  1. PTR running for a week is probably too short, but it depends on what they are looking for out of the PTR. It is likely to be anything critical that would cause problems after the wipe so they'd rather try and squash it before then. Anything else can probably be handled on the live servers after the wipe. Extending the PTR would be a huge mistake as the time between announcing the wipe and now has been long enough and making it longer is going to do more harm than good. I myself am itching to get back into playing, even trying out the PTR I can't wait.
  2. As i've said before, he's a two-faced hypocritical troll, and what he just posted provides further proof to that. He trolled many people on Twitter that play Atlas saying that the players are pathetic and worthless, yet here he is saying people waiting until the wipe are pathetic but he's waiting god knows how long for a game to come to Xbox that he trolls everyone else over. Absolutely two-faced hypocritcal troll.
  3. You understand me wrong, I don't mean don't take the time off to play the game, I mean don't take time off based on a wobbly timeframe given by the devs. If the devs said the wipe was going to happen on 20th March there's no guarantee it will, you might take a week off, but before the 20th March it gets delayed a week, resulting in possibly you not being able to cancel or rearrange your leave. It has happened to many many players before, and the devs themselves have told people they shouldn't take leave based on the ETA dates. Completely up to you what you do, but if GS came here now and said official wipe is on 27th March, a week after PTR, and you book leave and then wipe gets pushed back a week, and you end up having nothing to do for a week, then you'd have to accept that and take full responsibility. So, just be cautious of any date given to you.
  4. I would strongly recommend you do not take vacation for the game, in fact the developers themselves would never recommend taking vacation for the game.
  5. I'd rather have people repeatedly raising their concerns, dislikes and unhappiness with the game than have people telling others to shut up.
  6. This is my understanding of the current PvE plans. @Pirate Hawkins The 12+ hour window starts counting at placement of structure. So if a settlement owner claims the land 11hr 45mins after you've placed structures then they should be vulnerable for only 15 minutes. As for taking over a settlements flag, that comes down to a settlement owner becoming inactive. All structures will have an upkeep cost, and there is a seperate upkeep structure different from the taxation bank. So the settlement owner has to pay for upkeep of settlement as well as their own structures. A settlement owner goes inactive forever, their structure upkeep will deplete and then their structures will go poof, the taxation bank along with it. What is not known at this stage is how long it takes for structure upkeep to deplete.
  7. I've experienced it all too since day 1, but none of that guarantees that settlements won't be included in PvE, none of it guarantees that what has changed will change again. It is likely that very little, if anything will change before next weeks PTR. What then comes out of the PTR is anyone's guess.
  8. Now you are making no sense, and just coming across as foolish.
  9. Wrong, you might want to read the last couple of Captain's Logs. PvE will have settlements. Settlement owners will be able to demolish structures within a 12+ hour window, but after that they can't touch them.
  10. You have to understand the numbers are really low right now because a lot of people have stopped playing until the wipe. The numbers will go back up after the wipe, but, how far up they will go is anyone's guess.
  11. That makes no sense whatsoever. Try rephrasing it please. You act as if it's real life? You bought this game to play the game right? Well taxes is part of the gameplay, so you received exactly what you paid for, to play a game. Also just because someone claimed land makes them an "insert inappropriate word"? I hope you never manage to claim land because then you'll look in the mirror and call yourself that "insert inappropriate word". Like me? You know nothing about me. I work for a living, have been for the past 20+ years. But what does that have to do with what was being discussed about people incorrectly using the term "slave"? Also, I have already stated that I have no interest in claiming land, I'd rather settle on someone elses land. But of course you don't pay attention to what is actually be discussed, you jump in half-assed and spout a load of unrelated garbage.
  12. Definition of disingenuous: not candid or sincere, typically by pretending that one knows less about something than one really does. People posting these player figures to claim how dead or failing the game is in an attempt to make it look like numbers are really low for reasons they are not. Most people know why they are low and expected them to be low, whereas new people wouldn't necessarily know the reason. But I can see you are trolling now by repeatedly claiming I don't like the numbers.
  13. Our discussion was regarding farming resources on the land, not people building.
  14. What is stopping a settlement owner from wiping a player on their land? The other end of the 12+ hour window, that's what. Also, tell me this, how would a settlement owner, that has multiple people on their land, know whether someone was farming on the land or not? They won't know what things specific people are doing. But keep on sticking the word slave on everything, maybe one day you'll understand what the word actually means.
  15. I neither like them nor dislike them, that's because I understand why they are low. They are expected to be low. Why on earth would anyone that expects the numbers to be as they are dislike them? There is no point in anyone commenting on how low the numbers are right now because people know why they are low. You really are coming up with some crap aren't ya.
  16. There's also nothing stopping anyone from going to lawless to farm and taking the resources back to their base, meaning the landlord gets no taxes. But hey lets just spam everything with the word slave as if it means something.
  17. Actually it is disingenuous. I never said anything about not liking the numbers, but the fact that you show those numbers as being the true playerbase is an attempt to pretend that there is not a good reason for them so when people see it they will think that is a true representation of the playerbase. So yes, it does make them disingenuous.
  18. It's because everyone expects there to be hardly anyone playing. You are using those stats as if that is the playerbase, when we all know that many have stopped playing until AFTER the wipe. You showing those stats ARE meaningless in the current situation.
  19. Only if you can afford to logon every 4 days before everything disappears, which mostly is fine, but if solo and on holiday then nope, Lawless is not the best place. But I do think lawless will be pretty busy.
  20. Landowners in PvE can only demolish in the 12 hour window from when a structure is placed. That 12 hour window may be extended, but after the window the landowner can do nothing to the structures. People need to understand this instead of obsessing over something that is not true. Yes, there can be a lot of toxic players, but toxic players like to spend time griefing people, which means they would more likely be focused on that than spending the time to level up, unlock the taxation bank, get to a source of gems which may not be on the island they are on, then make the taxation bank then use it to claim an island. You seem obsessed with the notion that people will be able to spawn on an island and instantly claim it the moment the fresh servers come up. Also calling people toxic nolife nerd kids.... doesn't sound like you are far off from being a toxic player yourself. It can't be demolished at any time. Why are you obsessed with this when it is not true? Do yourself a favour, take a deep breath, count to 5, then read the last 2 Captain's logs properly and fully understand what the changes are.
  21. No you are not. A slave means you are the legal property of another owner.... are you in Atlas? NO. Also means you have to obey their instructions..... do you have to in Atlas? NO. Also means working hard, little breaks, scraps of food, and usually not owning your own property..... is that the same in Atlas? NO. So no, you are not a slave. You just use the word because you don't know how to describe something you don't like.
  22. Thrall doesn't work either. Are you going to be forced to do what you are told by the settlement owner? No you are not, they can't force you to do anything. You don't even have to farm from their island and they can't do anything about it. All they can do is demolish structures in a certain timeframe. So no you aren't a thrall either. Stop trying to come up with terms that don't fit the bill.
  23. This was in the Captain's Log before last. - Following the wipe and the potential for freeports to be overloaded, we’ll be temporarily enabling setting any ATLAS server as your homeserver. Additionally, we’ll most likely create a respawn on current server option too.
