    Went out with my bear yesterday. Granted, it's a shitty lvl 55 cargo bear but hey, the map was only a 3.3... easy right? aotd bear damage = 17 Ok, screw that. I got two pistols. I'll end this shit right now... boom... boom. aotd pistol damage (head shot) = 6 Well, that's good news. Now I can spec out of taming since I won't need a bear to sail around and do pointless maps with. And I can spec out of pistols because I only need a bow to kill the wolves around me. And, I won't have to waste skill points on crazy stuff like swords, or armor. Cool! Ok, so... to hell with maps, I'll go kill sotd. Whipped out he brig, spent an hour and a half sailing around. Killed 2 low level brigs and a low level galleon. Spent like 100 cannon balls and another hour repairing the brig (roof armor which npc's, who I'm PAYING, refuse to fix) My rewards? 39g, 19 large cannon balls (useless since large cannons are gunport only), 16 liquid flame (useless in pve), a common ballista and 9 ballista bolts. Oh, and a common ballista blueprint (Yipee!) Was that a hint for me to do whales? Naa. Can't be. In that hour and a half sailing around I didn't see a single one. Surely not. Ok, so remind me again, what was this grand plan about me spending more time at sea and less on land? I forget. Oh wait, I remember. That massive adrenaline rush I get from doing both of the 3.0 sunken treasure (the only 2 the sextant buffed showed in all that sailing around) which paid more than either the map or the sotd (barely)! And that's with me only getting to do one because after I dived on the second one I found the entrance to the chest buried under dirt. But hey, I still got 56g off the first one. Yea baby! Filthy rich. 105 more days like this and I can afford to change the name on my ship! Whew! I still have a reason to play the game. I'm so glad I came back to Atlas. (For those unfamiliar with me or my methods, this is NOT optimism. It's fucking sarcasm.)

    The problem is that usually in the region there are a lot of ships, and there aren’t enough damneds for everyone. Often I play as a person and sail 5-7 hours a day, sail 77 percent of the time in the empty ocean. It would be great if you reduced the time of the next appearance or made for each player a separate own spawn. For example, every 5-10 minutes in front of the damneds ships in golden region.

    Before Atlas was released, watching the trailer, it did appear that maybe factions would be a thing. We saw what looked like some official type army, like possibly the British army and then pirates. If they had created a faction system around at least those two, that would have been cool. I can see now that would be way too ambitious, so instead they just used the existing system of tribes (called companies) for Atlas. We may still get it some day, hard to know.

    You know what I've been thinking of? As far as we've got battle tames, what if instead of riding one and make it bite the enemies we do "knight style" tames. So we use bull, bear or horse for that. We create some heavy armor for them, then use long lance or other melee to fight ahorse. Other battle tames use as pets to fight along us, but not like we riding em and they bite. Elephant saddle could be used to attach some ranged also... : )

    Hot zones: Every 2 hours a random zone is elected the hot zone. When this happens there is a server wide announcement specifying which zone is hot. Also if possible the map shows which grid is the current hot zone. This zone has increased SoTD spawn rates at higher levels, increased BP and gold drops for SoTD and shipwrecks. Also maps for this zone become boosted during this time increasing gold and BP drops. Maybe increase high level wild creatures (more level 30 spawns) as well so the breeders have something to look for. This will increase zone and sailing traffic in and around these areas as everyone looks to cash in on bonanza. This should increase sea combat as people look to profit off of these events. I stole this directly from Shadowbane. I loved this game mechanic. You could profit from this greatly and also always guaranteed a good fight.

    I think players are a bit more skilled now so SoTD's in greater numbers is less of a concern than it used to be. I remember how crazy it was at one point and would not mind seeing that on occasion. IDEA: Random 2 hour hot zones. When a zone goes hot its announced to the server and that zone has increased spawn rates, higher end SoTD and increased payouts for BP's and gold. That could make for some fun sea battles.

    I'm not bothered either way on factions but it would be more realistic for pyrates to be robbing someone other than more pyrates. I mean you could have for instance, Pyrate, then trade ie east indiaman company, and royal navy, each with different ships and buffs. And a personal use peace flag would be good too, for parley situations.

