  1. @Jatheish @Dollie Is there any update on this? I'm curious to understand your thoughts on how giving PvE players a nuke to wipe entire islands of months of innocent active players structures is considered PvE?
  2. Oh my god the arrogance is through the roof. I once though negatively of @Realist but man you are the worst i've seen in the these games. You expect tenants to do what exactly in 48 hours? You realise that most of us don't have the luxury to play 16 hours a day 6 days a week. Most of us have full time jobs, and things called lives. PvE is designed for casual players.... but nice to see you think of yourself as much more than a casual player that is hiding out in PvE because you know how bad you are at this game. I mean the number of times i've told you that taxes on PvE DO tax gold yet you still fail to accept this just goes to show the fact that as you spend 57% of your life playing this game it is all going to waste.
  3. You still don't realise that claimed island taxes DO tax gold?????? How many times do people have to tell you this? It is only additive for resources NOT gold. Man you play 16 hours a day 6 days a week and you hardly know anything about this game.
  4. The issue here is the NUKE is designed to wipe "active" spam. Any inactive spam is automatically wiped after 10 days because the owners have gone inactive. So having a "cookie jar" wouldn't really work because anyone active can pay into it to keep their spam safe. As for the 48 hours, that is not an issue, I mean if a new landowner can't wipe the island for 48 hours after taking it then that is no different from waiting 10 days after taking it, because the end result is still a nuke going off.
  5. Yeah we all know that structure spam is a problem and it needs tackling. But giving landowners a nuke that will obliterate an entire island, which may I point out the majority will be structures of innocent active players is ludicrous to put it lightly. People say it will be used as a last resort by those that intend on not abusing it, well that's fine to say, however, the structure spam will continue to grow, which means people will eventually be forced into the last resort because there is NO other option. If the Devs had told us 4 months ago that land owners will be able to nuke entire islands then I wouldn't have bothered settling on an unclaimed island, I would have stuck with Lawless. It seems the Devs have no interest in encouraging players to settle on islands, even though in their stream they were very encouraging of the mechanic. All they have done since is make claimed islands just as beneficial as lawless and have now made lawless much more beneficial. It's funny because I told Dollie that there is no incentive for people to move from Lawless to claimed islands, even with the tax becoming additive it still didn't really add any incentive. Now they make it a million times worse. I just can't make head nor tail of it.
  6. This makes me laugh. In the recent Captain's Log they said: Then they pretty much ended it with...... "to show our gratitude for your support we are giving PvE players nukes to wipe out islands.
  7. Welcome to the club where PvE players despise this new PvP mechanic. You mentioned about Steam reviews, well this makes me laugh. In the recent Captain's log they said: Then they pretty much ended it with...... "to show our gratitude for your support we are giving PvE players nukes to wipe out islands.
  8. So you are claiming that all landowners are talkative and share their plans. If they decide to quit the game you expect them all to tell everyone on the island when it is easy for them to just remove the flag and go. People do talk on my island, I also talk, although most of the chatter is non-English so I understand none of that. But why do you assume when landlords quit that there would always be communication regarding the subject? if the landowner doesn't say a word about leaving, then the tenants won't have any notice of the fact. For your information, I, like many others that started immediately after wipe, built on unclaimed land plenty of time before it was claimed by others. I have since had 2 owners of my island. So that rules out your "u really think we would let someone build a huge base on our land without knowing them a little bit ingame? Or would you build up your Disney castle on someones island without asking?" Btw nice childish dig with the "disney castle". You give off the type of attitude that someone that nukes a PvE island would have.
  9. Lets look at the other ways that you clearly ignored because all you focused on was "inactive" landlords. 1) Landlord decides to quit the game or they no longer want to own land, they remove their claim flag, island becomes claimable. Any lucky person on the grid around that time jumps to claim it. 48 hours later they can wipe everyone off the island.... again this a player action which is PvP. 2) Landlord decides to quit the game or they no longer want to own land, they privately sell the island to someone else. They remove the flag, the buyer immediately places their flag. 48 hours later they wipe the island. Both of those include active players.
  10. Not certain but i suspect it is on the action wheel of the flag when you claim the island, or 48 hours after you claimed the island. The option will only be available for 24 hours.
  11. I'm semi-confident something will be done, because there's been quite an outcry over it, at least on the forums, if that means anything. But i'm aware it was the weekend, so hopefully we'll see something said in the next few days, whether it's too late or not is yet to be seen. But as I say i'm semi-confident something will change.
  12. No-one has yet come forward with a legitimate case that states how a player wiping an entire island of other players structures is considered PvE. A player action that results in wiping bases of other players is PvP pure and simple.
