The Changes to Barrel bombs are going to badly unbalance the game, and probably lead to the complete wiping of multiple harbors/island/companies. Not sure of the why this was done, but i think its going to prove to be a bad. Please roll these changes back before half the game gets wiped and quits the season.

Shield bash spamming has wrecked melee combat and makes the game unplayable and unenjoyable. Easily fixed by increasing the use cool down or decreasing knock up, or both. Try do it next patch. Changing steam review to negative until fixed.

Map spawns are very broken, most islands have lost them due to player building. You want people on the sea more, right? Add treasure maps to yellow flotsam.

Ground PvP is broke as hell. I come from Life is Feudal where they had directional base combat and physics involved. The skill involved in actual fighting was rewarding. Didn't really matter what level you were, it was how good you are compared to your opponent (Along with ping. lol). This PvP system seems to be all about Dirty Tricks.

Barrel bombs, barrel bombs, barrel bombs... Good season lads, time to pack it in and go back to Tarkov.

Petty recriminations and childish insults are not what this forum was made for as far as I know, Also If someone wishes to moan about Atlas on the Atlas forum then that is their business. If you don't like people whining then don't read it. Also I have bought all this companies other games and not one of them has left ea yet, and Dark and Light is over three years old. And if the op is wasting his time moaning, then how much time are you wasting reading it? Yeh I agree if someone gets personal in a post then we have the right to answer back, So I do understand at least part of your retaliation. But trolling? No.

Barrel bombs have been an issue for as long as i can remember. The community has pleaded to you guys to nerf them, and even remove them from the game. Instead they have been buffed. Able to toss them from a glider. Shoot them out of cannons and catapults. Being able to shoot them from the back of a horse. PvP is dead in atlas now. Boat pvp is done, there is no longer any reason to have a BP'd ship anymore since a common ship with barrels will just 1 shot your planks. Land PvP has just devolved into who can drop more barrels. Tames get 1 shot. Players get 1 shot. Bases get ripped apart by naked's on gliders. Bottom line. The game is not fun anymore. LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY PLEASE! There will be no future for Atlas if these recent changes arent reverted quickly. Just completely remove barrels please. Let the players have some fun and actually engage in battles. One shotting someone with a barrel is not fun. Its not a battle. Its not PvP. It doesn't get the heart racing. There is no skill involved. It's not fun.

You're somewhat correct, most of the third party discussion takes place on Reddit. I'll take a swipe at it though. The new Barrel Bomb mechanics have achieved the following: 1. Made speed sail Schooners the only viable combat ship. 2. Made ship blueprints inconsequential. 3. ^ ...therefore nullifying the trade / transport economy, as it'd be foolish to use anything except common planks, etc. 4. Turned naval combat into a boring fps / game of chicken, when beforehand it was quite complex and exciting. 5. Sent more player ships to freeport. Kept fewer people on the ocean. This is my first season. These forums have always been negative which I feel is a shame, because Atlas is probably in my top 5 games in the past 20 years. Coming from 1600 hours on Ark, there are a lot of design choices to appreciate. BUT ... this patch was poorly thought out, poorly tested, and poorly implemented. (Warehouses included. Farmhouses are fine.)The smartest thing the devs could do is roll back, and then schedule a conference with the original development team.

I would recommend to you that you watch some PvP videos on YouTube. For example "decoyy Atlas" on EU PvP who is some kind of land combat pro gamer showing you all this little things and how they work. Stun is the win of every fight. -> shield can work 1v1(stamina) -> mace is insane -> bola needs skill or luck -> spear on open positions with lots of movement I don't like the land combat at all. It's up to others to give feedback if there should be some changes. At least with only a sword in your hands you are dead… always... If you get caught by bola you can get invulnerable during that time. Bug? no. Exploit? no. Skill? yes. You have to go in combat mode and spam evasion moves. Shield can NOT bash you. Mace can not stun you. Sword can not damage you.

Increase the shield bash cool down. Make warehouses the same as farm houses in the collection aspects and permissions. Revert the barrel bomb changes. Appreciate the new buildings. Also, I'd be cool with a roll back.

Instead of adjusting shield bash. They told everyone the season is over by jumping us with barrels bombs... Slow clap for the devs, always the ultimate trolls.