    Ok so heres a Few weapon, Bombs , Ranged Weapons, armor and a special weapons! one handed: Dager: Holds two of them while they do low damage they have a Very fast attack speed and with a Few moves you can do a Bleed effect, once you do a special move they will have a very strong bleed effect! Boarding Axe (tier 3): able to disarm shields, go through some armor, able to break through wooden buildings somewhat easily, and is stronger then the Cutlass but much slower to uses. with a Special move you are able to lowers someone/things damage resistance for the cost of stamina. needs alloyed! Two handed! Pike: Able to do special move that's like a Charge attack , kinda like a Bayonet! Long Sword: (tier 2) while not as strong as a Mace it can do quit a Punch! able to due a Smiler move with the Cutlass but its larger and dose a Bit more damage, its lower to uses but it strong! Mace: needs alloyed! Archery: Longbow: Basically a compowen bow from ark but with a very nice Look of wood and metal, takes longer to charge but does more damage and has a Slight Armor Penetration! Harpoon Gun: (update) has a Natural Bayonet able to melee attacks , can uses on land but not as good as in the water! Guns: Harmonica Rifle: A rifle with 5 shots, Very Slow reload , ok damage but ever good for battle. until you have to reload! Blunderbuss Canister Shot Shot: like how the Swivel Cannon has this ammo! the Blunderbuss can have its own version but its weaker! its longer to reload but does very Nice damage! Bombs! Fire Bomb! like Greek fire but in a Jar and it can Rekt stuff up! Stink bomb: able to disorientate enemies, tames and NPCs to have blurry vision, loses stamina and Food! and slowly drains Health! Brawling Cat claws: these sharp claws are weapons are GREAT! for tearing flesh and can hit Fast with them! can do a Special move to attack with a Very deadly Slashes that cause Bleed! Gauntlets: these things Hit like a Turtle shell being flung at you by a Catulpte. needing alloyed to make, the gauntlets are the heavy weapon for Brawlers and if you do a Special move! you Knock down a lot of their resistance. Special weapons: Whips: acts the same as they do in ark! Cat of Nine tails: A super wipe that does more damage can can even cause bleed. Armor! (this may be controversial) Metal amor: made with raw metals , Hide and Keratinoid. this is much different (you will see why and may not like) this armor looks like Musketeer armor or spanish conquistador armor but the metal looks kinda rusty in a way since its raw metal (armor is 45 each) Plated armor (y'all may kill me for this) change the recipe to aloyed , Hide , Oil , Keratinoid and Fiber! but the armor value changed form 45 per part, to 75 per part! Desert Cloth: looks like a Nice leather plated armor with Silky parts with a Turban on the face to protect you from the heat same value as Fur but keeps you cool rather then warm! (needs, Hide , plant fiber , oil and Organic paste) Spells! (yeah we going into the crazy zone!) mythos doesn't really have many uses so this is what it can be used for! found in a New perk tree! "Art of Magic" and this skill is Costly (these spells can only be used with special Gloves with bracelet , and a few rings, these aren't a early game thing, they are a Mid tier game,) for basic spells you need a Special powder made from "bones , stones , crystals ,oil and gems!" but the very strong spells need mythos! the magic powder takes more but you can change it to mythos to have stronger base attacks and able to do special moves! Wind spell: (Color Grey): can uses wind to blast to knock back a bit but damage them with winds that pick up dust , sand etc! Base: small wind blast that can knock people back a bit Base 2: Longer blast of wind hits you! heavy: Able to blast stuff back around you and dose damage in a AOE attack Special Spell that makes a Tornado that does more damage and can damage buildings! Water spell: (color: dark blue): water dose damage to people and lowers armor values a bit!, moves! Base: A water blast a basic blast of water! Base 2: a wave of water appears to damage and knock people back, AOE move that allows you or anyone in the circle to breath underwater and have water animals attack you less! Special move: able to summon a Large amount of rain that damages people and floods boats slowly! earth spell: able to Control earth! Base: Able to fire Summon rocks from the ground in a Shotgun Blast! base 2: able to summon vines from the ground to damage people: Heavy: Able to heal people or yourself (depends on Medicine skill) Special: able to make a Earthquake near you that slowly damages foundations and people Lighting spell: (color purple) able to shoot LIGHTING from your hands! (cost more) (need Wind spell) Base: a Lighting blast! (can't stun) base 2: a Shotgun Blast of lighting (doses less damage but good for bigger targets) heavy: able to do a AOE were if anything gets close it will get zapped special move: Able to Summon lighting from the Sky that doses Heavy damage (can stun but has a cooldown) cost ALOT! Ice spell:(color Light Blue) able to control the polar wind to your will! (cost more)(need Water spell) base: able to Fire a Ice Ball that slows targets down and damages them! base 2: Able to fire a Ice shard that goes through targets Heavy: a large Blast of Cold Wind that slows and damages enemies! Special: able to fire a Ice tornado that slowly freezes enemies into place and doses damage! Fire spell: Able to fire well FIRE! (cost more)(need earth) Base: Shoot a blast of fire! Base 2: able to blast fire like a Dragon! Heavy: A Shotgun blast of fire balls that does lower damage but the fire does a TON! special: able to fire a piece of Magma that blows up like a bomb and sets enemies on fire!

