Please check the boom angle and sail bulge of Handling sail and Weight sail in relation to wind direction. I think is "OK-ish" to one side, but disastrously wrong the other side. Handling sail boom should always point more or less AWAY from the WIND. (Unless you press the boom by hand against the wind and you sail backwards!) Bulge should always be AWAY from the wind like the other sails. (You must make two alternating handling sail meshes or MIRROR sail mesh's x-axis when changing tack. you cannot just rotate all along y-axis) On Running wind (behind) the boom can be on either side (of your choice) (90 degrees to wind) and bulge forward. Suggesting to Google images "sail positions for points of sail" / Old sailor PS. Great game (800+ hrs)

Add some kind of control points to the map, could be some kinda market points where players can rent booths to sale ingame items or player housing to give players the ability to keep a few items safe but make em pay taxes for it. Make these locations available for any company to take control of by capturing a control tower at that location and the company will be able to collect the taxes on it. Put like a 12 hour timer on it and whoever wins it collects the taxes for the next 12 hours. Darkfall Online had somethin like this and it would bring in several enemies to that location at a specific time. Just an idea for having more open sea combat.

Thanks for adding singe player, I can settle whatever island I want, build whatever I want everywhere and set the rates how I want them. Thank you devs BTW: does anyone know what the single player settings option does?

Please add "Use Crows Nest". Where the npc crew will man the closest sails crows nest and raise an alarm if they see anything. i.e like arks parasuar. Perhaps allow them to equip a spyglass for extra range. A useful message like flotsam sighted, whale sighted would be good.

What are you talking about. How am I spamming the forums? this is one thread I am posting in. Spamming the forums would be making multiple threads. Do you even know what spam is? you made yourself look pretty stupid on this one.

right now he is more on topic for this forums than you thats for sure, so what color do you want you containment unit?

Gonna miss “STFU dude, you don’t even own the game!”....

No, I changed the message hah. I read it wrong. You can get seeds by harvesting hand /animal. All the seeds, where to find them and where you can plant them is on the seeds gamepedia.

When you anchor the ship in any grid except freeports, it shouldn't decay. When you drive or not anchor it, it slowly decays. But there is a real decay timer for ships who are not in use. After a few days (somewhere between 8...14) it disappear instant. If you get a resource-chest on your ship and resources in it, a crewmate without a task starts to repair the ship when fully anchored.

cannon bears should not survive a cannonball... and not move while shooting an at least usually 3 men operated cannon with a setup time of minutes... If you cannot take a cannon ball like a really bear cannot... If you have say 20 seconds setup time where the bear cannot move or the timer resets, to actually fire the bear cannon... Than defense cannons and ballista have a chance to get the bear in flight-time... therefore making the defenses working... Obviously you can still tank some cannon balls when you move a dedicated target bear after balls are incoming to drain the defenses still... But just one bear will have a harder time and not just steam rolling any defenses, that is not high enough of the ground...

Yeah I get you. Don’t worry we are taking it slow. 6 island in my first grid and so far I have only been to 3 out of the 6 lol this is a huge world and we are basically going to be living on the ship nomad style. Want to see the whole globe before we settle and make a base. Don’t want to miss out on that “perfect spot” so even building a base will take awhile. once we do start building I’ll post some pics but I am sure it will be awhile.

Not just the 1st wipe hat, What about a second wipe cosmetic. A figurehead would be nice.

I bet 5000 gold that they enable the hat for everyone and not just for the veterans.

You can ask someone nice to come save you and maybe join their company. I've saved about 6 stranded people first launch and they were pretty good members of the company.

lol Dont, the only way atlas is moderately fun is by playing it in limited dosis, once you have tried it all the game literally simply dies, or to say it in a different way, the only thing that makes the game any fun is actually not the game itself but you curiosity, so once you know you have seen it all...well GG The moment you look forward to someone's post on a game's forum more than playing that game, you know something about the game is fucked up. that said i will bookmark this post for the lolz have fun.
  19. 1 point
Well someone took it on themselves to create it, and its up to them to update it, not their only project either.
  20. 1 point
Jat posted that it would be fixed in an update.

I would recommend doing the same thing you did to get the first one.

I had an idea of doing a hot zone for Power Stone locations. Every 2 hours it switches randomly do another PS zone. During this time all mob drops increase and a small uptick of RARE drops is introduced. Those drops can be high end BP's and/or high end gear like carbines, cannons, etc. This will promote people to come into contact and duke it out. Also adding locations that you can capture and go active once every 24 hours that mine rare mats would be cool as well.

