Hey depth. If you’re pointing a message towards me, make sure it is correct. When the game came out and it was complete shit, I defended it. When they implemented the new claim system people were still very critical but I defended it & when they did the SoTD change, everyone was bashing and I, again, defended it. After that last update, it went dark because they wanted to bring the game to xbox. And when they brought the game onto xbox, the two main people of Atlas, Jat and Dollie left this game to work on an ARK DLC without ANY notification towards the Atlas community. The project manager left aswel and to top it all off, the community manager did nothing but ignore the community for more than 7 months on end now. You think that it’s all rainbow and sunshines - but it definitely is not. If we look back to december 2018 and july 2020, what exactly has changed in a large perspective? Hmm, we’ve got different sizes of SoTD, another claiming system and trenches. Woohoo. That’s some progress in 19 months right there. Ever since the devs stopped working on this game (november-december) I’ve been critical. Am I allowed to? Yes. Does that make me an idiot? No. I have spent hundreds of hours in a game, reporting any bug there was to be found. Then finally we get something from the devs, and it is once again a huge disappointment for anyone that feels close to this game. The devs have lied to us, once again. A ‘new world’ would be here, which is nothing but a remake of a map which made it even harder for smaller pvp groups and even laggier for pve servers. All for the ‘sake of the game’ - aka their money pockets. Jeremy or Jat said in Nov 2019 that they would pull the plug if the Atlas project wouldn’t work out as planned. Having 2K players in population, abandoned by project managers and ignored by the community manager, it would surprise me if Jeremy or Jat would call that ‘as planned’. Don’t quote me as if I’m some new kid on the block, I’ve been here all along listening to the shit of the community because the devs were ‘failing this game’ - well, now that they’re actually are, I will damn sure open my mouth about it.

They screwed up a lot of resources. I was getting Tin from a Cobalt node and only flint from something else that said it had stone, flint, and metal. There are a lot of things that gave Fiber before but now give berries and still lots of mixups in the type of fruit or vegetable you get from things. I was getting coconut from a cactus. lol
  3. 2 points
i see, so it must be the biome specific fiber that comes from those purple flowers. same here, i tried to play yesterday i was lookig for a place to settle but i realised i cannot explore properly without a tame so i went tundra, cold killed me 4 times before i could even put down a campfire, tried tundra freeport, it was bearable got a ramshackle sailed to the island, got attacked by sotd, survived but lost my bed, i was still fleeing but close to shore, cold killed me again, no bed, back to square 1, closed the game and had fun playing league of legends instead xD

People who complain for long periods are usually impassioned to see the game survive. People who insult others and expect forced smiles while the playerbase shrivels are shooting themselves in the foot.

So... new season. New island. New base. New adventures. New (and Old) features that devs should deal with. Here is my feedback thread. We're on official PVE. The Shadowy Isle in i7 grig. 01 - Ceilings and Railings random disappears. First thing I do after log in - is running over my base and see if yet another pier parts disappeared. It happens randomly, all around our base, while we gone (on the mission or offline). Sometimes it's just a single railing, sometimes - big rows like on a picture below. 02 - Extended HUD info shows wrong resources on nodes. If I press "H" by default I can scan resources. Right now it shows totally wrong. We have "Iron" nodes that provide "chert", we've got "Iridium" nodes - provide "Iron", we have "Opal" showing that's "Crystall" and after gathering - it shows "Gem". It's all over at I7. 03 - Rains and Show in wrong temperatures. Pleas attach precipitation to the temperature. It's really weird to see it's raining when it's -15(c) or 5(f) and snowing while heatwave and +20(c) or 68(f). I mean I understand we're in fantasy world, but... it's weird anyway. 04 - (story-time) Crew member sunked while on the ship. Me and my crew-member were on our mission in the ocean. When we crossed the border, my crew-member was climbing rope ladder to the large speed sail's crownest. After we crossed, my crew-member was disappeared for me, and he found himself into the ocean. He was on water surface, but game showed he out of oxygen. After he died his corpse appeared all way down to the ocean bottom.

I would like a straight up answer, this beating around the bush is maddening. When I bought this game it clearly gave the options of pve OR pvp and now you want to make it pvp? Where is that right? You close the only pve server that isn't EU, leaving EU as pve only options, if this had been the option to start with then I would have asked for a refund within the two hours that steam offers it. EU servers as EVERYONE knows is overcrowded, why do you think they come to NA servers? I feel that I am being cheated, the new team have come in, wiped all of the hours I have put into my place then tells me that it is EU or pvp.........No, I will no longer be suggesting to buy this game, it was a good game while it ran but I am still feeling cheated out of the money I paid for it, a hidden lie is what it is and that is what I will be telling people and trust me, I am not alone in this.