    This is what I want. Not only the amount of cannons (cannons = Weight so disadvantage for ship fights, the space between cannons is way too much and the cannon holes are too big on the atlas galleon) but also the coloring. Come on. Colors have been shit for so long. Even in the Egypt times they could make more brighter colors than the ones in Atlas a few thousand years later.

    Ships.... Its a game that is supposed to be about sailing and we have 3 Ship-types, one of them rather pointless. Rethink the whole treasure map system. It is boring and a big turn off. Add content. Follow your actual "roadmap" Communicate in a way that works for your target audience. Learn who your target audience actually is.

    that would be cool! Bars to buy Alcohol and some ok food! Casinos to play dice , roulette etc and you can get some items and gold Traders to buy and sell loot, buy higher level people and special items task maker to get quest like bountes , tressure , Resources etc witches and mages to give Mythos and other magical items for loot! it could be nearly endless with ideas!

    The honeymoon period for this game was well and truly over months ago, they've let alot of people leave because of their mistakes. They have favoured the big streamers over the smaller groups or solo players. They talk to the big streamers all the time on what is going on in Discord but the rest of us are kept in the dark. I kept playing hoping things would pick up or change for the better, it didn't, more people have left including xbox players which was a cash grab to start with. After 1800hrs I myself gave up, there is no hope for it anymore unless there is a huge turnaround like No Man Sky. Why they had SOTD in a pirate game I will never know, if they were going to have ships why didn't they put the ships that we already build and man them with NPC to control like they do with SOTD? Let us board those ships and take the loot, like the pirate game it should be. They really haven't thought this through, I'd be happy to live off the ships and do away with most of the land building. Until they start listening the game has no chance, it will keep the big streamers happy though on PvP. At least New World is just around the corner which has PvE, I'm looking forward to that now.

    check thier tax rate, if it's not 0% they obviosly want you to get that treasure and if there is no open doors they must want you to use thier tames not yours to kill the AotD. Seems realy nice of them to my way of thinking.

    If they do end up with factions then the maximum should be 3. That's what most games do, Some do two, but not many go over 3.

    Make 4 major factions Turn 3/4 lawless into faction held pve grids with basic materials. (basic wood/thatch/fiber/metal only) no salt/sap etc make the islands pve, but make water full PVP around the island. Same 15 min green anchor rule applies. Set Max structure limit to 500 per company and tame limit to 20 and ship limit to 10 for these grids. Require silo for structure for maintenance ( stone/wood/thatch/metal etc) and gold cost of 200gold per day. Otherwise structures and ships decay in 48hrs. Ships also become unanchored and therefore subject to full PVP rules. Set build radius of for these grids to be same as lawless.

    Mutations do give 2 per stat they mutated in. The only way to know for sure what the mutations were in was to look at the parents stats. Sometimes you can get a useless mutation that doesn't help. For example, lets say the Mother had 13 Melee, and the Father had 15 Melee. There is a chance the baby inherits the Mothers 13 Melee, and then it gets a mutation in Melee, so the baby has 15 Melee. You might think it simply got the fathers melee stat and not realise.

