  1. i would like a sextant type buff that shows other players on the map too. maybe a skill in the pirate tree? would give more incentive to sail during storms to "stay dark" and sneak past hunters. lots of potential for really cool mechanics. we just need the winds of fate to favour sailing mechanics instead of space squid and balloon animals!
  2. you make some good points. my thoughts. 1. pve literally can stop at any island and chill. even most powerstone islands you can find a quiet beach to (relatively) safely anchor. 2. pvp. it was my impression that the fight and struggle to get to a powerstone on pvp was supposed to be this epic endgame battle for power. 3. pve/pvp you can load a friends ship up with your favorite gear. anybody can then sail everybodies gear to the powerstone and then you can fast travel to the ship at will. 4. i get the feeling people either dont know about the bed fast travel system or they just are not smart enough to figure out how to utilize it? i feel like im missing something...fast travel literally is already in the game, yet people keep crying for it?!!
  3. darth i agree with you but, i also think one pvp zone in pve would be fun. a meeting place for friendly pvp. edit* my unpopular opinion - get rid of the silly space kraken and make h8 a dead zone for pvp.
  4. @op maybe try the newest call of duty? lots of us enjoy sailing in a sailing game. thanks. bye.
  5. the last timeframe response i saw was - spring for any new content and next fall / winter for any new ships. remember the original dev team blew it big time with this gem. changing key personnel during alpha stages probably takes a lot of time to sort out and get headed in a good direction. im holding out hope for the new team leader. the former chuckleheads left them a big mess to clean up.
  6. i did it solo first time and lost a boat to fire. so , when friends wanted to go i convinced them that the very best of methods was to park off shore and launch them inland via shipboard catapult.... face hurt from laughing so hard.
  7. bring yer best pair of brown pants! *if doing with friends you might want multiple / extra beds to respawn. good luck!
  8. i appreciate your input. i believe that was the pre xbox timeline, yes? would be nice to see a semi-official response. "on track", "its close", "hahaha maybe?" something along those lines at the least.
  9. super excited to see where the new lead takes this game. i saw the rough timeline posted a while back. are there any changes to that after xbox release? should i be getting excited for winter update? spring? next fall? soon*tm ? hehe patiently requesting table scraps please
  10. atl, if it is an extreme amount i would check again to make sure you are not "parked" on a rock. i have also returned to a tamed bull chasing a vulture that was destroying a friends galleon so weird stuff like that can happen. *edit the friendly tame was wrecking planks while chasing the wild vulture
  11. i havnt played in a while but, ships used to decay over time while anchored. lets say for ex. every component of a ship would take 100 damage over a 24h period while anchored. your crew would maintain and repair the ship while you were offline. consuming resources. cheers
  12. push more buttons harder! haha not sure. cant help, sorry. glad you are having fun sailing. they really did an amazing job with the water. dont let all the barbie dreamhouse, my little pony farmers fool you. this is an amazing sailing game. it just needs more wench love and less fury costume dress up goat lover land lubber attention.
  13. if they add one more damn balloon animal i might sharpen my axe and take a long drive....where is the main office located again? it almost Halloween haha
  14. a ballista off the side of the ship helps too. shoot the sharks then jump in and recruit.
  15. @elephants if between the legs sneak feeding is not working then you can charge right at its face spamming feed and then quickly double tap dodge back out of its range. will admit it is kinda fun but, utterly crap mechanic and the hit boxes for feeding are too small or completely broken on several tames.
  16. fortunately, having a my little pony ranch has little to no value in a pirate sailing game. forget taming and enjoy the little bit of adventure in the game.
  17. they appear to follow the treasure map ratings. I believe it is difficulty scale of 10, so 7.4 is very difficult. might want to find another island
  18. haha friends and I never played ark so it was a big surprise! next day we had to build a "coat room" for everybody to log off in. easy fix but, still annoying. how is your discovery grind going?
  19. @Realist if you plan to live nomadic you may want to check the offline ship bug. if a friend logs off on your ship and you change grids it used to leave them behind so they would log into the middle of the ocean at previous gridline.
  20. Dollie working until the job is done. World needs more people like you. cheers!
  21. a few humble opinions. if just going for discovery points at first. 1. u want a schooner. its big enough to hold a couple cows and all the basic crafting stations. also, it only requires a small shipyard (brigs require large shipyard). you can drop a small shipyard, build a schooner and be sailing in just a few hours hand harvesting only. 2. put all points into fortitude. the rest wont matter for just getting discovery points. 3. get grappling hooks and learn to pick up flotsam as you go between islands. these drop plenty of food for you and a friend. no need for farming or cooking. flotsam also drop enough gold to sustain a couple npc crew if you dont want to manually use sails. 4. medicine is a pain in the butt and medkits have a spoil timer. you will learn quickly that death is faster and more efficient than trying to heal. 5. for discovery purposes tames are completely worthless. if you want to put a few points to get chickens and cows for fun that is cool but, the rest of the tree is completely worthless for sailing and discovery points. (stupid godang clowny balloon animals). 6. get a sextant asap. it is game changing. 7. have fun and pace yourself. there are LOTS of islands and some have multiple discovery points. for a new player grinding discovery points a few hours each day i would estimate 2-4 weeks to get them all. again. these are my opinions for the purpose of grinding discovery points only. cheers
  22. they could spawn in freeports and on golden age islands where people cant build. i still think lawless grids should be "lawless" with no player building. would open up lots of room for npc factions.
  23. many EA games on steam have mtx. Not sure about console. does ark have mtx? if so, what are they? i cant imagine paying 20 bucks for a fancy pirate hat that will just glitch / get stolen / rot after glitching off boat and drowning...
  24. heya boomer, i read your previous posts and am disagreeing with them. I really hope you are right and I am wrong. do you really think the 1500 people left playing on pc will generate enough mtx money to keep the server lights on? not to mention enough cash to justify creating new content... saying you doubt xboners are aware of the bad pc alpha release makes it seem like even more of a cash grab to me. to make things worse - if they do sell a bunch of xbone copies and those folks log in to get curb stomped by level 100 mythic gally ...well, how many of those people do you really expect to stick around and purchase mtx? again. i sincerely hope that i am wrong.
  25. please dont hate me. sorry mateys. they already have most of the pc money. smart move is to do whatever they can to sell the most xbone copies (wipe). hopefully after the xbone holiday money at least a few wonderful artists will stick around to complete this amazing project. fingers crossboned.
