In agreement with the game's true intent and design, i recommend having 50 aimbotters of your own.

I often see forum messages like: "WE WANNA MORE SHIP TYPES IN THE GAME" I mean, it would be cool if there were a lot of different ship types. And I feel sad to talk about it. But let's take a sober look at current ship state. So. Difference between ships should be: - Hold size. - Sturdiness. - Amount of cannons. - Speed and maneuverability. And we should actually choice our vessel because of current mission needs (it's like that - we wouldn't wanna sail Frigate to nearest island, because we will unanchor it and then park back like for ever). And what do we have right now? - Hold size doesn't matter. We can put all of our cargo in to small chest in ship corner. - Sturdiness doesn't matter, because we can enforce our ship armor with additional roofs, walls, and ceilings and enforce it more with skills. - Amount of gunports goesn't matter because we can add extra 20 cannons to our brig and even 10 more to stern and 10 more to ship nose. - We have largest and fastest ship in a game. Why would we want slower and smaller? And maneuverability is important in boardside battles, but no one does that. Just usual chasing tactic and nose-stern cannons shoot. So... we've basically got everything we need. Wanna more different type of ship - use current base and create different types with roofs, ceilings, walls, different sails, and custom amount of cannons. If ship type would depend how many cargo it can carry (I'm not talking about weight, but size). How strong firepower it can carry, etc. Then we would wanna more ship types. But to make so - there are a lot of dramatic design restriction should be introduced! like no more guns out of gunports, no more roofs armor etc. Until then (and again I sad to say that) we simply don't need any more ship types.

Charge into battle while holding a penguin to take the shot for you.

I know the games still in progress but an idea, The amount of time you try to find your friends on an island when you split up, there could be a symbol on the map to show you where they exactly are, they have it for ships travelling the seas but not when you are on a island.

Except I really grew to hate knockout taming playing Ark.

my time is my life. i never said it got in the way of my real life nor did i say i care what you've done with your time or your preference on staying positive. only thing clear here is that you don't know what youre talking about and that you shouldn't be lecturing anyone about anything pertaining to this games development or their life choices.

dude with 8 posts who joined on feb 11 wants to lecture us about the game and its development. thats rich. those of us who you say are fountains of negativity have been here for almost a year and a half, investing our lives into this game and its development, just to get shit on while the devs make false promise after false promise then they left atlas to die while they worked on fucking ark. good. i hope they drop the fuck out of the industry and save the gaming community from investing in their lies ever again. if i knew they were going to pull this shit id have never spent 3k hours ingame and countless hours writing posts on how to improve the game and documenting bugs. fuck you.

Honestly, I feel their success with Ark was largely accidental. It was just the right thing at the right time and Ark is enough of a sandbox that people can enjoy it no matter what the devs intended. When I say "devs" I'm really talking about the leadership. Why they might know how to run a dev team and while some they've hired have the technical skills to make it happen, I've felt for a while they lack the actual game design abilities. Ark has always felt like a loose daisy-chain of features and content pieced together rather than a coherent plan. The worst part is that same leadership lost interest soon after Atlas's release, so it just stumbled forward for a few months after than, then pretty much nothing since.

So it looks like you're an xbox player. Let's see what your opinion is after you've been here over a year, (if you're still around), with few if any helpful or interesting updates, a couple major changes in the wrong direction along with complete wipes, and then the announcement that the next 3 months development will all be focused on bringing some other group of new players online and you'll get a wipe at the end of that. And after they do all that they announce they will be heads down on patches, but they disappear completely and you find out they're not Atlas patches. You may have a different perspective than a bright-eyed newbie at that point. And you should know that they claim to have Community managers and staff whose job is just to, you know, communicate with us. Nobody expects the coders or graphic artists popping in here.