EU PVP i10 NE island Many resources when you press H on them say one thing but when you harvest them you get a totally different resource. For example when pressing H: Sulphur - you actually get gems and crystal Silver - you get iron Tellurite- you get flint and stone This is a common occurrence across the entire island.
  8. 1 point
that explains why i was getting coppper form a tin node xD

Now that the summer sale is almost over and they've scammed a few more thousand people we won't hear from the Devs/Community Managers again until the next map change and Steam sale. Good luck with your problem though.

Still can't shoot a snake because of broken hitbox mechanics! Takes 20 shots to the head to get 1 hit. Taming a giraffe or elephant in a trap or along bumpy terrain is still terrible because of the positioning and rendering. Just make it so we can stick food up their ass already instead of trying to crawl underneath their armpit. Still get dropped in the sea when I'm offline on a ship that crosses a border. Do you all even care about fixing bugs or just trying to milk as much money using underhanded advertising tactics in conjunction with Steam sales?

I agree with @DannyUK, I’m seeing some real nice walls being built to close off areas on PVE. This of course is ridiculous because it causes problems that can’t be corrected and then people complain and file tickets and it’s why PVE under the current system is broken. The red headed step child of Atlas that’s an afterthought by the devs. The absolute best method that works for people who build like morons is wait them out. They will disappear from not logging on or wipe number 4.

Have your wife get kilt over and over whilst you shoot it and throw bolas. This is my preferred method.

You probably just should have listened to the others from the beginning then. You tried to call them out before and know he was calling you out now. You sound just like the others did back then when you tried to dismiss what they were saying. The only thing that has changed is that those people were smarter than you because they saw it coming a lot sooner than you did.

Haven't logged on since they wiped the NA server...so...much..grinding....flushed..... I've stuck through some shitshow mmorpgs over the years too...Games that could have made billions and been both revolutionary and insanely fun... The tech that goes into making these things jive...to let 100s or 1000s of players interact w eachother and the environment in realtime, via a multitude of scenarios, in a dynamic synthetic reality can be simply awe inspiring to a guy my age. Ive learned as a result to let some shit slide... However.... Basic mechanics so poorly mismanaged... Zero in game reimbursement after a wipe.... PR updates so out of touch w reality.... This game itself screams potential. A few tweaks, lil polish, some proper management and some clear decision making could launch it into the stratosphere. Seriously. No bs. However, the things going on atm are the exact opposite. Ill take a pass on beta testing for a charge... or being milked then brushed off or whatever the fugg is going on.. Going to spend money w the competition now... Gonna offer to fix ALL of it for a fee still but till we talk, buh bye...

i like the update! great work and exited what to come in the future:)!

still feelsbad though. - Head-Bobbing is unreal. yes, i turned off head-bob and melee-camera-animation, and yet, melee-weapons just take control of my crosshair. - Vitamins. Get rid of this bs, thats not how eating works in the first place, and shouldnt be a thing in games. - Weak-equipment. My stone-axe broke from 100 to 0 whilest fighting a bee ! let that sink in. - HUD. the HUD is attrocious, just like in ARK. but at least that was toggleable, to see how much stamina i have actually left. - Copy-pasted islands. yes, why ? cant you setup few more pieces of land ? honestly... so many exact copies of islands. not only is it confusing for new players, its just straight up lazy development... - finally, my char died of dehydration after few minuts of gameplay. wish i never bought this, because these Devs just dont seem to get a thing right..
  17. 1 point
the developer doesnt fix things in this game. they just release more "content", as in; cosmetics. mechanics, engine, stuff that matters to the gameplay, are just abbandoned. feels like they got this programmed by some fiver-ppl.

i think the systems are ok. its just the balances that are waaaay off. i would love to see some of these developers grocery bills. kill a 5 ton elephant? yeah, that is about 5 kilo of meat, which is about what a light snack is... i get thirsty and need a gatoraide walking from my cubicle to the bathroom so....if im running around an island i would obviously need 300 liters of water per minute. when Bob lowers the office thermostat 1 degree i get sooooo cold. i bet a 5 degree change people would freeze to DEATH!

