This is the last straw for me. You guys promised last wipe that it wouldn't happen again so on that I spent hundreds of hours collecting gold maximizing my favorite ship all to have it wiped... This is a huge middle finger to everyone who doesn't want to do the PVP nonsense. Nothing that comes out of your mouth is believable at this point.

While they said that they would be taking PvE in another direction, I am almost certain the NA PvE server was not taken down to work on any PvE content. From reading their announcement (which isn't exactly clear and I think purposely worded to be this way), it seems obvious to me that they are using what hosted the NA PvE server to now host their new map, which from their verbiage sounds like it is going to be a PvP server. They will need a server to host this new map, yes? While I'd love to believe they're taking NA PvE down to work on PvE, it seems clear that's not the case at all. The thing is, their announcement is a far cry from clear and I hate to say it, rather than being clear, we are left reading between the lines. To me it seems clear they are essentially sacrificing their NA PvE community not to benefit them (the NA PvE community), but rather, to benefit the NA PvP community with this new map. I quote: "ATLAS' grander plan is to focus on PVP..." ..."with an eye towards breaking out PVE play into something else..." These words tell me they are solely focused on PvP right now, not PvE. And honestly, there is no other explanation for taking NA PvE down other than they need it to host their new PvP map. Having said this, I too am looking forward to changes and I completely understand this is an early access game and I fully expect wipes, changes large and small, etc. However, for those, such as myself, who do not enjoy PvP, having our North American server taken away and given to the PvP community without any real explanation nor statement in regards to what direction they intend to take in respect to PvE play is a real kick in the teeth. It feels as though they've pretty said, "screw you... we could care less about you". Could I be wrong? Could it be that they are taking NA PvE down to work on PvE? Anything is possible. But I highly doubt it.

Ahoy Pathfinders, News from the Cabin Major news! We have been working on our plans for some time and getting ready to give all you Pathfinders the details of our new ATLAS journey. We’re growing the development team and we’ll be starting to introduce those team members to you next week! Updates! Our first major change to the ATLAS will be a whole new World Map which is designed to intensify the fun at higher levels and make it a bit safer for lower level players. This is just the first step in the greater plan to shift gameplay from the land out on to the open seas! This new World Map drops in the first half of July for both PC and Xbox. Another piece of ATLAS’ grander plan is to focus on PVP play with an eye towards breaking out PVE play into something else. As part of this plan, we’ll be taking NA PVE offline and leaving the EU PVE server as the official PVE world for the time being. Bringing a new World Map online will require a complete reset of the system, something we don’t take lightly. We wouldn’t do it if we didn’t feel that it was vital to the new experience we want to create for you all. We have new goals for supporting the game and delivering regular (dare we say monthly!) content updates that will bring joy and piracy back to the open seas, with plans for Trade Winds, Farms, Warehouses, and more! Stick with us on this ride and we’ll sail the high seas together! Believe me, I know all of you want more content but that is not what I am concerned about in the slightest. I don’t even mind leveling up again and redoing all of the bosses/base building/taming/anything EXCEPT..... those stupid discovery points. just remember that you already have a bad name for yourself but you will very quickly become the worst dev company ever if you revamp and wipe the game but leave the discovery points in the game. They don’t need a rework, they need to be gone. Discovery points were by far the worst thing you put into the game(even if some losers think they were good smh) guess what? Even the ones that liked the discovery points are going to be pissed when they have to do it a third time, and if they aren’t they yeah the () said it all lol. so far you guys have not done a good job even in the slightest. They think you guys are done which would be easier. I know you guys are not done but unfortunately I think you will the bed no matter how hard you try. Smh

Well whoever gave you dev guys your new update ideas I just hope for your sake they are a rothschild, cos you're gonna need a bail out. Moving more towards pvp now is a cop out cos u can skimp out on more content. But in the long run the servers will be deader than a one legged pig at a tramps barbeque. Seriously you wait this long to do anything and the best idea you have is to alienate half your remaining player base? And when there are a few new mmos coming out this year and people with less money to spend? Well at least your not in banking and shares eh? I've played since release, both platforms, supported you since day one, and I have this to say..."Goodbye and good luck" and "Bon Voyage"

@ATLAS News please put the NA server back up for a couple days so we can take some screenshots at least. You have my money and 1200+hrs of my family’s time invested. I would like to be able to post at least something positive about the way you have handled this. Thank you, Gomez