    ok so i had a few more and this is for animals/tames Giant lizard: acts like the Megalina but it can spit and the bite posions you! Shark: Normal sharks while the ones we have can be "Razortooth shark" Crocodile: A Normal size one the acts like the Sarco. the one we have in game could be called "Grand Crocodile" Gorilla: Can tame, gather plants fibbers , throws you and can hit like a Truck! Dingos: Can be tamed, are nice guard dogs, Nice pets for ships , Help you find Treasure! and just look cute! found nearly anywhere in small packs. they act like Hyenas from ark GIANT CENTIPEDE: found around the large Jungles and Desert islands. they are Very large almost as big as a Basilisk and they are Super strong but drop a nice amount of loot! Hippo: able to tame, can Swim nicly , Move on land nicly , will Retk you and everything you love! are strong! Deer: can't tame but give a Nice amount of meat and Hide! Toads: Large Man eating toads with Teeth , 4 eyes and have a Nice Range attack. Can tame but its hard! Mire Squid: SMALL SIZE found in more Smaller Bodys of water like swamps or even out at sea, they can grab you and they will try to eat you! they are weak though! Sea Monster: found out at sea and looking like a Loch Ness monster but will pop its head out of the water and may try to attack a boat! drop a nice amount of meat! Prowler: a large Bird that looks kinda like a Rock drake and a Parrot and they can fling Razor sharp feathers out to cut you! Razorfeather: a small cousin of the Razortooth, the Razor Feather is a medium size predator that has Razor sharp Feathers on its arms and tail, a nice Bite or even a slash with the arm feathers are able to cut through flesh easily. Can tame. Needs tier 3 though! Fin Wing: A mid size Bird that's able to be tamed, they love the water and like to prey on fish and can even go deeper underwater around were angler fish are. while they can't fly they have a Short distance glide and drive in the water very well! Giant rats: they can't be tamed but they can spread diseases and like to spawn on islands! and Pirate/Army of the damned classes! Pirates! Sailor: most common and they are the Lowest rank (Armor: cloth)(weapons: Spears , Knuckles, Bow, Cutlass and pike) Solder: Less common and usually guard bases and go on patrols. (armor: Hide cloths but have cloth cap) (weapons: Spears , Knuckles , Cutlass , pike , crossbow , bow, flintlock and Shield)(Rare weapons: Carbin and Blunderbuss) Heavy: Moves very slowly and have armor that allows them to handle many attacks but they attack slowly. (armor: Plated). (weapons: Mace, or Cutlass with shield) Bomber: a rare troop found mostly guarding bases and they have a Bandolier and bags full of bombs that he will try to chuck at you! but if you shoot the bandolier, he will do BOOM they will also try to blow up buildings if they are yours!. (cloths: Cloth but has a Bandolier and bags)(weapons: Bombs) Archer: Moves around quietly and uses bows or crossbows to attack. (cloths: Fur)(weapons: Bow "can uses fire arrows" or crossbow) Captain: a Boss level enemy that is strong and they are armored to the teeth! (cloths: Plated armor but wears a Leather hat)(weapons: Two cutlass's , two Flint locks, or a Blunderbuss!. drops alot of loot and if killed. pirates will set a bounty on your and they will come after you in ships and on your islands! Army of the Damned! Damned Sailor: They are just Skeletons! they are weak and they are Cannon fodder! but with enough of them they can kill you! (weapons: Hands, tools, Spears , Club or rarely a Cutlass) Damned Solder/Archer/Trooper: they are they main army that takes over islands and does the Damned's biting. (weapons, Spears , pikes , Cutlass , Throwing knifes, crossbows , bows)(rare weapons: Flintlocks , blunderbuss and Carbin) Damned Guard: the heavy's of the Army and they are sent to destroy anything that opposes them! (weapons: Mace)(very rare weapons: Mobile Swivel Cannon) (can't uses) Damned Bomber/destroyer: these guys are the Main troops sent to destroy buildings and pathfinders homes or ships!: (weapons: Bombs and Fire Bombs) (bomber weapons: Gunpowder barrel, they will attempted to Jog at you and Blow themselves up! and anything around them, but if you kill them without the barrel going off! you get a Free gunpowder barrel) Damned Necromancer: A ghostly skeleton that has electricity Flowing through him and is Hovering above the ground he has a Ability to zap you to do damage, heal troops by zapping them and Summon a Army of skeletons. (weapons: Zap! and heal) (Skeletons: each time he spawns them around 4 at a time, they spawn in level 1 and only there hands! they can damage any building but it takes a While, if you kill the Necromancer and his skellys are still out and about, they will die) Damned Soul: the Poor souls that thought that stealing anything from the damned and getting caught is a fate worse then Death! they turn into these Monsters with Contorted faces , Long teeth , Large underbite , sharp bony back , and Deadly claws! the poor soul feels everything and is forced to kill those that they care about, and must summon their own kind to help kill pathfinders. (weapons Claws , jaws and leap attack) (AI: they would have almost the same AI as the Nameless from Ark Aberration but has a few differences. 1: they have no armor , 2: they only summon each other and 3: they look different) Damned Animals: these are animals cursed by the army of the Damned for whatever reason, they have white glowing eyes, the Ora around them, and look bloody, they will attack anything that's not "damned" (type ANY) Damned Warlock: these big guys are large and are the ones that Curse people and are leaders of large ships and armies, they hold a Staff that allows them to shoot powerful orbs that can destroy buildings, ships and People! (basically cannon balls) and they can boost their troops to be stronger! (weapons: Warlock staff shoots damned cannon balls!)

    I think the devs have finely realised the game is dead in the water. You either enjoy it as it is or you move on like alot of people. They will suffer more when New World is released but they only have themselves to blame, the dev team is not good enough. The new guy was a flop, typical gimmick. They may as well have just added Atlas to Ark, merge them together.