On a lawless island, you’ll have to build a shipyard and ship. Or, you can die and change your home server to a Freeport and buy another one.
  24. 1 point
That doesn't change when it's out of Early Access with Wildcard lol Ark was still a mess when it fully released lol, I stuck for them alot back when Ark was in Early Access then when it fully released and very little was fixed and many new problems had shown up I stopped sticking up for them lol, so I will play Atlas and hopefully enjoy it but I know much more what to expect from these guys this time around and won't stick up for them lol

This isn’t beta testing, it’s Early Access. When we conflate the two or regard them as interchangeable, we ignore a qualitative difference: money. Beta testers didn’t pay to test, in fact internal beta testers did so because it’s a paid job.Early Access we pay for. Now don’t misunderstand me, I’m not suggesting this means people have a right to expect a finished game. What it does mean is that they are now paying customers and do have a right to a higher set of expectations than unpaid beta testers. It is to the gaming industries advantage for players not to notice this meaningful qualitative difference and continue to use the terms interchangeably. It is not to our advantage as players to do so. Kickstarter and other crowdfunding sites require games funded that way to lay out clear goals and expectations of what backers receive for their donation. Early Access likewise should have clearly set standards and expectations. That will only happen if players stop conflating it with beta and demand a greater level of transparency and accountability in exchange for their money, otherwise gaming studios will be happy to keep right on increasing their revenue without giving us anything in return.

Its funny PPL buy a game that's in beta then complain about the game even thou THE DISCLAMER WHEN YOU BUY THE GAME SAYS there will be wipes of the server and content will change as the game gets released "Patience is part of the game of BETA testing"!!!
  27. 1 point
We'll have it fixed in an upcoming patch
  28. 1 point
Yeah. It was definitely worth the wait. I see months of fun with this. Though as people have seen on here when I am drinking I tend to get impulsive so the one rule is when everyone else is the eastern time gets offline I cannot sail the ship. And that was the rule I set for the company lol it is their responsibility to remind me when they get off. If they forget I will probably ran that damn schooner straight into an island lol

The dlc’s In Ark didn’t bother me. They were clearly optional additional maps you didn’t have to have in order to enjoy the game. They not only allowed modders to make their own maps, letting people produce content for free that competed with their paid content, but they also let those same modders release the animals and items from those dlc’s as free mods, so in the end you only had to pay for the map itself, and you didn’t need their paid maps to have quality map options beyond the island. heck they paid selected modders to produce maps for players for free. That just does not scream greed to me. I know a lot of people take issue with releasing a paid dlc in a game still in Early Access, but I think it’s pretty clear that was a one time thing precipitated by the lawsuit. Is it a preferable situation? Ofc not, but in the overall context of the way Wildcard does business, I feel like there is a legitimate attempt to add value to the players experience in exchange for additional revenue. I’m fine with that.

That actually sounds like a very cool idea. If freeports were turned into a big pve archipelago with lots of small islands with basic materials ( same as freeports for making primitive things only) then it would be a good place for smaller companies to have their main base and they can build outposts for farming etc out in the rest of the map. Limiting company size to max 15 players to build there would be cool. That way the small companies can find allies and recruit then eventually (maybe) try their hand in the rest of the map in pvp. Big companies will inevitably also find a way to stash things in free portson alt accounts but who cares tbh. It isnt hurting anyone and we are already doing it anyways.

Well at least with the combat timer removed, everyone would be notified that it's time to fight, a shorter timer would be an improvement, but wouldn't change the meta of, check their server each day to see how many are on in their combat time, first time almost no one is on, raid it all. You'll always have that problem even with short combat timers. It's a requirement that you at least log on in combat time everyday to look like your going to defend. That's not really fun to me, being forced to log on just to keep playing. If it's just war then at least you'll know when you HAVE to log on in advance, and if you cant be on on that time, you know it's time to pack up and run. Big companies would still hold a lot of power, but they arent going to keep putting war flags down for no loot, and no fight, so they shouldn't be harassing small companies unless theres just nothing else to attack/do.
  32. 1 point
I wouldnt say to take the combat timer out but maybe make it a progressive timer depending on the size of your company. If you have a 5 man company your timer could start at 4 hours then for a 75 man company it could be like 12 hours. I read on another thread they were asking for like a 2 day window to siege an island i dont think the game can support the size battle that would turn into. I think like a 2 to 3 hour window during the war timer already given would be plenty. Make it so after war is declared nobody can build new structures only ammo or armor and stuff to prep for war. this will give the war declaring guild time to do assett damage before the actual war starts. But also give the defending group time to get allies over to help. But again server cap will prolly still get in the way.