I was honestly expecting Atlas to add a new boat every other month or so. Sad because it's the only "PVP MMO" out and so little dev time goes into it, just tweaking scripts here and there, and the base raiding meta is in many ways better than Arks. We got the 6 gun, crossbow, tortuga, and cat last year, rest was all bug-fixes. Honestly I think they expected much higher sales, but the botched launch and all the negative press killed chances for this game to get resources put on it. The horrible melee combat system and superiority of it over guns doesn't help much either. People like run and gun gameplay not stunlock 1 shot kill melee combat and 10 second reload times. The "end-game" tames are also garbage, ie the Razortooth gets wrecked by bears/horses. It's a complete joke. The Tortuga is only good for gathering sea-weed and that's if you don't have a sub. I mean why even devote the tens of thousands of dollars and dev time it takes to create these things if they serve no purpose in game? Same with the Kracken, it serves to unlock the sub, making that hundred or two thousand dollar investment a side-show as well. With the Tortuga, why should I even do the Kracken except for getting bonus levels, which the community is telling you is a broken and tedious way to handle progression anyway. You could argue "to get to unlock torpedoes" but nobody uses those due to cost, and Ice Cave is done for XP only, no rewards, so it goes double for that content, why just throw away your dev time by making it inaccessible to people and done once? Who is the game designer here? In Ark at least that's how you would farm element. And even if they did it becomes a "why should I even bother with this game" type issue and something long-time players will get bored from because the content is done once. Even WoW reused dungeon content more than once before sending you off to the next theme-park ride. This is not a theme-park, it's a sandbox, a pvp sand-box at that. Devs need to make the content contribute to the sandbox in some way otherwise people are going to go back to playing PubG and APEX Legends and battlefield if it's just a game about throwing down claim flags, I can do that in those games without breaking my mouse left clicking trees and shrubs. Either that or they will go back to Runescape or that other Pirate RPG. As it is now, my Atlas play consists of 1) putting food in my food larder and 2) fetching some deep sea loot crates for my gold supply and 3) logging out, because other than maps or grieving someone (which is less profitable than farming), what to do? Oh, and claims are so fucking expensive and such a huge monotony to maintain there is really nothing to fight over except your fucking map/berry-farming chores. It's starting to seem like another Fallout 76 where "players make the role-playing content" instead of relying on EMERGENT GAMEPLAY to handle that for you. People should be fighting over the Kracken spawn, ie you should get something good for killing the Kracken. Same with Ice Cave. People should be fighting all over golden age ruins for gold and mythos. Even 1997 UO had things to fight over, it was less of a "grand theift auto/pvp game" than Atlas, just look at that. People would fight over spawn camps and shit like that all the time. Flyers are already in the game in the form of a fucking DRAGON, why not have Leatherwings tame-able? Just normalize golden age ruins to lvl 30, make all the normal creatures alphas, you're done. Remove the ability to "pick" people while you're at it if you dont like that meta. I would also suggest making blueprints like Ark's. GIVE ME A REASON TO FARM RARE MATS AND MYTHOS. I'm not going to do it if I have to spend 8 hours doing a map for 3-4 mythical crafts, and have enough mythos left over to make 100 more items, nor will I do it if you simply cut mythos drop rate, simply because Legndary items are usually better. mean holy shit that mechanic is stupid. People are going to /quit or get raided anyway and either get looted or popcorn blueprints. Ark economy does fine with endless blueprint crafting. Would be cool if I could store those in a bank box too, which would add some element of players backstabbing their company to the game like you have in EVE, and like people aren't going to inside raid anyway. I mean even Ark has a vendor-merchant now in the form of HLNA where you can buy resources, items etc, all kinds of questing, races etc.. How is that in Ark which isn't even an RPG and is not in Atlas which is AND has been in development longer than Ark's latest expansion?

u fuckin wot m8? who the hell are you? Because its not going to get improved in a timely manor and this game is not about breeding, its about piracy and sailing. Seriously, you have to be a special kind of sensitive to get angry at someone suggesting to not preform an unpleasant activity that doesn't actually improve the game in a meaningful way. It's conformist and mediocre to say "don't do the things you don't like" in a VIDEO GAME? Is that what you are telling me? This is some clown shit.

This game is doing what Ark did so horribly, a track record Wildcard seems to have is creating games where you literally can’t afford to play anything else if you want to enjoy the game to its fullest. The breeding and taming in this game need to be lowered badly. The raising times along with biome requirements and travel time make this aspect of the game impossible for those that can’t afford the time to play the game CONSTANTLY. The developers need to understand this mechanic will lose them players, and that developers cannot always have everything their way. Concessions need to be made for players of this game or it will die just as official Ark did. The only things keeping games like this alive are unofficial servers and people with nothing better to do.

I see a lot of negative comments from the community on here and I can't help thinking that a lot of you seem to be forgetting a few important details. The game is incomplete, we all know that, there is fair warning before purchase and every time we load up on the main menu. The other thing that seems to be forgotten is that devs who waste time responding to every little coment, from players who have forgotten that they knowingly choose to play pre-release, aren't working on the game. Personally I enjoy the game and am looking forward to seeing what Grapeshot have planned for full release. Be patient and if your not happy with the state of the game then just take a break until it's closer to actual launch.

Frankly, you obviously just want to rant and vent at someone so go ahead and waste your time. I've played atlas since pc release and also play it on the xbox too. through every wipe I might add and I still came back and still play. I think i've earned the right to an opinion on where the game is headed. And imo Atlas needs to break away from ark completely and stand on it's own now.But by all means, use petty arguments and rant on. But you'll be talking to yourself, believe me.