This is a pain in the ass, especially when it comes to treasure maps. I haven't had a deep look into the map yet but back in the days you could easily have two twin islands on the same grid. It really was annoying to figure out which one contained the treasure. 100% agree. I think nobody enjoys/likes that system. They should either rework it or remove it completely.

Well when you had 4 clusters of 15x15 at 225 servers per cluster you had 900 servers for people. now you got rid of 1 full cluster which was 225 servers and melded pve together. But also, of those 3 remaining clusters you dropped the size to 11x11 effectively getting rid of 104 servers per cluster for a whopping total of 534 servers less than what you had. so when you look at it the combined total before was 900 but now the is only 363 so in reality you came pretty close to getting rid of 2/3 of the whole game. Even though it isn’t exact we will just call it getting rid of 60% of the game. not sure if you guys(the community) thought about it yet or just don’t care but regardless of bugs and other complaints people have these guys did literally just take away 60% of your game from you. After that we can talk about the new resource bugs and many others, but my main point was above. to the devs, I gotta hand it to you. You are bold. You will never hear me say you don’t take risks. edit: I have never rented a server so I have no clue on the cost. If someone else is able to figure that out I’ll include it in the post with a “courtesy of” to that person.

Sidenote the starving cats were so ridiculous i just spilt my coffee reminiscing... Lol... Not to mention i could place some on a wet rock and theyd catch more fish than a sponsored pro bass team lol... Jus sayin...
  22. 1 point
Yeah that always pissed me off. It’s like come on kitties I get you are loyal and don’t want to eat my fish but I need you alive and thieves instead of dead and loyal. Smh
  23. 1 point
clearly cutting 60% of an alpha game in production is the best way to add content! but they added cats that fish for you...that for some reason will not eat the fish they catch and starve to death.
  24. 1 point
The only reason for the update was to make it look shiny and new for another steam sale.

The irony in this post How many hours have you got in the game exactly? Because most of us here "complaining" have been here from day 1 People are entitled to post here, it's what a forum is for. I can assure you most of us are not children, far from it but I'm assuming you are? From your grammer. I notice you say you've been watching the forums but suddenly decide to create an account? Tells me everything I need to know.
  26. 1 point
if you are a pvp player why the hell do you even care about pve? you have a tunnel vision very characteristic of americans, are you one by chance?
  27. 1 point
It's nice to be able to log off in a freeport. as most people cannot play 12 hours straight when your on an expedition and need to log off Adding some sort of NPC that could store your ship for X amount of gold is an excellent idea and would free up all clutter. If animals are being left there full of stuff make it so they are claimable at Freeport after 24 hours then problem solved.
  28. 1 point
It isn't the resource rates that kill the game it's the fact you can literally do endgame stuff on day 1 like people collecting powerstones ffs and getting max level on day 1 it shouldn't even be remotely possible they should of wiped after stuff like that got addressed now by the end of the week I can guarantee that all bigger tribes will have full mythical ships etc and max lvl characters

Lol updates been out lil over a day and everyones crying. No wonder the player base is so toxic. You ppl literally cry iver EVERYTHING!!!! Spamming the forums with pointless and non sensible rage make zero sense. Ive literally watched the forums be raided by crying children for over a year. Yet you are STILL here so grow the hell up. You ALREADY know how the games going to progress. Post your dam bugs and complaints in a manner beffiting of a mature human being and POSSIBLY just POSSIBLY the community devs might be willing to update you. If i was the developer id give 2 fucks abt this community. All you have done is bi#%h and moan for over a year bashing the very company creating the game YOUR crybaby a$$ ppl are playing. God help me im surrounded by stupid!

Atlas has a lot of things right already. Glad changes weren't drastic. Upcoming content sounds interesting.
  31. 1 point
Both points valid and easily rectified. Wont explain how unless devs pay me $$ lol... I ask again... Did they implement tradewinds, farms, docks or warehouses? Any info about it even released?...
  32. 1 point
I entirely disagree with you, for me its a very welcome addition that i can focus on building my base and my ship instead of endless gathering, this is not farmville, if you like gathering so much farmville could satisfy you more than ATLAS.
  33. 1 point
I just logged out and there were 80 online in 1 zone.. The atmosphere in there was a bit... questionable.. people being idiots for the sake of it, killing tames while others were taming them for lols and giving each other grief even for asking questions. Guessing the kids came out of hiding. But mixing 2 regions into a smaller map is going to have people living on top of each other. And that's going to put people's backs up over resources and space etc. People were spamming foundations all over beach fronts which I get if you want to expand to that point and reserve your land until you build on it but sometimes spamming way beyond what you'd need and where it clearly isn't necessary. Bugs have turned up which didn't exist before like farming fibre for instance. Resources seem strangely spread out. Like in some temporate zones there are strawberry's EVERYWHERE but not much of anything else. Seems this game just took a really big step backwards.

