Patch started out good for me. The tile I logged out in was up quick and I could get in before my friends, my boat did not sink like some other people, I was in GA and could experience the new nearly double drop rates and the server just reset so GA was nice and juicy with sotds! Things were looking great for me!700 cannon balls later depression is setting in. The nearly double bp rates from all sources did not effect sotds. The reduced crafts for bps is insane. I got a nice 166% large plank with 2 crafts. Now it is my bed time but I am trapped in this tile of depressing bp drops because the grids around me are not up yet. It is my bed time and I have my sleepy time pjs on yet I can not escape this hell. Why has this happened to me?

you mean compared to the fun game of one running away from the other... there is always one that will run... even if it means he drops all cargo to get speed up... You want fun naval combat? Reduce speed to realistic values (but muh travel time?). Remove all weapon free placement - allow only gunports (but muh fantasy Disney ship design?). Remove suicide pirates - they do it for the money, not the promise of an afterlife (but muh barrel bombers?). And maybe, just maybe make ships not so easy sinkable from above water line holes in the ship - the cannons are there to kill/wound the enemy crew into submission, not outright sink them (which is hard with cannons)... fire kills such ships fast (powder meets spark), not so hole where only air gets in...

2/10/21 8PM PST- We are aware of some server issues with the latest update and are actively working on a fix. We appreciate your patience as we troubleshoot this incident. 2/11/21 1AM PST - The fix for the servers has been released and after a couple hours of careful monitoring we have determined the servers are operating normally. Thank you again for your patience and understanding. Ahoy Pathfinders! A new ship will be sailing into harbor with the new patch. The “Majestic Kraken” will be available from the ship salesman, it's a streamlined vessel that not only looks deadly but packs quite the punch if she gets her tentacles on you. That's because she's touting 24 cannons that provide 50% more damage. The Kraken will be similar to the previous Ramming Galley, with custom ship compartment load outs and repairable via the Patch Kit. So gather up your doubloons and release the… you know the rest. In other highlights of the patch, along with a few more bug fixes, we've also taken another pass at the glider suit so you can sail the skies, for a reasonable amount of time. You get a blueprint, you get a blueprint, you get a blueprint... You guessed it, blueprint drops will be doubling and counts required are going down. So, go get your craft on. Lastly, accordion music will wake creatures up faster after being tranquilized. Lederhosen and polka dancing are not required, but it couldn't hurt. Community Surveys Last patch, we asked our fellow pathfinders to take part in a community survey that would help the Atlas team gain better insight on the wants and needs of our community. Needless to say, we were overwhelmed by your participation and feedback and will be taking a lot of it into consideration. We would like to genuinely thank all who participated. To continue this series of engagement, we will have another community survey in the near future, this one will address recent concerns around ship construction and customization. We look forward to hearing more of your input and appreciate your support. Released Patch Notes v522.3 New Ship: The Majestic Kraken The Ship Salesman's inventory is expanding! So, in addition to all the other BS you just pulled without telling anyone (Forcing the new settlement system without putting it in the patch notes? Great.) I see you're still plowing right ahead with the new ship plan despite your entire customer base begging you not to. You are terrible at what you do.

As of todays patch the Devs and their infinite wisdom have stopped same item trading.... So heres how to get around it and still hoard all your gold. So before you would do wood for same type wood 1.0 and just profit from the gold and bonus items. so now you'll just round robin wood for thatch 1.0 thatch for stone 1.0 stone for metal 1.0 etc etc... you get the idea and it will net you the same resources and gold and you didn't spend hours coding it into the game *yawn* I've been your friendly Black Pig see you on the flipside (EU-PVP)

