Please remove the gold cost from shipyards. This change disproportionately impacts single players and small companies. It has added no value to the game. Please reconsider.

LOL I can't even imagine the thoughts of the current devteam. Why on earth does a pirate have to find so much gold to build ships and or even try to maintain an island without having a decent income? A real pirate stole himself a ship, went to the pub and roughed up some sailors to sail with him, looking for treasures/adventures/brothels to pillage. Oh and here's another thing, we get elephants and farmhouses to get wood for instance. Where are the sawmills/carpenters/ and so on? And thats just for wood. Imagine stonequarries or blacksmiths, maybe this is a plan for more NPCs at cities or maybe to hire them instead of all these luckyshot BPs. Buy/conquer or enslave one, thats more of a reward, preferrable with some (up to) mythical skills. This game let's you struggle to build a base or even get "lucky" to get to own an island without the above. Next to the thing it will be a pain in the arse to level up AND make some decent gold next season. My guess is the devs are getting really bored from these "seasons" and are planning on a looooooooooooooooooooooooong one this time. Each pirate needs to start off at his own little island, with enough mats to make (at least) a decent ship. Then partner up and BUY theirselves an island, so their "starters one" can go POOF and new players can jump on. The current claimingsystem is even worse then the first one with the pieces of island. But at least, that gave way more interaction due to the diversity of companies on 1 island. This game is going to be WAY more different then it was originally sold to the majority of us. And that, even for an early acces game, SUCKS. P.S. I'm still available to do some testing, these bugpatches are getting pretty annoying.

Why is trading limited to just resources? How about ship parts for guns or ammo for gold etc?

Oh dear, proving what many of us already knew. I just wish some top devs had this game under their control instead of amateurs, we would see a much better game than we've got. Not played it in a couple of months and don't intend to but it's so sad to see it going downhill when it could be a very good pirate game. They've never listened to the community to gain any direction on how the game should be, it's not them playing it it's us the community, our voices should matter in the development. Frustrating as I want this game to be a success but it will never be that even at full launch not that I think it will get to that stage. I don't this this game can survive under the current devs which is unfortunate,

The issue is likely due to an update from GrapeShot that requires you to either update the Grid Map Editor and re-export your map, or add the following "TradeDB" section to the ServerOnly.ServerGrid.json file:

Well you got your wish, the dev's have spoken. https://www.playatlas.com/index.php?/atlas-news/news/captains-log-41-a-new-direction-and-trade-system-ramming-ship-tease-r326/ Although I'm not sure it was anything the playerbase (or what's left of it) wanted to hear.