Our Charakter are aging which isnt new,but i think to keep the Economy alive for tames there Needs to be something that Forces to replace them at some Point. If the Servers Dont wipe early again i think aging tames would be a cool thing to add. They age And if they reach like 70years their stats are reduced by 10% with 80 20% with 90 30% And with 100 they die. Maybe let them be infertile at 60 years or so. As it was before the wipe People kept on lass breeding And the market will be satisfied at some Stage. Crows for example,as soon as You Hit a high Level And sold them, they wont die as they will be kept in base for Crafting. No One will Need Crows then anymore.

Because I believe BW is a free map, and the person that made it is responsible for updating it, when you demand stuff that would be a paid DLC. I am sure the BW creator is taking donations. Metal and fish are still there, maybe in certain spots but apparently that's Blackwood. Not another SOTD damned rant there are like 3 on the whole map WTH?

You guys and gals always do over the top animals well, where is the mythical Jackalope? Here is what the gargler say when you gargle it: The jackalope is a mythical animal of North American folklore (a fearsome critter) described as a jackrabbit with antelope horns. The word jackalope is a portmanteau of jackrabbit and antelope. Many jackalope taxidermy mounts, including the original, are made with deer antlers.

You sound like someone who should wait until the game is actually launched....in other words, after development is over. They are still developing features, tweaking, and optimizing...wipes will happen. If you don't like that....wait for launch.

I'm so Tired of getting FUCKED Over by this damn game makers. This is the third time I have to restart after building my lvl/Tames/Ect.. up. Stop fucking the players over. You should have found a way to stop screwing over the people that have been loyal to your game. You could have at least given us our levels back.

very nice, for the second time this week a cobra in the stall. all tames eaten, despite double walls. your beautiful announcements bring nothing, if such regressions cause frustration and ruin the pleasure of the game. I wonder if that's how many players feel, and then give up the game.

A better interface for assigning crew members to jobs. Maybe a ships log book where you can assign each crew member a job? Also, more crew job types (surgeon, carpenter, cargo master, bosun).
  41. 1 point
I could definitely see the addition of a carpenter position on the ship to make repairs at sea. And a surgeon position to help with healing during battles. A bosun would also have a place on the ship, fixing damaged rigging and everything that has to do with the scuba gear onboard.

Hello everyone, we recently did some test on the new Multi non-dedi and we were surprise how it is after some config change. First try : We kept every parameter as original, and see how far could everyone goes. The result is 450m Which is, to be fair, very low.. Here is some image to see how far it is : Here on a full grid : Second try : There is a parameter when you create a solo/non-dedi session, in general, named : Non-Dedicated Host Tether Distance. The value is set to 1, and the value is used to set how far you can go from host. On our second try we set it to 5.0 I have no image to describe, but it was better, 5x better, but.. meh... you'll be able to across an entire island, but not an entire grid. Third try : Let's go Boys and Girls, let's set that value to x25. And well.. that's awesome x) Even if as host I lost some performance (still better than official though), we could go almost everywhere. Here is first image to see how far you can go without being TP After that distance you will be TP to the host. But the real question is : Can I go to the farthest island ? We did some test on caculation, on H3, as it looks like on our very quick look, they have the farthest islands on eachothers. Here is the result on paper, we should be able to go everywhere we want : Real test : I am the little cross, my friend is on the bed. And no TP at all, or unespected move. Result : x25 seems enough, but you can possibly do more if you want. Though, the host active the grid where he's. Others members can't go on another grid if host isn't on this grid. If host change grid, other members and their boat will be TP near to host. Pretty happy how the non-dedi work. Their still is all the bug solo has Hope they get patch soon The non-dedi allow small groups (2 to 8 players) to play on the full map, as rent it cost really too much. Still waiting for ISO: Blackwood Hope this thread will help some people

will we be able to adjust the tether range? for example when using a lan connection and a powerful rig. in ark we had to stay really close to the host, will it go farther in atlas so we can be on different sides of one island or different island within one grid?