I think that you may be going about this the wrong way. If you are wanting monetary compensation from GS for intellectual work, I truly believe you should contact the studio directly and apply for a job or solicitate your consultation services. I could be wrong, but I do not think that there is a precedent for hiring an unverifiable person from a forum off of a promise of an idea. I believe you said you had experience in the game creation industry, this will help greatly. If you believe you have a multi million dollar "Idea" that would work for any game. Well then my friend, you should take your industry experience and your idea and go make a game and get that paper. Don't even let a terrible studio like GS get a chance to fuck it up. If you believe in this game and want to improve this game with your ideas, then you should get on the public game forums and discuss them in detail. Get enough positive feedback and it will most likely get implemented in some way shape or form. However you will be the only person that knows it was your idea. Maybe some of us will know as well. Keep in mind that GS hasn't released any games yet. They likely have not turned any profit. Their team is small, and greatly lacking in talent when compared to almost any other game studio out there. What they DO have is a lot of ideas that sound really cool. What they DONT have is any proof that they can carry these idea through to fruition. I will give you my personal view on this. Ideas in and of them self are not worth anything. Even after being shared with a group and refined into a better idea, it is still not worth anything. Money is only made when an idea is acted upon and a product is produced and sold successfully. So let me ask you. Do you really have an idea that these guys can do anything with? They have yet to implement their own ideas in a profitable way.

The trouble is the pre fab ships aren't so far more realistic Pyrate ships as promised, one is definitely based on a greek trireme and the other is a disney ride style Squid ship. So this makes me a bit pessimistic for the future of Atlas ship building and it's announced move towards realism.

I do understand that it's fun to do custom ship building, to set your design etc, but current ship building system leads to this: I mean it also some king of fun, but... as for me, totally wrong, and ruin all sailing age romance. Most of all - current ship system made the way, that we just need 3 ships. - Small and fast one - Schooner. - Battle ship - Brig. - Large carrier and fast one - Galley. All different purposes of ships made by our customs. Wanna more armor - add roofs, walls and ceilings armor as in picture above. Need more firepower - add some guns to deck and custom floors, etc. So we have like base (Schooner, Brig and Galley) and infinite amount of ship types - all your imagination came to. BUT!!! All of this: "I make ship for my playstyle" will anyway lead to only meta. And if you wanna survive, you'll anyway need to build a meta design. Usually it stupid looking. New ship system with modules leads us to more real like ships. I mean from the picture above to these: The only thing DEVs made wrong with Ramming Galley is made it all from "blocks". What they should do is: a) - Keep current frame, planks/gunports, decks (and current way to paint all). b) - Instead of separate sails - introduce "rigging". One piece of equipment, contain all masts, cables, ropes, ladders, flags, AND SAIL SPOTS were we then put sails of our choice (square or triangles). No more weight sails. c) - Each deck should have square holes - those are spots for modules. The modules I see: - Cockpit - wide back part of ship with our room (bed for respawn, chest for gold, steering wheel on top of it) - Berth (for crew, the more we have, then more crew we can hire). - Cargo hold (for all our stuff. More we have - more cargo we can carry. All cargo holds connected together AND CONNECTED TO DINGHY. We can easily oneclick transfer cargo from ship to dinghy, which also have storage box). - Ammunition - just one requires. Storage box for all our firearms balls, bolts, etc. - Supply - just one requires. Small room with mess table, grille, food storage bags and water barrel. - Small and large cages for tames transfer. No more tames in decks and no more elephants in sloop (also no more tames loosing in waters). - Masterworks - just one requires. Small room contains smithy, mortar and pestle, and some kind of small forge. - Outside attachements. Maybe some pirate stuff, like armored room for valuables. Prison - for hostages, etc. I dunno. Just because each ship has limited size of deck - we can not put all... I mean, with large frigate we can, but smaller ship, requires us to think - what do we need. So all our customization will be within our choice. Wither we need fast cargo vessel (then we have just few berth for sails crew, and else in cargo holds), or war machine (then - alot of berths for gun crew, and gunports) etc.. d) - Add some beautification layer (like lanterns set, some figures set, head figure etc). And most important for DEVS. All those modules, rigging, beautifications might be in different styles. Like southern style. Nordic style. Etc. And DEVs can either sell addition styles as DLCs (I would buy all), or even put them to "lootboxes" and sell lootboxes. So more real income will come for game support. That Atlas I would gladly play. With NO shotguns ships. NO roof covered rhombus ships. NO six masts vessels. Yes to jib and mizzen sails. Yes to boardside battles. Definitely NO to this!