You know, I am happy to finally have an update of some sort, and kind of excited to see where things go from here... But I’ve been a fan of this studio since Ark launched and I cannot help but feel hurt and frustrated by the lack of communication. I don’t understand why you’re so unwilling to even drop hints on what’s happening. I honestly thought you’d abandoned this project entirely. Does it really have to be this way?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!??????????? removing NA PVE I suppose we should expect nothing less from Wild Card. I've been on EU it lags soo bad when accessing from the West Coast. I'd ask you (Grapeshot/Wild Card) to reconsider these actions. Invest in your servers and just add a new one, why punish the North Americans? By Dollie , 26,September 2019 We have opted for a rolling start in order to facilitate the best experience possible for all players on PC and Xbox. Beginning with this sole network allows us to monitor performance, make any technical adjustments necessary and resolve issues prior to the full Crossplay rollout on the 8th of October. Our decision to wipe the Networks was not made lightly and involved much deliberation and factoring in of technical aspects and the impact on our current PC players. We have made big changes to the game under the hood, revamped the world map with the addition of over 70 new, unique island templates, as well as some considerable optimization changes and limits put in place which required a full data wipe. After these sets of changes, we do not plan to wipe the network again, even with the introduction of additional platforms and new areas & islands further down our development timeline. We value and appreciate the time spent on the game and the only reason we carry out these wipes is after exhausting all possible alternatives and when they become a necessity. We truly appreciate all the support and feedback you’ve given us over the last few months and we’re excited to welcome new (as well as old) players onto the ATLAS! Not a year has passed and you erase the Server

Our entire company (32 people, and with this ridiculously small number already one the biggest companies on EU PVE) collectively uninstalled Atlas today. Last thing we heard on our way out is that many people in the alliances are planning the same. We, our company, won't be back. This has been the worst communication from any development team to their community I have experienced in my 35 years of gaming. This has been the biggest bag of false promises I have ever seen in anything in any industry. Even in the low standards of the gaming industry this was way beyond anything that's acceptable. In any other industry, in many countries, this would even have been considered fraud. I was so mad so often during the past months, I even wrote a kind of pain diary about Atlas, sent it to a major German gaming magazine/site, and they actually picked up on it, lowered the (already low) rating for the game, plus - in a current special on pirate games on their site -, they first added a big warning sign next to Atlas at first, and later on removed Atlas entirely from the list. Now, before I leave, there's four things I long to say: 1. Regarding the patch: Nobody needs a new world map! And we get it just because the only remaining level designer was the last guy still on the Atlas team while the rest of your (anyway B-)team was added to Ark to help finishing the DLC - which turned out to be an overpriced piece of garbage, too. Company must be doing great! You already lost the Ark players you had briefly gained by the DLC (Steamcharts is our friend against your lies). All the while you sold out a true high potential game. 2. Remove the "MMO" tag on steam. This game doesn't deserve the tag, not in regards to amount of active players, not in regards to maximum players per instance, not in regards to technical achievement, and certainly not in regards to persistence. And IF you call yourself MMO, then you should rather want to cut off one of your fingers than wiping the servers. (Also, stop calling your servers "network", it's utmost ridiculous!) 3. Jatheish as well as Dollie: get your asses out of the gaming industry, you are a disgrace and should be ashamed to even dare to call yourself community managers. 4. Your decision makers need to start learning, they seem to be insanely immature and unprofessional. It's okay to be fairly young, fairly untalented and fairly clumsy. But it's not okay to go into hiding when you simply fail to deliver. This Doug Kennedy, whoever that is, must be a spineless chicken shit. We're out (and also won't read the fanboy replies on here any longer, so go crazy as you wish). No no no no!! I refuse to play PvP. And if we lose all our animals that we worked so hard to breed, I might as well uninstall the game.

People arent mad about the wipe folks are mad because they said fuck pve.

Oh great, so I bought a game based on it being PVE for it only to be stripped. This whole thing smells bad.

i gonna tell you what gonna happen, 1. anounce new stuff 2. get some cash out of it 3. ignore the Community for month 4. Invest it on next Ark addon and this has nothing to do with salty, time has already shown that they gave up the game after seasson 1, its just a cashcow.

I will NOT be forced into PvP! Period! And I just dropped a couple hundred hours into building a new stone base. I think I'll just go enjoy New World. Good timing on your patch.

So when are we gonna get a sorry for what you did to the community? I didn’t know ARK genesis was on the ATLAS roadmap. Dollie, the CM manager that ignores her community, nice one. I’m very disappointed.

Some of you guys should really take a long break from the game like I did. You are just as salty as when I was reading these forums about four months ago. Really, not trying to be mean, but I think a good month or two break from here would help you a lot. I too was getting saltier and saltier, a break was very nice. As someone else said, the "New Map" is probably just the current one with many less grids, as the number they have now in no way matches the number of players on the official maps. Surprising they haven't done this sooner. Of course to reduce it, they would have to move many of the islands into the grids that are left. At the same time, someone who is not currently playing the game and has a bit of optimism left, and not all hope sucked dry, might hope that a few new grids will be added. Possibly some from a few of the great modders out there that have created content for this game. Also a few other small changes thrown in there to make PvE and PvP work on a single map. But to be honest, when I say try it out, I mean most likely on a private server that incorporates some of the changes. I stopped playing on the official servers over a year ago.