  13. Considering we are discussing the new PvE NUKE mechanic, which is pretty much all in this very topic we are posting in, please state who in this topic does not play Atlas, besides the obvious @Realist. I know you've got me on ignore list so you won't see me post this without your curiosity getting the better of you, but everyone else will be able to see this and they'll either see you ignore it which shows you have no genuine answer, or you make up random shit. So please humour us and tell us who in this topic discussing a very important PvE mechanic does not play Atlas?
  14. To help us understand this further, please explain your current situation in PvE. Where do you live, are you owner, tenant, neither. What affect would people razing islands have on you personally. Please explain more so we can see your situation.
  15. The majority (which he made up in his head) have not been seen in PvE regarding supporters, there's a simple explanation for that.... people don't support it. The majority that do support it are playing PvP so that majority has no say in PvE. You are right, Martyn is the minority in PvE supporters. You know why he supports it? Because he's a landowner and unfortunately one of the few landowners that is arrogant enough to think he is the only one that has rights on his island and that he can wipe anyone he wants in a PvE environment..... you know why? BECAUSE NO-ONE CAN FIGHT BACK AND WIPE HIM. He also plays 16 hours a day 6 days a week because he is unemployed. He thinks of that as the base line for everyone else, and if you don't play Atlas every day you have no right in commenting on Atlas. But hopefully once the weekend is over we'll see what the Devs have to say regarding all of our comments and hopefully they'll realise the majority of PvE players, which as you say are settlers, are not happy at all with this. If they listen to the minority, which is basically Martyn, then that says a lot about their decision making. Anyone looking at the feedback from this recent announcement, in regards to PvE only, will clearly see that there is little to no support for it.
  16. When you say 10 days vacation, when was the last time you actually stepped foot on all the ships? Was it 10 days ago, or was it longer than that? This is stepping on them, not just rendering them in.
  17. There's a lot of people with a lot of gold in PvE just waiting to be wasted on stuff. Anyone can be almost certain that there are people in this community that WILL spend 25k to grief people. They won't need to grind it out as they already have it. And stop with the "people who don't play". I play the game, pretty much 99% of the people in this thread play. Your arrogance over the fact you play 16 hours a day 6 days a week while the rest of us have full time employment and can't play 6 days in a row is disgusting.
  18. How anyone is claiming this new nuke option is not PvP is beyond me. Island owner (Player) presses big red button..... all structures of other Players are demolished, tames at risk of being killed, everything that was sitting on foundations destroyed and gone. How did that happen? PLAYER committed and act to demolish everything other PLAYERS have done. How anyone can claim that is NOT PvP is ludicrous. People also saying you have 48 hours to pack up and move... are you seriously deluded? A) There is no 48hr notification beyond the fact that a new owner has taken the island. B) There is no certainty whether the new owner will or will not nuke the island after 48 hours. C) Anyone destroying their stuff to move would be foolish if the new owner doesn't use the nuke. D) The devs assured us before that after the initial 24 hours of placing structures that land owners will not be able to demolish structures.... now they give them a NUKE. Let's put it this way.... Thursday evening after a hard day at work I come home and i'm playing Atlas. Knowing that i'm going to be away for the weekend Friday evening to Sunday evening, I make sure i've got food and gold etc for tames and NPCs before logging off Thursday night. Friday AM - new owner takes island. Friday - work all day, go away in the evening. Saturday - Away. Sunday - Away Sunday PM - return home, log on to Atlas to find base NUKED and tames half dead. How is that at all acceptable on PvE when a Player carries out the action of nuking an island in a PvE environment? How many times do we have to explain to people how this is not acceptable in PvE. All we have here in this topic is some dude that plays PvE 16 hours a day, 6 days a week and uses that play time as the 'base level' for how others should play or they don't have a right to comment.
  19. I thought so, but when i'm helpful like telling you in your treasure map thread that although it is 2x weekend it is NOT 2x gold weekend you'll miss all the useful stuff.
  20. PvE is not player vs player. Player wiping player is PvP. But keep on ignoring me. Like your paranoia over things that people can't do? Like when they allowed people to base on other people's ships and you worried yourself that people could use your beds to fast travel to your ship. We aren't paranoid here, we know what players will do, it is only a matter of time.
  21. I've told him enough times that it doesn't belong in PvE because it is one player wiping other players which clearly is a PvP mechanic. But the dude doesn't like me so he ignores all my posts and never responds to me. I've asked him before to explain how it is a PvE mechanic when players are wiping players, he ignores it because he has no answer. Unless you play Atlas every day like him you have no right to an opinion.
  22. A ridiculous stance is giving PvE players a nuke. Can you explain how allowing a player, yourself for example, the ability to wipe all structures from other players on an island is considered PvE? Because to me that is a player wiping other players, which is player vs player. I understand that one player owns the island and they have more rights than tenants, but they should not be able to wipe entire islands in PvE. Unless you can clearly demonstrate how players wiping other players in PvE is considered PvE then this whole new ability should not be allowed at all.