Ship building is my favourite part of the game. However I would swap some of the build ability for more realistic Pyrate ships and decent interior design. When I first played ,the one thing that put me off from pvp were the floating fortresses that looked nothing like Pyrate ships at all, More like wooden pyramids. I don't want to play like that. But I havent liked anything about the pre fab items so far, ship or buildings.

Sorry Ranger but you can't copyright ideas for a product you do not own. How do you think bethesda got all the free downloadable content? Also an idea in itself is very hard to prove authorship of. I have been doing design work for companies since I was 16, I am now in my 50's. and if I could get paid for every time one of my designs or ideas has been used or blatantly stolen I would be a millionaire by now.

I've been hearing you talk about your idea for a while, but I dont recall you ever explaining it. I read a lot of too long posts where people throw up thier ideas. Some are good and interesting, some are lame. Then you get the despicable factions people who would kill the sandbox style for thier own pirate theme park. The thing is you can't say you have an answer on a public forum, then never provide your feedback. This isn't a direct line to the devs, it's a public forum, for us to share ideas and concerns amongst each other and with the devs and cm's. You know they read and act, even if the pace is slower than we would prefer. We asked for barrels to be taken out of cannons. We got it. We asked for better farming parody. We got it. We said , whoa, too much glider nerf. They unnerfed it slightly. We've been complaining about performance and lack of ship selection for years now. They introduce new and more ships comming out that will improve performance and now there are assholes bitching about it, and saying they don't read and it will kill the game. All of these actions were and are, openly and heavily discussed on these very forums. I believe, because of the evidence listed above, that your best chance of having your idea implemented would be to detail it and advocate for it. Rather than hint at it and demur about it. I honestly look forward to reading it because i think you put more time and thought into this game than anyone else I know of.

@Ranger1k ofc there is a PvP meta. People like @Sykotech are assholes and don't actually know anything special or they would share it. Others hit on it though. Its barrels and shields. Barrels do OP dmg to anything. They were on cannons, that got taken out....again...but they were still used on gliders. So gliders got nerfed bc or barrels....go GS (idiots). Now you can still shoot them from a catapult from ship deck. So guess what....every other boat is a schooner with catapults and barrels. Its literally all I've seen in weeks now. It is the ship meta. Shield stun is broken still. You can get put into a stun lock by a high level player and there you shall remain. Its ofc a super easy fix by adding a delay between stuns, but the ever forward thinking devs have yet to address it. Nerfing gliders bc barrels are too strong was more important. The high level players will not be stopped by gunfire. Shield stun is the melee meta. Bear/Horse Cannon, for some reason I can't figure out, have more range than puckels. I can't tell you how many times I have watched these things assault my well puckled base and never take a shot. Or how many times I have taken out another base that was full of puckles and never get shot once. Its very annoying and makes you wonder why the NPC puckles even exist in the game. Only noobs get stopped by them. The Bear/Horse cannon has too much range, and even with a big cat tame its not easy to dislodge them. Cart cannons are the base assault meta. There is also cheating, although I don't consider that meta as MOST people seem to not be cheating. Only some people, and some people does not qualify as meta.

While I can't speak for everyone, I know when I asked for more ships I wanted more buildable ships. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there is some value and a niche for prebuilt ships. I also don't like that you can't use any of the add-ons, (i.e. the diving attachment), on these prebuilt ships, which puts them on par with the sloop and the raft when it comes to utility. I also don't like the lack of customization potential or the inability to build on them. It's a shame to finally get something on par with a frigate and we're pretty much stuck with how it comes out of the box. I'd also like to see more parts and options for existing ships. I still think charging gold for ships you build in your own shipyard is an asinine feature. I do like the mating changes, having to have them set on wander was a rather bizarre and inconvenient requirement. Even though I fully anticipate my list of suggested changes will be ignored as always, here they are regardless: 1) Remove gold charges for ships you build yourself. It makes no damn sense. 2) Make buildable versions of the prebuilt ships and more customization and allow addons. 3) Make more parts for buildable ships. The whole reason I started playing this game is because it allowed me to build my own ship, and you've done practically nothing to expand on it since the game went live. 4) Why can't we equip guns on our NPC crew? Can we please get this feature?