You misunderstand what they complain about. It is that the warehouse whose entire point for existing was indeed to eliminate the need for cargo beasts to run around and collect things from windmills does not collect wood/thatch that it needs for fuel - even though the windmills are self-fueling. This means that you need to go collect wood/thatch from your windmills to keep your warehouse running. Which defeats the entire purpose for the warehouse even existing, which was collecting from windmills. Like it or not the intent of these changes is to automate land functions (gathering/taming) so that people spend more time at sea, and the complaint is that the warehouses which are intended to do that very thing, are not actually going to accomplish that. You are much better off putting a ship storage box at your windmills, making your rounds and dropping what you do not need right then into the ship storage box. Yes you then have to go out to the windmill when you do need that stuff later, but that is not any different than having to go out to windmill to gather the thatch/wood to get the fuel to run the warehouse. It is actually a better solution because the ship storage boxes are bottomless, and you go to the windmills only when you need it and not when the warehouse needs it. It is so badly implemented it clearly was some junior programmer that had made the warehouses pull wood/thatch then QA said hey my windmills stopped for no fuel. Rather than think about it for a second and make a change to not pull all the fuel from the windmills and just leave some to keep the network runnning, the stoopid programmer just said I will fix it by not pulling fuel. It smacks of a serious lack of design forethought.

I have concerns as does every single other player. First off, there are loads of people that enjoy land pvp, so please don’t try to abolish that or make it more difficult. I realize your goal is to get more ships on the Sea and more ship battles and I think the farmhouse was a great help to that goal. A very nice addition that was reasonably balanced. But does it really need to be expanded on with warehouses? And then the barrel bomb issue which has concerned most, what reason is there to change the barrels in the first place? Let alone make them 10x more dangerous and applicable. I’ve heard several people say if they may quit after this update, and I myself have questioned my motive to keep playing. Balance is key, and the scales seem to be tipped against all players. Please take into consideration the opinions of those in this chat and the rest of the player base. The true loyal player base of this game really do love the game. We all want it to grow and expand, but worry that it may change for the worse. Never less we appreciate the time and effort that the team puts into the game. Just don’t forget about us.

The changes to barrel bomb make it the new shield bash for port attacks, it's unstoppable.

I swear to christ, they don't think when they make a change. Have the dev's even played the game?
  18. 1 point
Completely agree with this. Barrel bombs are now unstoppable.

you're right ! 1 tribe = 1 island, it should be like this. Big tribes keep 2 or 3 island for nothing. Since farmhouse update, it's completly useless to keep them, but they do. Small tribes are forced to play in Law Less, without being able to capitalize or reinforce to take an island, it is a viscious circle. That's make this game completly unplayable and infuriating.

Ahoy Pathfinders! We’re excited to bring you phase 2 of the new features we are currently rolling out! Expanding from the Farmhouse system we introduced last patch, Warehouses are a new structure type that players may build at the smithy. We are shifting Stone Farmhouses and Warehouses to a new skill - Advanced Automation, which can be found in the Construction Tree (requires Esotery of Building). Warehouses can be used in conjunction with Farmhouses to automatically collect and store the resources gathered from Farmhouses. Gone are the days of having to tediously move resources to and from for storage. Simply craft and place the Warehouse and it will begin gathering from all farmhouses within a 500m radius. Ever get confused by which of your storage boxes has which resources? With its large storing capacity, you can now easily access all your resources in one place! Any basic resource and alloy can be put into the warehouse, it will not store finished goods. We’ve also made a few tweaks to improve and balance Farmhouses. Again, these systems are still a work in progress and we are continuing to change and develop on Farmhouses and Warehouses as we examine gameplay and receive player feedback. The Warehouse update also includes an Explosive Barrels rework and a couple of minor balance changes on Puckles and Army of the Damned. For more details on Warehouses and other changes, see the full patch notes below: Released Patch Notes New Skill: Advanced Automation Added Advanced Automation to the Construction Tree Requires Esotery of Building Cost is 12 skill points New Warehouse and Stone Farmhouse added to this skill New Feature: Warehouse New structure type, Warehouse, may be built at the smithy Warehouse is a structure that automatically collects Resources from Farmhouses in range Will not collect Wood/Thatch, which is fuel for Farmhouses Gathers from Farmhouses within 500m Gather Rate is 5% of the Farmhouse inventory every 10 minutes Warehouses may not be placed closer than 2km to another Warehouse Warehouses must be placed within 30m of the shore Warehouse takes thatch or wood as fuel More than one Warehouse can hit the same farm Warehouses have 40 storage slots Warehouse stack size is 10,000 units Max Inventory Weight is 50,000 Warehouse health is 40,000 Warehouses are not taxed *For reference, 1 foundation is 2m Explosive Barrels Instant detonation option removed Setting the detonation timer is now a separate action from lighting the fuse Detonation timer can now be set and viewed in inventory The fuse is automatically lit when a carried barrel is placed!