Gotcha, and btw thanks for your response. We will be waiting though until it is more permanent but thanks for clarifying
  35. 1 point
Yup, and they also fit well with the words I used such as indefinite and 'leaving the option open'. We will all have to wait and see, but as I said in my comment my point was simply that I wouldn't personally wait for something that could be many months or more away.
  36. 1 point
The only way I maintained some semblance of sanity with the ark devs, was to continually remind myself that it's just a game, and to try to give myself a bit of their F@#$ it attitude. If they don't care, why should we? In a alternate universe the devs are really great, and most of us are cerebellum deep in a alternate life style. We are lucky they suck hard enough to snap us back to reality once and a while right??
  37. 1 point
You know they could have just done a simple Twitch stream to straighten all this out. I'm abit cautious of starting on PvE server until I know it will stay up. It's the "time being" I don't like. Could have shown us the map on stream and explained things, where islands are now, why they have done this and clarify what is happening with servers going forward. How hard is it? I mean I don't mind the wipe after a long period of time playing but if I invest more time now I feel like PvE server will be gone sooner rather than later. They've already said "we are breaking PvE away into something else" TELL US stop speaking in riddles. Does this mean on the PvE server? Or on the PvP server? They have left me totally confused on whether to even attempt to start again tomorrow. I was hoping these devs were going to be better but still can't grasp the basics of communication.