    The damage of animals vs AOTD has been decreased by 66% but not only that - you take way more damage. A masterwork warrior usually deals around 60-70 damage per hit. Right now, a common warrior of level 22 deals 60 damage to tames and players. Good job Grapeshot, you manage to screw up the only thing nobody was complaining about.

    No, actually that's a known issue with UE 4. And they have addressed the issue in recent builds of the game engine. I'm sure you have evidence to support your claim. But I have spent the past week researching it, and all its possible work around. And there is even a post from Jat acknowledging it. That being said, we haven't seen recent updates from grapeshot since some of the possible fixes have been made to the engine itself

    Fast travel aka teleportation should never be a thing in atlas... honestly i kinda have a problem with even bed spawning (i feel like spawning in after you die should have a much greater timer than 2 min) or even bed hopping for discoveries... but when it comes to sailing, i believe if you want to find a new place you need to sail there manually. exploration is a huge aspect to this game... i mean shit... it's fun.. you get to see what others have built, find new pvp targets and you get discovery points that advance your max lvl... what's not to like about that... but when it comes to hauling materials, its super time consuming and makes it almost impossible for small companies to compete and stay relevant and therefor stay in the game without getting completely stomped out wherever they go (trust me, ive always been in a large company and see small groups being extinguished and forced to merge with someone they dont want to or quit on the daily)... when it comes to an economy, there really isnt one. player shops are either just holding spots to store gold for respecs and cosmetics or are always almost empty or filled with raw materials you still gotta ship back anyways so theyre worthless to buy and would be farmed up in minutes in a nearby grid so what is the answer to that? there really should be an automated sailing and/or trade winds ( high windage routes) that fallow grid walls. automated sailing being where you can put an npc on the steering wheel, hold e on the npc and select "select course" where it pops up a map where you can put in your turning points (grid corners) all the way to the eventual destination grid, at a high gold charge rate. the devs should make a special skill line or rank option in companies called logistics managers that get notifications of all automated ships navigational progress and if its getting attacked by pirates.benefits of such a system1. More time doing what you actually love instead of spending all your time sailing resources around.2. Pirate content - a constant supply of trader vessels to pillage and steal for your own company3. Small companies now have a chance of finding and obtaining the materials it takes to build BP gear and stay competitive where before they didn't have the manpower and time to do the hauling manually. 4. The chance to actually build a real economy. With the supplementation of materials and time allocation comes the building of BP's (supply and demand). where before you would just find worthless stacks of raw mats in the occasional mostly empty freeport store, now you will find premade BP's gear and parts. Gold will become more valuable and used. Int crafters will become renown and more coveted. 5. being that turn points are the corner of grid and the paths are the grid walls, manually sailing thru grids would still be much faster, cheaper and less risk in getting found by pirates than automated shipping therefor manually shipping would still be a viable speedy option for anyone doing so.

    Hello Everyone, I have been playing the current ship meta for a while now and i have to say it is not great. You have to shave all the weight of your ship to be able to take other ships down. I would like the devs to change the ships so that if it is under 50% weight, then it has no impact on the ship max speed. This would make it so you can actually build on your ship and make different types of ships. It would also be nice if you refined the detection of structures sticking over the side of your ship. It would prevent wood armor from covering the planks on the side and front of the ship, this would prevent the armored schooners and brigs. When a ship has cannons on the deck it makes it way stronger in ways of coverage or broadside damage. For instance people use a one side broadside brig where they have 12 cannons on one side to instant destroy galleon planks with the feat buff(You get hit by 24 mythical cannons at once). It would also be really good if there was a stat penalty for putting cannons on the top deck. It could be a reduction in resistance or damage of the ship. Like the current speed/weight meta is boring and is not really how a wooden ship fights should be in my opinion. The speed differences between the classes dose not make for great game play and fights. I would change the max speeds on the different classes, right now it just dose not make sense to me. Schooner should be the fastest, then brig and the galleon should be slowest. I will give you an example of how the max speed was in real life 16'th century time. Schooner 16 knots, Brig 12 knots and galleon 8 knots(Max speeds of those classes form the 16'th century). I am not saying that we need to go that slow but just balance the difference, so it fits more. You could go max speed schooner 30 knots, brig 24 knots and galleon 18 knots as an example. I believe that a galleon should always have support ships when in use, since they are large ships for company use! This would also create an objective for companies to protect there galleons and create fleets more often. What do people think about this?     Test by yourself...but can also bake a cake... It makes no sense level quickly and the bottles are no problem. if you are taking the time to search bottles and do not ask crazy here. Level up fast.
