command itself.
  15. When you say single player game, do you mean "actual" single player mode, or just playing solo on official servers? If it is actual single player mode then devs can't restore stuff for you, you can restore it yourself via backups, or spawn stuff back in and rebuild the ship.
  16. Are you sure? I believe it works on settled, unsettled, and lawless islands?
  17. Yeah i'm starting to do this. Either I travel along grid lines as you are unlikely to find anything spawning in corners of grids, or if i'm not at the end i'll cross the grid at an angle as you say you won't go head on into danger and can either cross back again or skip past them as you already have an angle advantage.
  18. They can't commit to no more wipes until the game is official launched out of EA. So you'll be waiting until 2020 or 2021.
  19. Why would it suddenly stop working? Afaik the FoY is activated based on age, so when you hit 90 for the 4th time it will still work to reset you to 20. Just won't give bonus stats. That's the whole point of the FoY, it's meant to be an alternative to the human breeding mechanic. So why would they make it only work 3 times?
  20. I always keep it off my hotbar until I'm near the area, then put it on my hotbar to see exactly where it is. Often if it is in an area full of trees, i'll remove it from my hotbar, clear the trees and any other threats, then get in position and add it back to my hotbar. Sometimes I misjudge. Yesterday I did exactly this, cleared the trees, then thought I was a little in front of the spot, I add the map to my hotbar and suddenly find I was right on the spot and was surrounded lol. But so far not come across any maps in bases. If I did then i'd not activate it as that's unfair.
  21. Hence why I added the small text in the brackets which would help in those instances, at least for non meat eaters.
  22. This is why on PvE structures need increased timers such as 14 days, and tames need increased timers from 8 days to match, i.e. 14 days. It's silly that timers are different for different things: Tames - 8 days Structures - 10 days Ships - 21 days It doesn't make sense why tames are 8 days but structures 10. @Dollie @Jatheish I know i've said this plenty of times before, but we really need timers increased on PvE. 10 days is too short for holidays or unexpected absences. (Also if Silo could feed tames with berries too that would be amazing, hehehe hint hint )
  23. Not to mention a ridden tame has a much faster attack speed than an unridden tame, and also has a brain (i.e. the player) to be able to maneuver when needed.
  24. A man brings his own tools to a job! How will he ever learn if I give him everything on a tin plate? (Scrooge wouldn't use a silver plate)