Think there has been quite a misunderstanding of large companies in pvp. "mega tribe" Alliances formed of large companies and Companies split due to max player limit will not fight each other as they are allied. When in a large alliance all other alliances were shoot on sight. Fought regularly over Fob Islands and Powerstone grids or just for the hell of it. large companies are just a step up from a mob, with a little compromise each person trying to achieve his or her own goal while working together to experience the game to it fullest. most of the offline grieving i ever received was as a solo player by small grieving companies or free port/lawless bobs not by large alliances. Even this last Monday playing solo Qm was very friendly when hunting Sod ships in the same powerstone grid as them turn around to be attacked by a lawless bob "3 of my 4 large cannons manned put a quick end to that" . and when i had bad interactions as a solo player with large alliances "schooner being sunk at a powerstone island" was offered a replacement schooner at max craft after speaking with them. subjective As a NA PVP player i fully understand the risk and really enjoy both roles as a Solo player or Megatribe member. is anything in Pve worth working for? you could build a blueprinted base with more hp but its not like anyone is going to break them down, you could blueprint a ship but why would it matter not like you are going to sink someone or get shot at, you could breed animals but since you cant be attacked why would it matter how much health or dmg it did. now that you have cut out the need for any blueprint hunting sod is a waist of time. so what do you do when you have completed the very few quest that are available?
  39. 1 point
Yeh they are being too non committal about future plans for pve, I don't read so much as what they do say, more about what they are not saying. But I still think they will give it a month to see what happens with the player base before they change pve.
  40. 1 point
When you first sold this game, you offered PVP and PVE play. You bragged how big the map would be. Where is your commitment to those now? PVP and PVE players both deserve to be served in whatever you do. Both sides have legitimate reasons in defense of their gameplay. If that means two separate games, or a combined game with some sort of division, so be it. If it’s a money thing and you can not afford all the servers to support both, then say so. Is your silence because you don’t know what your gonna do and your waiting for some epiphany? So what your saying is all the toil and trouble we’ve endured since day one was for nothing because now your undoing everything and starting over with a completely different game? Remember day one and all the server problems. Remember, no trees on the islands to build boats. Remember the stone/organic paste and claiming controversies. We’ve come all this way and now you want to throw it all down the toilet. I like playing PVE and I’ve played some PVP and didn’t enjoy it. As many have stated you can lose a lot of work, really fast. I can appreciate the PVP mindset though. My memories of playing PVP involve trying to stop infiltrators from our island and spending hours repairing pyramid ceiling panels while underway in battle. Yes, with over 2800 hours I’ve rebuilt a lot, started out again more times than I can count, but I always come back to play because I enjoy the game. As a retired disabled veteran, I have plenty of time on my hand and I choose to play your game. As a PVE player, I guess that means very little to you. I gave up ARK for this game with over 6600 hours of game play. Don’t make that a bad decision. Your proposed new map is bad for both PVP and PVE players unless there is a way to save the individual game play styles. Some have supported factions, maybe. Maybe give the current PVE players a special flag or notification that will exempt them from PVP action. IDK. (I remember the HATS) There are a lot of good suggestions out there and I hope your listening to them for everyone’s sake.
  41. 1 point
Mmmmmmmm I love roast duck!, But seriously guys, gals and others, I get that we are all passionate about Atlas, but I think we should leave the pvp for the new map tomorrow eh? (well almost serious anyway).
  42. 1 point
So I was late looking on the actual page of the game, so there is to be one single global server for pve temporarily?....Why temporarily no sense in building or taming anything until it is settled, this is just sad in the game world.
  43. 1 point
Factions are always better than Megas. You can have megas in factions, but having an over arching group that unites players and develops faction pride, always works better than having everyone distrust anyone and foster toxic behavior of "well we cant fight the megas so lets pick on the weaker group until they quit because that is the only PVP content available to us"
  44. 1 point
But, but, they said they don't take it lightly...
  45. 1 point
I noticed how their new community reps still haven't responded. Already off to a great start.
  46. 1 point
I have a solution. PvP can be great when it’s mixed with PVE evenly. You have PVE islands that can’t be raided while PVP islands can. Separate PVE and PvP ship design. One can attack and be damaged and the other is safe. It’s perfect. PVE could sell to PvP encouraging trade. PVE ships can be attacked if they are at PVP harbors. There. I solved it. Let’s play. Heck let’s just do factions. I would like to on be the peace loving bear hugging sponge bob type of pirate faction. The rest can play the scary rated M black sails pirate faction. They go around and are like “Argh! We name our animals after our privates and don’t use soap.” Whilst I am a more like, “Look dear, these flowers are really pretty on this hillside and oh look...a waterfall!” Yeah good times ahead, meanwhile I’ll paint the kitchen until you have my game ready.
  47. 1 point
Actually they haven't said they are keeping the eu pve server either, they just said na would go offline first. And seriously i'd rather build cute little ships and houses than big square blocks with no windows, and ships that look like wooden pyramid shaped hedgehogs covered in canons.
  48. 1 point
Because I bought the the game for pve NA, NA, NA NOT EU. Too many trolls and overcrowding on EU servers not to mention the ping. PVP should go play on the EU let's see how quickly you change your tune...just saying.
  49. 1 point
I wouldn't mind pve and pvp to be on the same map as long as it was separate and of course, a lot bigger than what they are proposing. I agree on the building aspects, I think more detailed crafting could really up the likes on this game I don't even think solo players would dislike that. I do not favor having to go to an EU server, had I known this option from the first I would not have bought it, period as I know what they are like and it has not changed and will only be worse for so many reasons moving pve there, that has already been stated that they are doing that, I don't think pve will get anything out of this except stepped on an assumption yes but, I would bet a good one, I so loved this game hopefully another dev will come out with one close to what they did have, I firmly believe in don't fix something that isn't broken just make it nicer.
  50. 1 point
Personally I'd prefer PvP and PvE be on the same map but separated. This is where I would like factions to come into play also so if you are not a fighting person for PvP anyone like yourself can come to your aid and help you. As for the building part I wish they would make it more interesting and when you build ships you don't just make planks but you have to make the nails also and other items. If anyone played Life Is Fudal people will know what I'm talking about, having to acquire various items to make something. In Life Is Fudal you, to make a warehouse you would have to chop down a tree into a log, cut these logs into planks or into billets.. If you wanted Wooden boards you saw them out, makes it more interesting and fun to give you more of a sense of achievement in making something, in my opinion anyway. I want to know what they have to say first on what changes are coming, which will be taken with a huge pinch of salt as I know what they are like. They say they will bring monthly updates, no you won't, i've heard that before and learned my lesson. I'm still waiting for these "monthly streams" we were supposed to be seeing. I will believe something when it actually happens. If there is big changes and new content I will come back but not if it's the same things as before, moving a few islands around and changing the regions will not bring me back at this time.
